DH Tirades
hitters stand on top of the plate more than they used to. part of the emphasis on homers and pulling the ball more.
-
Jeff Bajenaru
considering what he's done in the minors, he deserves an extended look in the majors.

Worst Chicago Athlete
i just like to say billy joe robideaux

any interest in Jo-Bo?
he looked great against the sox the other day. his stats look fine except for the 5 gofer balls. at least he doesn't walk guys.

I guess El Caballo is happy being under .500
he loves it up there because there's no pressure to win. plus he's the fan favorite.

Brian Anderson blurb in the Sun-Times
.277 and a ton of K's is a little disappointing to me. maybe he'll pick it up in the second half.

Gio to WS, Bakker to Kanny, Stewart Released
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) Stewart was 4-4 with a 4.25 ERA 14 games (11 starts). He had 65.2 IP, gave up 65 hits, walked 16 and struck out 41. thanks. that's about what i thought. he was one of their better starters. hope he does well in japan.

what were stewart's stats? (he's vanished from the usual stat pages). i don't really get this move, not that it matters much.

6/14 Games
when can we move whisler to 1B?

Borchard's recent numbers
he was hitting about .180 a month ago.

Awkward Player you remember
one guy not mentioned above: carlos martinez. who reminds me of luis salazar for some reason. i hated that guy.

Barons Scouting Reports
oh s***..i just downloaded a virus!....just kidding.
-
Casey Rogowski
i agree, but most folks think he's a tender flower who would be irreversably damaged by such a move.

KW: I Suck at Amatuer Scouting
from today's sun-times STAY AWAY: Williams was asked his thoughts on this year's draft, which ended Wednesday, and he came to a realization. ''The one thing that I have had to come to terms with is, I [stink] at amateur scouting,'' Williams said. ''I am so much better at evaluating minor-league players and major-league players that it's probably best for me to just get out of the way.''

Lance Broadway
sounds like mark redman if we're lucky.

Shingo
i dunno WTF ozzie's doing with him. he doesn't suck any worse than the other guys right now.

Sox Notes: Club waits to make decisions

Frank to be back for next homestand?
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) Left ankle. I'm sure he will have to wear an ankle protector. well, that shouldn't bother his hitting much. i guess he just needs to get his timing back.
-
Frank to be back for next homestand?
is the ankle his left or right? at least pitchers will have to pay attention when he's hitting. it could take him a long time to get going.

What do we need?
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:36 AM) We thought it was the players, so we shook things up and brought in a new batch. Now it's the same f***ing thing again. i think the problem is people overestimated what these guys can do. how many of them had s***ty years in the past? probably all of them.

Former Sox Pitcher Jon Rauch Injured
we've dealt away about a million pitching prospects and none of them amounted to anything.

Mike Lowell
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) I hate Wes Helms. I never want to here his name again. If you like Wes Helms go talk to a Brewers fan, and ask them their opinion of Wes Helms, they're sentements will be of similar nature to mine. would you believe i attended the brewers/rockies game yesterday with my wes- helms'-jersey(autographed)-wearing buddy? i'm not saying he's any good, but he might prod crede. the sox have handed crede the job for 3-4 years with zero competition. maybe it's time for a change.

Mike Lowell
lowell killed the ball a couple of times yesterday. he might be coming around.... what about wes helms just to give us a backup 3B/1B.

best Sox player of all-time
eddie collins definitely deserves to be on the poll. we actually have a pretty weak selection given a century of choices. if frank were just a passable 1B, rather than a DH, the choice would be easy.
-
Frank says he's ready...
it takes power hitters forever to get their stroke going, but usually they do it in the majors. the phillies didn't make thome sit in the minors even though he's hitting .190.
