I was shocked when I saw they declined his option after what he did in the playoffs. What is king George smoking these days. You dont decline an option on your best pitcher. Id take him in a heartbeat for the right price.
I would welcome either. Polanco is much younger and I believe he can play 2nd, short, or third. Visquel is still a vaccum at short and would fit the grinder style that Kenny and Ozzie want. Both are upgrades over Valentin.
Does anybody agree with me that Joe Borchard is an Adam Dunn clone? 45 home runs and a strikeout record seems like the kind of numbers Joe could put up if given a full season. Certainly the strikeout record but with his power I could see him putting up Dunn type numbers as far as home runs and RBI's as well. I dont think its time to give up on Joe yet is what im saying.
We did draft Josh Fields you know. Probably a couple years away from the majors but I think Crede can fill in nicely till Fields is ready. Crede does have 21 homers and he hits a hard .230.
It seems like everybody wants to get rid of Garland but wouldnt he make a perfect 5th starter. Imagine our 5th starters this year with a .500 record. We might be talking playoffs instead of sitting at home watching the cubs choke once again.
GreasyWheels nice sig pic. Awesome game on Saturday. 2 games and the Hoosiers still got a shot at the National Championship. Go Hoosiers. Skin those damn cats.
Gload needs to play everyday and if that means shipping Konerko Im all for it. How about Konerko for Andrew Jones straight up. Jones could hit 40 home runs at the Cell and we would have a gold glover in CF. Move Rowand to right and you have a pretty good outfield.
On whitesox.com they have an article up about Everett for next. It seems like Ozzie wants him to come to spring training in shape and play outfield next year. Heres a link.

I am one of the few Diaz fans left out there. He deserves a shot at #5 next year if he keeps pitching like he did today. One thing I noticed even in his bad starts he strikes out alot of hitters.
Bruce Levine mentioned something interesting that the White Sox may be looking at Contreras to be the closer after next year therefore maybe opening up one of the starter spots. I like Diaz for the 5th spot and I would love to see Pavano in a White Sox uniform. If Contreras does well as a starter I imagine they will keep him there.
Why is everybody giving up on Crede. Hes a potential gold glove third baseman and hes not going to stay cold forever you saw what he did the second half of last year at this point wouldnt you rather have Joe out there than Uribe who isnt hitting any better.
