  1. Way back in wilder times the town of Cicero was always the last resort for getting a drink with some select bars open to 6:00 am. Looks like Hammond holds the title of last resort for the Bears.
  2. I don't know Mune's background, but I wonder if he has ever been away from home for this long?
  3. St. Louis Cardinals placed RF Everson Pereira on the 10-day injured list. Left hand contusion.
  4. Column: Jarrett Payton motivated by 'haters' in new role at Score Sully's column mentions that Payton's ties to the McCaskey's are going to be a factor in anything critical about the Bears. Haugh and Payton are both Cub fans, and they have a producer that is annoying Cub water boy. It's going to be Cubs & Bears 24/7. If the Bears move to Hammond, Haugh will be cheering for his home state of Indiana and Payton will be in the McCaskey's corner.
  5. Hmmmm, interesting with the possibilities of when the Sox face starting LHP.
  6. I remember really early in the season on one of the podcasts and Peters was mentioned. It was basically who was he and where he came from, basic 101 stuff. He was described as a 26yrs old, plus fielder with good speed but no bat, not enough MLB experience to evaluate. I look at Doyle, 28 yrs old, 2 GG, great speed, with a previous season 3.9 WAR. I think the risk/reward is worth working on getting his bat back on track. At the very worse you have a stud OF late inning defensive replacement.
  7. If Peters can stay locked in and Colson and Mune get it going, holy #@!%
  8. Keep it going through Minny and Houston !!!
  9. Coming out of ST I think Bonemer and Roch are still in the minors, but they could be up in 2027. Mune possibly traded, Acuna gone, Grich comes back, Brook Baldwin UT Opening Day : 1st Mune/Vargas 2nd Chase/Sam SS Colson/Chase 3rd Vargas/Colson C Teel/Rogers RF B. Montgomery/Doyle CF Peters/Doyle LF Sam, Peters, Doyle DH Grich/Benny UT Brooks Baldwin
  10. The Sox also needed pitching, but Getz didn't look to Mason Adams for help.
  11. If you only had a 45 year old Fisk or Andrew Vaughn available on the bench for a late inning OF defense replacement , I am going with Pudge.
  12. I think AFL works both ways it will define if going forward with Caleb in CF is valid or to scrap the idea. If Bonemer looks like Andrew Vaughn in the outfield the Sox will have their answer right away.
  13. Doyle might be a project, but he is also a plug and play elite CF. I think the need for a true CF incase Peters gets injured was the motivation for the trade. Doyle also can be of value for years as a OF glove on the bench with spots starts.
  14. Lead is 3 runs or fewer or tying run at the plate: Save awarded for pitching the final inning and preserving the lead for a team win. Hold awarded for getting at least one out in a save situation and leaving with the lead intact.
  15. I hope Venable leaves Colson at SS or 3rd tonight against the Texas starter LHP MacKenzie Gore. Colson hangs in there against LHP, maybe he sticks to his approach better. If Mune gets the day off that would be fine by me, maybe come in as a pinch hitter against an RHP.
  16. Jacob deGrom can use the line from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, "Who are those guys?" DeGrom vs 2026 White Sox: 0-2, 14.04 era, 8.1IP, 13H, 13 ER, 7 BB, 8 SO.
  17. Sox are in first place, this sure beats shoveling snow.
  18. Colson looked like he was a bust before he went to AZ last year. Then he came up and was awesome the last half of the season. This year he was doing great and then he went south. He has the bat speed and tools; it's almost like he needs a 6-month checkup to get straighten out.
  19. Let the good times roll. After the last 2 1/2 seasons I will take it .
  20. I disagree with that comparison; Colson doesn't have the walk totals that Dunn produced. Colson is not a finished product at the plate and will need to make adjustments. At 24 yrs old he has his whole career ahead of him. Unfortunately both Mune and Colson are tanking at the same time.
  21. It will be interesting to see how Bonemer picks up playing CF. I heard he is very positive about the move. 2027 late season call up ?
  22. Wow, glad to hear the possibilities for Bonemer.
