  1. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 08:53 PM) The ML team is so dull, I'm now interested in Kanny org guys. Who is this Hunter Jones and from whence he came? in search off.
  2. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 08:49 PM) Not too sure what you were expecting with no 2nd and 3rd round picks. there was some quality picks there. but we do not know if they were approach to see what it would it to signed them.
  3. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 07:13 PM) Think he goes straight to WS after the CWS? i really hope he rest his arm.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 07:50 PM) Big fan of the draft this year all around, I'll update this post later and make it more extensive but who from this class of ours do we view as prospective? I view Fulmer, Erwin, Stephens, Zangari, Hickman, Schroeder, Glines, Conito, Flores, Lassiter, Cherry, and Hickman as most prospective, hope we get Michael Hickman signed i am not seeing this a whole lot of prospects. beside Fulmer, i only see Stephens and hopefully hope for Hickman to develop as one. i really like Hickman. other than that. i will keep the rest of my comment to myself. with how the parent club is doing, i really don't want to add it here.
  5. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) I understand your point too. Im just tired of the bonehead baseball. Sox need to start from scratch. Make take some time and bad seasons. ok, since we are on the same page, frustration, and money for salary will be a factor, the sox needs to make 2 trades from the pen, to get key players for next yr. 1 of'er or 1 infielder needs to get traded, if anyone would want them. again for major league ready players or prospects at least 2 yr away. other than that, some will call these moves as The White Flag Trade #2. b/c if the sox can't overcome this, this is what is needed. question, when is it enuf and pull the trade??
  6. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 06:56 PM) Got to respect leadoff power. I think Eaton might be playing too deep as a result of him getting turned around a few times on balls hit deep this season. To me, Eaton comes across as applying to much pressure on himself as well as over thinking. I could be wrong... o-fer from the 3,4,5 hitters.
  7. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 07:33 PM) That's just the damn problem. Everything has to cost controlled. You get what you pay for, the no heads up players that may show flashes of being good. If the Sox wanna act like small market team they need to develop talent, which they really don't or pay. They wanna do neither so you get these middle of the road players that the smart teams pass over. Lexis act has grown old. Time to move on i understand what you are saying, however this does not fix the ss position for next yr if you want Lexis gone. also, it really isn't the players fault for this results.... it is the owners.
  8. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 07:31 PM) Loyalty trumps performance in our beloved dysfunctional org. a very sad truth.
  9. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:06 PM) Too early yet. For one, teams including the White Sox are still sorting out whether they are buyers or sellers. Two, Samardzija needs to pitch more consistently to boost his trade value and that requires more starts and time. Patience sox fans, nothing needs to be decided yet. For all we know, this team could pull it together over the next month and may want to keep Samardzija for the rest of the season to make a September run at the playoffs. i am very much aware that this is too early. maybe all the talk of trading is getting to me. mostly, sometimes making a trade to shake the team up and at the same time fix major holes that the team has. the team never really made a REAL effort to fix these hole. this idea of a trade is more of necessity..... bad management in their decision making.
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:03 PM) I agree but, this team is filled with under performers right now. You can get on Eaton, but then there's Shark, Melky, Alexei, Danks, LaRoche, Gillaspie, Beckham, Sanchez, Flowers, Bonifacio, Quintana (to an extent). If the first 4 guys on this list plus Q were even playing close to their career numbers, Sox would be over 500 right now. all you need is 1 or 2 players to start the ball rolling. btw, it is not like Danks to not preform. i think it has all to do with his arm and past injury. lets keep this in perspective.
  11. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 02:58 PM) I understand this is Eaton venting frustration due to his under performing so far but he really needs to take a step back and think about how his childish actions could affect a team already playing poor baseball. If he wants to act like a child then treat him as one. Any time he b****es about a day off, I would sit him the next day until he learned to shut his trap. If he was playing better baseball, there would be no issues. This all comes back to Eaton's poor playing that has put coaches in a difficult position. After all, the TEAM is trying to get back into the race and Eaton's childish actions will not help. Eaton benched himself will poor play and at some point he will need to realise this. i don't know if it was meant to be childish more like frustration. the point is, he is not the only not preforming maybe players needs a kick on the back side to wake them up, to shake things up.
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 02:56 PM) If you wanna bench guys for not performing then we would have a 10 man roster. isn't there and old saying, go with the hot bat. anyway when did it stop of players needing to earn their right to play???
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:44 PM) Eaton dropping an "I just work here", doesn't exactly invoke a sense of harmony. good, i thought it was just me..... i really had a problem with that, but i thought it was me and my lack of sleep.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:30 PM) It happens, they just don't make a public show of it. and you are right, but something needs to kick start this team.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:29 PM) If you think Shuck is a better option than Eaton than I have some s*** to sell you the point is, in this situation, when hardly is preforming, the team should concertate on players who is preforming. until Eaton starts to show he is worthy of that position and to be in the lineup, then fine. btw, i congratulate on being a fine collector of feces. but i am not interested in prying you away from your pile.
