Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Falstaff replied to ChiSoxFanMike's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Would you happen to know how long the Sox have control over: Mike Vasil Shane Smith I am assuming Houser gets traded by the deadline because he is a F/A in 2026. -
The slide was an instant classic Chase gets on Base Teel is the Real Deal Vasil can Dazzle....OK , I think that's just about enough of that
-
Ozzie loves Meidroth the player, but I would be interested in where he thinks his best position is SS or 2nd.

I was at the game today so I would like to get the perspective of those who watched it on tv. I also read in the thread a few comments about the home plate ump. Watching from the stands I couldn't see if the ump was having a bad day. Not sticking up for Leasure, he needs to be sent down.

For me I dig the 3:10 Saturday starts. I can get all my yard work/ chores done for the most part and then watch the game. it will only get better when the Sox start kicking ass and taking names, oh yeah.

Montgomery is a lock to make the Sox. (Braden)

"The chances are of winning are not good." "So, you're telling me there's a chance?"

I am happy to see the progress Vargas is making and hoping the same for Sosa. The Sox need to be patient with Sosa to see what they can get out of him. Eduardo Escobar always comes to mind on a late bloomer that had decent success after hitting 25 years old.
-
I will be curious to see what he has left in the tank.

Getz was 40? when he took over the GM role. I would like to see a before and after picture of him Before: Looked like a college senior planning a Florida Spring Break vacation. After (currently): Ready for Sunny Acres Retirement Village.

WSI was my main source for White Sox info back in the day, I was a read only guest and remember, LIp, George Bova, and Daver. I believe George Bova started the site, Daver was a plumber by trade, and Lip was a sports reporter and play by play man. The Admins we have here have to be respected for the time, effort, and policing they put into this site.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.

Trading Robert now would be like selling your house as a quick sale, as is. I would rather keep him and see if he can get out of this terrible slump and then deal him in the spring. -
6/21 game thread Sox at Jays 2:05 CDT
Falstaff replied to chitownsportsfan's topic in 2025 Season in Review
Whenever I see that Barrios is pitching against the Sox I don't watch. He is 14-6 lifetime now and over the years when he does pitch bad against the Sox his team bails him out and he doesn't get a loss but a no decision. Shades of Santana Sox domination. -
My wish list: MORE HOME RUNS please 🙂

I was listening to Jeff Meller on the radio pre-game show yesterday. He interviewed Keith Law and Keith had a real negative view on Shultz going to Charlotte. Law thought Schultz should stay down at Birmingham to work on his control. Law also touched on Hagen Smith who is also have major problems with his control and I thought he also mentioned a velocity issue. Sorry I don't have a link; it was an on-air interview. I was bummed out, the saving grace to me is Law said the Sox staff feels very confident about the move. I would really like to hear some opinions from our board because we have excellent minor league coverage.

So they're saying we have a chance.

Grant Taylor set to join White Sox in HOU
Falstaff replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Kenny had a good run, ring and all. Getz is learning on the fly and is shopping at the Dollar Store. I like some of his moves, let's see what he can get for Robert jr. -
And that's a 4-2 WHITE SOX OVER TRASHCANS WINNER
Falstaff replied to chitownsportsfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Our Chuck and Ozzie talked about the defense being much cleaner, turning double plays, and offensively the newbie's taking walks. Loving it !!! -

I am so glad he is with the Sox. -
Jeff Torborg was respected and liked by everyone; I wish the Sox would have held on to him.

I really enjoy reading on the board the different perspectives on how to handle Grant Taylor's role. Brian Bannister has proven to be astute in the development of pitching; he has earned my trust 100%. -
I agree with you, kind of no harm no foul.
-
If they do bring up Montgomery, I am assuming he will play SS? With Robert jr. traded and Vaughn in purgatory I was looking at possible defensive positioning options. 1B: Elko/Vargas/Sosa 2B: Meidroth/Sosa/Baldwin SS: Montgomery/Meidroth/Baldwin 3B: Vargas/Sosa/Baldwin Catcher: Teel/Quero DH: Teel/Quero/Benintendi LF: Benintendi/Taylor/Baldwin CF: Taylor/Baldwin RF: Tauchman/Taylor/Baldwin Reserves: Rojas/Slater/Palacios

Hopefully additional young pitching can come up and help the club. Grant Taylor as a closer could be an answer to a glaring need.
-
I really am liking the infusion of youth to the club, Baldwin would fit right in. I don't think AV or Robert will be part of the future.
