  1. nice work in gather this new info. with re to my point, here are some links i look at this morning. http://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/crime...uter-crimes.htm http://www.cga.ct.gov/2012/rpt/2012-R-0254.htm bottom line the way this will be judge, to my precipitation is it will be up to the law enforcement agency and the DA. again i am not a lawyer or anything.
  2. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 07:30 AM) I will never, ever, ever, ever, never, believe this. They have the same people running the show. Anyone they bring up that is not a pitcher is often baseball clueless. There are not enough Spring trainings for this organization to work on fundamentals. plus the rushing of the prospects. they need reps.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 04:42 AM) That would be the single greatest acceptance speech of all time. niceeee...... btw.... in case anyone forgot. CLE LOST. .......... yessss. put that on the board.
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 05:36 AM) http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/06/lebron-jam...p;dlvrit=206567 Great read on LeBron's legacy. It's also interesting to think about how for so long LeBron was billed as a guy it would be easy to build a winner around. How he made his teammates so much better than Jordan did. Well, I guess it isn't anymore. LeBron is an enigma. He's best when he's dominating the ball and caring about others second. But his teams are best built for him to facilitate and involve others. The best teams to build around LeBron are ones that allow him to dominate the ball, but allow him to get others the ball. He needs to dominate and facilitate. The best team that I can think of for LeBron would have been the '10-'11 Bulls with him taking Rose's place. Noah and Boozer taking care of the boards, Deng handling tough defensive assignments and Brewer/Korver being out there for whatever is needed. Asik and Taj off the bench. Just forget Bogans. at first i thought WHAT??? then i continued to read what you wrote, you know, you are right. my bad. a very good analysis.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 04:10 AM) I'm happy for him and it was a great story, but wow was the Timonen trade f***ing awful. Two second round picks for a guy that was a healthy scratch multiple times and played all of 3:30 in the clincher. Whoever signed off on his fitness was dead wrong you have a point, looking back on hindsight, but for me, i really don't give a hoot about the trade, the hawks won the Lord Stanley's Cup. plus the system is still stocked with good prospects fighting to get playing time.
  6. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 06:03 AM) 1. getting rid of robin right now does nothing. trading players who aren't needed (during a much needed rebuilding phase) does a lot. 2. firing a guy who you reached out to, a guy who didn't even ask for the job, is a pretty s***ty thing to do. honestly I'd think even less of the Sox if they fired this dude. they should've never hired him to begin with, THAT'S the problem, they're f*cking inept. it was a nice, idea, maybe a good idea of promoting from within the ranks..... btw, great post.
  7. if some poster see and hesitant to call Sanchez a black hole in hitting, who would you call Davidson hitting?
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 03:14 AM) Unless KW is fired nothing will change even with RV gone. KW is head of the snake that needs to be cut off. KW is someone lap dog, but whose.
  9. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 03:11 AM) I'm the last person that will give him a pass. Especially if we become sellers. But he needs to do something to fix it. Right now it doesnt seem like the players realize they have a manager or an authority figure. here is the question, if the players are dialing it in, in other words gave up on listening to the coach, why??? first, why did that happen, then address the fix.
  10. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 03:09 AM) I'm not sure that I want him more involved. I don't quite understand why everyone is so apt to give Hahn a pass while denigrating KW as an incompetent. I agree with that assessment, but who was his right-hand man all those years? Where is the future? The big league squad is horrible, the farm system is better (compared to what it was), but its still not really having a very good year in terms of seeing prospects elevating their games and improving. The entire franchise needs an overhaul. If that included telling Hahn and KW to go grab a begging cup, I wouldn't lose too much sleep. b/c at the end of the day, KW was more involve in the managing of the team, as the real gm, plus the decision on keeping or the selections of all the coaches as well.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 11:56 PM) This was such a weird and satisfying cup win. Felt very different. -2010 just seemed to be destiny. It just seemed like their year, they had put in the time and growth. That team was loaded, probably more than any other in terms of depth, but obviously our stars are better now. -2013 I appreciated how hard it was to win a cup. The team had battled to two first round exits while they re-tooled, and those playoffs were HARD. Their ability to come from the depths against the Red Wings to me was the real beginning of the hawks I will remember: the ones who you just knew would come back. - 2015 - A decidedly different regular season. Battling through major injuries and sporadic play that seemed to show up in the non cup years. Weirder to me this playoffs was the lack of a big playoff forward just getting in front of the net like buff and bickell. The defense and goaltending ended up great. The last two games I think I did take for granted that the Lightning very rarely could get a shot off without a backcheck on their stick, or player to block in front. When they DID get space you saw how dangerous they were, but man was that rare. I can't really tell the difference between 96-98 bulls, but man have these cups been so different and satisfying in different ways. This is the sports moment you crave as a fan. You not only get to enjoy fantastic hockey, but be fans of it. excellent and i am going off your excellent post. this playoff games, i really saw how really talented and deep they really were. the main stars were trying but couldn't really get a whole lot going. the others came forward. can anyone say anything less positive of the group of dman and the goalie. look at the minutes the dmans logged. wow, more than Chelly. this off season if going to be tough with the salary cap and all, but i really want to enjoy the moment.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 11:27 PM) Soxfest is missing, everybody! http://bit.ly/1R6mrvc oh this is a great find..... i got to find a way to keep this.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 10:42 PM) How could it be connected to Terrorism or the Patriot Act? I think that's a bit of a stretch, expecting front office execs to be sent to Gitmo. It might be scaring some of the higher ups though, that the particular individuals involved will argue that DeWitt, LaRussa/Matheny and Mozeliak all knew about this. that will be up to the judge, i did not make the laws. it is how the powers to be see it. remember this, this is still relatively a new area of concerns with no gray areas for interpretation. btw, i did not make up the Terrorist act. it is a legal definition on this kind of crime.