  16. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 02:20 PM) Yeah, I forgot about Toronto and even the Yanks as possibilities for Samardzija. For some reason I think the Astros will look for pitching elsewhere but I've been wrong plenty of times before. answering the teams needs for help, this can be a good time to sell, and to the highest bidder.
  17. talked about emotions and coaches getting into players faces.... philly game yesterday. 3 coaches go into the face of pitcher Giles and it was caught on camera.... damn why couldn't the coaches get into some one face???? http://m.mlb.com/news/article/130362610/ke...er-escaping-jam
  18. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 01:27 PM) Micah's future if CF, to me. Shouldnt we get that transition going soon? Get value up for him in so doing Eaton of course has that contract. But what irks me a little there is how little we truly know about Eaton. Even his defense is this wild rollercoaster and point of debate amongst different def. metrics i believe his arm problems may not let do that.
  19. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 01:54 PM) Thanks for posting this. Gets the wheels turning.... If the Sox are unable to get on track, there are some very interesting possibilities for the trade deadline. The Dodgers, Padres and Giants are all likely to check in about Samardzija. Big NLW ballparks are a good fit for Samardzija. Interesting the Nat's could be looking for a 1B. LaRoche? Not sure the Nat's are looking for someone under contract through 2016 but a reunion does not sound too crazy. The Sox could slide Avi to DH and use Shuck or call up one of Coats or Thompson to see what they have to offer at the MLB level. The Mets and Yanks appear to be the teams that could have interest in Alexei. We should have a much better idea where the Sox stand a month from now. don't forget Tor they need both sp and rp. and hou.
  20. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 11:59 AM) That is what this franchise DESPERATELY needs - NEW OWNERSHIP! You cannot argue otherwise. Unless fortunes change and soon this year, it will mark the 30th year in 35 years of the current ownership's tenure in which they have FAILED to make it to the postseason. That is a terrible record and it explains why we have the fourth worst attendance in all of baseball. Jerry/Kenny/Rick have had their crack at this working together since '02, and except for one magical year a decade ago, their track record has been abysmal. Our sleeping giant of a franchise and our long suffering fan base so needs a shot of fresh blood in the form of new ownership, it's not funny. It is a fool's errand to think the current regime is capable of future results that won't look similar to that of the past 13 years. Reinsdorf purportedly advised his family not too long ago to sell the team in the future upon his passing. Perhaps if that's such a good idea at some point in the future, maybe he could do his family and all of us a favor by selling now so that this team could finally move in a far more positive direction than it's currently experiencing. a real nice point of view. i can't see anything in it that is not the truth. the bold, it is kinda of harsh........ but i still like it.
  21. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 05:51 AM) Colleen Kane ‏@ChiTribKane 5h5 hours ago Mark Parent said had a "great discussion" with Adam Eaton after initial meeting earlier today. Said, "He’s on board." Colleen Kane ‏@ChiTribKane 5h5 hours ago Adam Eaton said he didn't think closed door meeting was loud but otherwise is letting Parent address. "I just work here," he said. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0613-story.html I understand sending a message but Eaton gives everything he has all the time. He wouldn't be in MLB otherwise. He also gives the team a better chance at winning than JB Schuck does. i look at the stats and i would disagree.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 06:10 AM) http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2015/6/4/87289...-power-rankings Too bad Ramirez has decreasing demand with all the teams currently looking for help there. Trading LaRoche so quickly would be an admission of overreach by the front office. the decreasing value of these players has to be look at. however i believe that decreasing value will not affect the decision making of some of these teams.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 12:41 PM) Grandal, for one. Miguel Montero. Derek Norris. Trading with the Mets, Red Sox or Astros. trading for is another way to address what is needed. but then again what will be the cost.
  24. i just saw something on Winston Salem box score. Toby Thomas, is playing 3b. according to what i was able to read on him, he is a 1b and started at 1b. i wonder when they moved him? i wonder how he is doing defensively? i see he can hit, but all the little things that make a 3b good, does he have that?
  25. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:21 AM) Once we decided to make him the opening day 2B, we should have stuck with him longer than six weeks. His defense sucked but would have likely gotten better as the season progressed. Growing pains are simply part of the game. Unfortunately, we needed a scapegoat for the team's overall poor defense & fundamentals and decided the rookie 2B was the best candidate. Now we have to endure a guy with sub a .400 OPS, simply because "fix the defense" was our short-term goal at the time. the point is, he wasn't good enuf to make the big league, his defense needed work. the problem is, no in the FO wanted to see it that way. the fall back of rushing players. the other problem, imo the sox misjudge the situation and there were no other viable options avail
