  1. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) Ummmm something i dont think anyone has pointed out yet. But I DO believe that Thome is the most dangerous opposing team hitter who has ever played at the Cell. At least one of the most dangerous, I think he has hit the most Hr's there by an opposing hitter, i could be wrong, and im not going to look it up but I think its around 18 I think youre right and you know KW likes to get former Sox killers ie: A.J. and Jermaine. I would not be shocked at all if he was wearing a Sox uni next year.
  2. Jurrasic Carl>Piazza. Thats all I have to say.
  3. How about this trade idea. Crede for Figgins. Seems pretty equal to me. Power and great defense for speed and solid defense.
  4. I know this is an old topic but I thought they were supposed to be putting green seats in and they were going to be ready for opening day 2006. Anybody know anything about this.
  5. I stayed up for every bit of it and my heart was racing from about the 9th inning on. I only got about 2 hours of sleep so I am definitely dragging right now but it was well worth it. Thank God Blum hit that HR or they still might be playing and I still would have kept watching.
  6. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) he's not going to make Vlad money -- he's not an MVP candidate. He doesn't hit over .300. I dont know hes getting pretty close to being able to get Vladdy money. He was the ALCS MVP and with a relatively weak free agent market for power hitting first basemen he will get a lot of dough waived at him by NY, Aneheim, Boston etc. Lets hope he wants to stay at somewhat of a "discount" price.
  7. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) If that were indeed the offer, anyone want to explain why Philly wouldn't have taken it? I call bulls*** on the writer. Exactly. Philly would be idiotic if they turned down that trade. I dont believe it either.
  8. I dont think there will be any middle road for IU. They will either lose the rest of their games or they will win at least 6. I sure hope its the latter. I also think that IU is one big upset away from this thing snowballing into a huge season. The tide is certainly changing in Bloomington.
  9. That was the best overall game I have seen IU play ever. They just totally dominated UK from the beginning. 2 weeks to prepare for Wisky may be a good thing. We have owned them the past 2 times. Go Hoosiers.
  10. As Hawk says: "Its time to cinch it up and hunker down."
  11. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:32 AM) Sounds awesome, not a steal. I think it is officialy recorded that Ozuna stole home.
  12. Three words: McCarthy for Villone. The trade market was completely dead this year so unless you wanna overpay big time for a marginal player at best you should be happy we got Blum so cheap. How many people here would have been estatic if you told them we would have a 7 game lead in September at the beginning of the year.
  13. Way to go BMac congrats on your first major league win. Great game from Dye as well.
  14. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 08:59 AM) So where is Kenny Williams these days? Anyone hear or see him lately on TV ? Is he on vacation? Kenny is flying under the radar like he usually is.
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Timo Perez, with RISP -- 25 ABs, .200/.276/.320. Timo Perez, with RISP and two outs -- 12 ABs, .250/.308/.333 Timo Perez, Men on, two outs -- 25 ABs, .200/.286/.280 Timo Perez, runners on-base -- 51 ABs, .255/.339/.392 http://sports.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/6568/situational Screw the statistics. you cant deny that hes had some big hits in late innings. Hes done it with the Sox and he did it in the playoffs for the Mets a few years back. Im telling you some of you may have to eat your words when playoff time comes around.
  16. I just dont understand the hate for Timo. Yeah his batting average sucks but hes been awesome with runners in scoring position and as clutch as anybody. Just wait till he gets a big pinch hit in the playoffs like he did with the Mets a few years back and then you all can shut up about Timo.
  17. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 08:39 AM) The best was Harold's reason for picking Mariano Riviera. He says he won't pick pick either Buehrle or Garland just because the White Sox are in first. He says it should be given to someone on pitching ability. Fine. But then he goes on to say the reason he picks Mariano is because he is winning ball games for the Yanks and keeping them in contention .
  18. Youve seen Blum play 3 games and you already come to the conclusion that Blum cant hit. Let him play a few more games before you pass judgement. 10 ab is hardly a sample. Believe me im the biggest Gload supporter out there. There just isnt any room for him right now.
  19. Probably a stupid question but I havent heard much about Felix this year. Is he even with the sox anymore or is he hurt?
  20. Is anybody else worried that we do not have a backup first baseman yet we have a perfectly capable one down in Charlotte in Ross Gload. What do Ozzie and Kenny have against him? He was awesome last year. Why are they treating him like they did Kelly Wunsch last year?
