  1. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 05:38 PM) While I wouldn't take that article as anything more than a typical Merkin fluff piece, I will say that Hahn & company are clearly incompetent if they actually believe that minor changes are all that are needed to right this ship. i don' t think this is on hahn, but higher up on the purse strings. esp if they don't do anything with adam l.
  2. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 06:57 AM) Watch this. oh man ..... i saw that. what a beauty .... talking about players who can control the puck. and that was 5 on 5.
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 03:04 AM) And another goal from that line. Kane this time most excellent line..... it is fun
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 02:55 AM) Going to exciting to watch him this year. is it too early to anoint him as really special. maybe rookie of the yr?? i trying to calm my excitement over how talented he is. scotty got a special player ....
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 01:24 AM) No. He might be suspended indefinitely until his customs drug case closes anyway. Can we at least wait until he is out if the judicial system? And hockey wise, there is a reason why the Kings were so desperate to terminate his contract at the first opportunity don't get me wrong, you and others are right. i agree, i was trying to get some discussion and posters opinion. la kings, gm was angry and disappointed, b/c he lied and continue to lie to his face about his problem which M. R. denies he has. this team is going to be fun, but i am greedy. oh well just thinking.
  6. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 10:05 PM) Sorry but no well, i agree. i was just stirring the waters and see what posters have to say. yesterday was a great article on la kings gm talking about this. this guy really have a huge problem. but i wanted to know, should the hawks take a chance??
  7. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) Know why the Cubs, Cardinals, Giants, Astros and Dodgers got where they are? Do know how the Braves teams of the 90s became a 15 year dynasty? They took BPA always, regardless of where they picked and what their org needed. b/c they had a better owner and FO who knew what there were doing. the owner of the sox had his hand in managing team when he wasn't qualified. just b/c he is the owner, doesn't mean he know how to manage the team.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) You are aware that Mike Richards has some major legal and addiction issues with drugs, correct? yes i agree. but there is the potential of skills there, i am not saying turn a blank eye, but unless the whole sport of hockey provide some major help. however i have faith in the hawks org to also provide help when asked. i am not cold blooded on this right or wrong, but that 3 or 4 line needs some help. however this is only 2 games and i am not crying firing. btw, a great counter.
  9. mike richards, la kings. has just negotiated a buyout on his huge contract. so he will be a UFA at a certain time, soon. too bad bickell contract is hanging over the hawks neck but i would love to get richards like the hawks got brad richards at a discount and provide a valuable positional skilled player. i think he will look good as a 3c ... but oh well. http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/r/richami02.html
  10. greg, i let this go for as long as i can. i wanted to put my 2. cents in. if that is worth it. you are guilty, there is no if, and or but, and you even agreed to it. whether the officer felt that he wanted to or not, let you go, it is his prerogative. however in the scope of jurisprudence, it is a law... whether that definitions of that particular law is a good one, that is not the point nor should it be open for debate. it is the law. a cop who sees no color, no gender or favoritism is the best kind of person and even a better cop.
  11. QUOTE (staxx @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 05:57 PM) That's how you get in a bad situation. If the BPA is a pitcher, you continue to load up on pitching and acquire a bat via trade. i can see this debate in a good theory and based on good judgement with available information. with the opinion that sometimes players hopes may not become, if development fails. but when a team is picking in the 7- 10, i will always take, a pitcher, unless a hitter comes with a huge gossip of being a great prospect. some can say this is in theory BPA.... it might but at this stage, the best player for the teams needs. however the level of pitching, at this present time, only the top 2 or 3 are what i would considered excellent prospect / sp. however how can you not look acquiring an elite bat over the possibility of getting a sp. now the only defense in my defense is 2 players who were passed over.... mike trout and giancarlo stanton were never considered BPA, but had a rep for a powerful bat.
  12. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) The first 3v3 OT happened last night. Wow. holly cow. the was great action... great saves by both goalies. TPA was so dominating.
