QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 11:43 PM) I think he meant Barker, not Campbell, in terms of going #3 and was supposed to be great. Hockeybuzz is run by Eklund who is garbage. or nhlnumbers.com I read today the Hawks want a 1st OR 2nd and an A prospect OR a young guy who has NHL experience with a chance to be a big contributor. I don't think the Hawks trade him inside the West unless they're blown away by Edmonton's offer. This would be fine by me. Trocheck last year in Florida had 22 points in 50 games. He has a chance to be a 3rd line C one day. wow, nice info there. i did not see your response and you are right, many thanks. ref sharp and expected rtn..... honestly do you think the hawks will get that kind of haul??? i really mean no disrespect,i just don't know. ref Trocheck... not me. i don't think it is a fair rtn. btw, you should post more.... you seem to know a lot. this site, soxtalk need more great poster like you.

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 10:13 PM) I think you need to check your history. I don't mean that to be rude, but this is just flat out wrong. By the way, hockeybuzz is pretty good. you are sooo right, damn it is a bite getting old., the player i was thinking about is cam barker brain campbell is and was a very good player. http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/c/campbbr02.html many thanks on the classy way you brought that mistake to my attention.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 11:45 PM) The insiders story. different "insiders" seem to have conflicting "who is at fault KW or RH." excellent point.... jokingly i would say, it makes good news.
-
QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 11:49 PM) I would say he wouldn't listen to any advice by upper management or training staff. The coach and management should at least be on the same page on how to run a team. They don't need to completely agree but should have the same philosophy. If not, one needs to go, usually it's the coach. This isn't saying one is right or wrong just that they cannot be that different and co-exist. and that was the final results. i think i am, or would by like thibs. i run the team, you hired me to run the team. but isn't that kind of frown on, upper management trying to coach the team??
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 09:37 PM) They aren't. Thibs wasn't loyal. would you really say he wasn't loyal or that he didn't listen to anyone and ran the bull as a coach should, without interference from upper management. now i am not disputing his way of coaching or the result of his style of coaching.
-
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 08:46 PM) I am ready for him to get a shot if this team continues to struggle. i will admit that i may have been wrong about him and i accept that. now if the parent club does move some players in the outfield, they yeah, i would love to see him come up. he deserves the shot.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 10:24 PM) Unless it isn't true. excuse me, but what isn't true, the rebuild stopping or the insiders story.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 10:18 PM) I find it difficult to say the Bulls are run differently. John Paxson and Gar Forman seemingly have jobs that are as isolated from performance evaluations as Kenny Williams and Rick Hahn. They were able to replace the coach, but the coach they replaced was someone from outside the organization who they didn't trust in the first place. When personality conflicts arose, the people who won were the internal, organizational people. When that conflict arose, the person brought in from the outside was replaced...with a former player for the team who has a good working relationship with the team. Sounds like they're both run quite similarly to me. you make a really good point. however, pax was running the show, alone until it got a little screwed up, then gar came in and helped. while at that, both of them helped draft players, players who can be develop. again the head of the org is run differently.
-
QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 10:14 PM) All of the baseball insiders were praising the moves of Rick Hahn this off season. Most of them said he was second in "winning" the off season. not one mention about how KW did this off season. So, I guess only radio show hosts and posters here know the inside information. you make a good point, the baseball insiders said all this while it happen until spring training. i guess, some of us, are very pessimistic and we saw how it stop. in addition we as fans had to see the yrs of futility coming from the sox org. so as the only point i can say, for me, i was not sold on it being finished. unlike many others including the so called insiders. if they were really the insiders, then they of all people should have known this.
-
QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 10:01 PM) But why are the Bulls run differently??? different managers at the helm of the bull org.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 09:45 PM) you really think that anyone in this organization thinks this? They are businessmen, they want to win because winning brings in more money. I dont think anyone is happy, from both a competitive and financial point of view by default in the big picture, i will agree with you. but i am judging this by the actions of the owners. if they are great, big businessmen, then they would have address the FO managerial works a long time ago. there is little of conflict in reasoning here. -

i really wonder if the owners really sees this team. if they do, aren't they pissed about it?? or are they that blind and think that they are doing a great job and the fans do not support them and that is why the team is doing how it is??? -
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 09:25 PM) Impossible when the ownership supports loyalty over performance. and that is the answer.
-
sox loose 4-1.
-
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 09:21 PM) The fault lies in scouting and drafting. These will be the same people evaluating the trade value for Sale. You are digging from the same whole and it gets deeper. When was the last time a trade of this type was done in this organization and it worked? the fault lie higher up. until this org, stop treating FO personnel like a family, they need to be held accountability for the black hole what should be the farm system.