  14. QUOTE (SouthWallace @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 08:11 PM) Eaton CF Ramirez SS Abreu 1B Cabrera LF Garcia RF Gillaspie 3B Soto C Sanchez 2B Quintana P pic.twitter.com/ySdGiMoQeF interesting lineup. #4 .... i would like to see the results.
  15. oh man, this is going to open a can of worms and i wouldn't be surprise if there would be something in the new CBA. the mlb has a limited recourse. 2 mil and i really can't see anything else. again i am not a lawyer or anything. the things is, if it is not listed in the books, mlb exec can not add it and expect to punish then. there will be some jail time coming, this is a Class B felony and the federal law enforcement agency are involve, if they suspect someone, then the feds are going to apply pressure. btw, if convicted, up to 20 yrs in jail for those who were part of or had knowledge of the crime. if it is based on the Terrorist act, this is mandatory time, no prorole. when this starts, there is no stopping or turning back. you can probably expect life banned. then there will be a slew of civil actions on many fronts. people will be fighting to get some sort of plea bargin. it is going to get real messy.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 09:20 PM) He used the NHL to boost his own personal business, ie he made money for himself off of the NHL. And lets not act like he wasnt tremendously successful without the NHL. Wirtz liquor distribution is huge, it provides 33 percent of liquor sales to the state of Illinois. It doesnt need the blackhawks he got his start with the hawks and i forgot all the vending that hawks does for their minor league in rockford. with making money, he used his connections with the nhl and with the tampa bay owners, the Espo brothers, and of providing most of what i already mention. i also forgot to mention, he has his hands in the soda vending to the bull, hawks, rockford. as i said before, i will not dispute what you are saying, i am agreeing. believe on this point, i know a crap lot more of the $$$. of the sports in chi. here is another story, the Bears owners was complaining in the press of how they are not making money or gettng a stadium deal. Bill was so pissed, he just told the bears owners to name a price and he would buy the bears. mccaskey back off.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 07:59 PM) Yea, and what we are trying to tell you is that Bill Wirtz didnt put any money into sub companies, extras, equipment, front office, stadium, or anything else. He took the money he made from the NHL and kept it. Hence, he was a terrible, terrible owner btw, by this statement, i totally agree with you. but he knew how to make money.
  18. Hence, he was a terrible, terrible owner bill writz owns the licquer company that provided the licquer to the games, he was part owners for the vending companies that provided the cups, napkins, and other paper goods to the team and yes toliet paper. thru the bismark vending or restaurant, they provided all the snacks and other food staples that the other vendors sold, plus the deal from Budweiser for being the beer of choice esp at a discount for both the bulls and hawks where it is shared with the bulls owners. parking lot, and other advertising.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 08:56 PM) Penny and Drabek are both in AAA. AAA is full of guys like Drabek and Penny. You can't be trying to stretch this into guys on the AAA roster actually meaning something, are you? That isn't "mismanagement", that is baseball team management. Peruse the AAA rosters of other teams as see what I mean. ok, i will give you that for this sake, now come up with a better point of mismangement for what i pointed out. post #187
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 08:39 PM) So by your own logic, the White Sox are actually well managed, because when Noesi failed, they had one of the top pitching prospects in baseball waiting to fill the need of the parent team. i never said, nor implied, nor even hinted at that. quit stretching to trip me up. i been on the beaten path of getting a another pitchers and yes b****ing that the rebuild was not finished. i was never confident on Noesi and i even mention it on that blow up i had. i even mention not to trust on something but to go out and get insurance, another pitchers. edit.... i have been whining and sniveling on what was not finished but again got retreads in Penny, Drabek. for starters.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 08:40 PM) Bet the house. Cavs are going to win tonight and win the Series. LeBron is motivated. LeBron is insanely motivated. Only way GS wins is if the West truly is destined to beat the weaker East every year. i will be really pissed if they do.
  22. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) Profit is only a tiny portion of the measure of competency for a sports franchise. If your only motivation is profit, then owning a sports team is a terrible investment. Yes, you need to make a little bit of money, or at least not lose a bunch, but the primary measure of competency for an owner of a sports franchise is the performance of the team. but owning and making a profit from the parent club is one way. getting all the sub companies that provide the "extra's" to the team. that is where the real profits comes in.
  23. all this will be subjective. so 1. Phil 2. Q. 3. Dika - 85 4. ozzie - ws season 5. T. Larussa 6. Iron Mike Keenan.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 07:18 PM) How do you compare mismanagement without it being compared to how the other teams do things? Where do you set a level of relative management at exactly, if you aren't look at anyone else to do it? first by the level of success. on another thread ref hockey a discussion was how Bill made tons of money, that is all. that is 1 way, let the owners make money and to hell with the fans. then come back and say the fans are not attending the games. second, some like the gauge success of the team by the times the make the playoff, third, by how many winning seasons they have had, how the systems of stocked and ready to fill a need to the parent club. so there is a couple ways to judge mismanagement. esp if the system is the laughing stock, or articles are written on how much of a ...... (my words here) joke the front office is.
  25. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 08:08 PM) Well said. They had some cringe worthy moments vs. Nashville and they should have never let Anaheim go to 7 games, but it was more of a "Last year was bulls***, the Cup is ours and we are here to take it back". Even leading up to last night, I like barely even thought about them losing, it just didn't seem possible. They were gonna clinch at home, because they wanted it that way.