  13. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 05:27 PM) 100% with you. I'm not a Sox fan because I need an outlet for my Cubs hate. It's not even the team I don't like--I don't like their bro fans. But this is soooooo stupid. Back in '05 I got a letter published in the Sun-Times talking about how it's lonely to be a northsider when the Sox are in the playoffs. On that same page was some loser Cub talking about how he would never, ever support the Sox' run no matter what and he didn't care if they were a Chicago team. Whatever. We don't have any reason to talk--they made the moves, spent the money, and now look at them. Sure they had to go through a couple of losing years to rebuild but do you think anybody cares about that now? We've been putting the same so-so thing out for almost a decade. We should be EMULATING them, not hoping for them to lose. So yeah I support them. I'm not watching the games and I'm never ever switching teams but cmon. excellent point and i was thinking on, at least for me on the like and dislike of the chi baseball teams. i was always a sox fan, the only one in my immediate family.. now in my neighborhood, it was the , ugh i am going to be nice. cubs fans in the neighborhood that started the cubs or sox. but not both. now the whole group of people preferring one team over the other. i think it is the news, the sports that had major direct hand of feeding this dislike.
  14. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 04:15 PM) Where would LaRoche go if this happened? The bench I'm assuming? for me, i have no problems with his defense on the bench. no errors.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 04:24 PM) You act like she's Chyna or something. She's really neither of the above. I find her attractive. She seems cool as hell as well. all people have a preference of what is a nice looking .... i think she somewhat reminds me of Julia Stiles and have some similar looks. plus if some one want of fight me, i just let her do my light work. btw, julia stiles is hot.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 03:14 PM) Rousey is a marketing phenom. Amazing how a woman athlete like her in a sort of niche sport has become one of the most popular and marketable people in the country. and i think she is hot.
  17. QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 11:32 AM) I'm not against Davis, but his contract brings the most risk of any free agent in this class i have been wondering and just trying to throw some of my ideas out there. the situation of what the sox should do or would do. this conversation will be debated at no ends until spring training. as fans, we would all want the sox fo to go out and spend to get this team in a shape to really compete, with the idea of what can be done and hoped. i am extremely guilty of this wishful thoughts. esp now with the northsider in the playoff. my only respond to that will be.... damn the FO for being short sighted. now, the fans will hope and pray but the owners will do what they want to do. so i only see at least one fa signing. a fa to shore up 3b. i also see some trades of surplus of pitching to pickup players to battle for positions or players who may be ready in a yr. i really hope i am wrong but i don't see Q being used as a trade chip. his cost control is too valuable for the sox to trade...... seeing how the owners would not sacrifice a cost control player like this. i hope i am wrong.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 03:53 AM) quite possibly my favorite post of all time lol this really truly amazes me on how petty, childish and immature yours and ron post can get .... just to show in a fleeting moment of how superior you think of your self. i am really surprise how you can live with your perceived ego.
  19. Viktor Svedberg is one huge dman. standing 6'8 and he does have potential. now if that can be seen during a game. i see his height and potential of a shut down part of his game, which reminds on paper of Zdeno Chara who stand at 6'9.

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 01:24 AM) I didn't see it. it was funny and i was really impress with Rousey and her sense of humor.
  21. well there are posters who are voicing some concerns and that is their opinion. for me, i am looking or will try to look at the good part. a. Panarin performance and his goal b. Tevo performance and his goal c. Kane performance here is Panarin first goal with a assist from kane from youtube.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 11:17 PM) Hard to tell with hawks how much you can judge from the regular season let alone 1 regular season game. excellent point .... look at last season results and the hawks won the SC.
  23. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 11:04 PM) If you would do something "in a heartbeat" then it's likely the other team wouldn't. you got a point, but alvarez, he has burnt all his bridges. it was mention that the pirates would be happy to be rid of him. now why would the pirates do this, they need a 1b, defensively, and with the clubhouse problem that may be associated with alvarez. now why would the sox do it, 27 hrs, and i believe the sox may have enuf players to help this overcome the so called cancer. at least for 1 yr and let him walk or traded. worst case, he can be a nice dh option. i am trying to rethink of this past interest.
  24. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 10:57 PM) Maybe we could do Laroche to the pirates for Charlie Morton. Bad contract for bad contract. this was mention as a blog idea. sox and pirates. adam laroche plus minor league prospect to pirates for Pedro Alvarez. i would this in a heartbeat.