this is my opinion. when a team is doing this horrible, we as fans starts to look for possible help from the minors. however, we look at the minors and see that what we need help in, hitter, none is there to help. then our frustration becomes more apparent. now for me, i was hoping that the int'l fa can help, but based on the article yesterday, i even doubt that the sox will go that route. so how will the freaking owners expect to fix this ship, call the sox org???

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 08:51 PM) So everyone but me knows everyone with the White Sox is the problem but Rick Hahn. Hahn was praised and praised and praised for the White Sox wheeling and dealing this past offseason, and when those players didn't perform, suddenly, he really had nothing to do with it. It was KW. It was JR. It's because Robin is managing. I don't mind Rick Hahn. I just don't understand assuming he is blameless here. for me and i will say this, even in this past off season, if the sox are going to buy into the rebuild, do it completely.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 08:17 PM) I think Hahn in many situations would be a good GM. I think he is smart and is able to identify pro talent reasonably well. I do not think he was the correct GM to oversee the demolition of the team after 2013, because he could not convince his bosses that trying to patch over that roster was necessary. But maybe nobody could have done that. Maybe nobody could have had the buy-in to fire Buddy Bell. i think that is the key, no - one would have been able to convince the owners group to do that, not when there was too many lap dogs tell him other things. i feel sorry of RV and the legacy he will leave behind as well, as kw.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 08:29 PM) It really grinds my gears how much credit McDonough gets for the Hawks run of success. i am sooo with you on this.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 04:12 PM) Thank you for posting this. I've kept up with non-White Sox MLB less than usual this season, so it warms the cockles of my heart to know that Boston has a five-alarm dumpster fire of their own. In what universe is it a good idea to bring over a clown like Sandoval for 5 yr/$20M per to a roster that already has the crown prince of all clowns ever, Ortiz? oh i love it. and the sox were how close to signing him?? -

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 03:53 PM) The point I am making is that they are not as bad as they are playing. The players on this team have proven track records of success. you make a good counter. this is a perfect example of the domino effect happening on the worst side. a long list of bad luck that just got worst. first Sale getting hurt, the sp not getting fixed. eaton not hitting and melky not performing. from that point, everything get magnified, and then nothing could stop the falling. pretty much like the hobbs movie..... perfect example. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 04:52 PM) That is a great point actually. It is like having Albert Einstein in the room, but not asking him about your physics homework. from what i wrote, you made an excellent point. what i neglected in adding, that is not the point, bowman was at the time, may have been employed with another team... that had always been my belief. well it bothered me and i am now saying, i was very wrong in this belief and my whole statement was totally off based with regard to bowman, father and son. here is a snippett on bowman history In July 2008, he took a position as Senior Advisor of Hockey Operations for the Chicago Blackhawks to work alongside his son Stan Bowman, who is the General Manager so in essence you and many others were right.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 03:38 PM) Wait, what? 87-75 might, might, win the second wildcard. Can't hit, can't field, terrible management...this team will not be going 59-38. They're probably going to trade a couple guys, and lose over 88 games. I'm expecting a top 6 pick next year, and it wouldn't shock me if the Sox pick 3rd. i will not talk about the trades idea. but i am in the belief this team can still hit. not all players can be this bad at one time, if it isn't something. but who knows. this season, for me is a lost cause. just going thru the motions. -
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 04:36 PM) [/b] Oh I agree that I don't believe anything from that site, it's just interesting giving ideas and proposals like this site. oh but i still a good reader of that forum. i read all sorts of stuff and i need to keep reading. i love to read anything new. eventually, if you can piece things together.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 03:34 PM) Balta really nailed this one. So did 90% of the other posters but Balta's takes were spot on. Maybe KW and Rick should poll Soxtalk on the new manager. re Balta is the teachers pet.
