QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 05:12 PM) Are we done crying in our beer yet? Motivation to win comes from within each individual. These players are professionals and will give their best. After four games we are once again hating on Beckham, calling for Ventura to be axed and looking at Semien and Shark trade as a failure. I think what we have going for us is to be in a divson where all teams will beat up on each other and once we start rolling, which hopefully is today, we can make up four games after all we have 158 left. on a side not, while i do like your post, i still never did like that trade.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 04:26 PM) We better see some life from the offense today because Pelfrey sucks. As bad as the pitching has been, the lineup should be embarrassed by their performance so far. One run or less in three of four games is a f***ing joke. so in other words, the whole team performance sucks. i 100% agree, the sox win their first game today. if the sox don't win, i will not post anything for 1 week on anything except for updating the minors. if the sox win, i get a free pass to goes off on the owners without any hate.... during the season.

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 04:09 PM) I'm curious about this as well, Flowers was getting booed to hell yesterday but Noesi threw like 5-6 pitches that didn't even reach the dirt. I'm betting Noesi was just terrible to handle yesterday. as a plausible excuse, i wonder if they were overhype, just trying too hard to do well??

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) Heres the problem...lets say theres a pattern that shows up....that theyre five times more likely to arrest or testify in a trial against minority defendants than white/caucasian. Lets say the police force in general is three times more likely....so in their cases, theres an increase of 67%. Who's to determine the bar/standard/benchmark that crosses the line into fireable offense territory? Does it matter if the policed community is 12.5% African American or 33% or 50%? Theres a clear pattern of racial profiling across the country...but when does it veer into a civil rights violation/abuse of power? i hate to bring this up, well i lied, i feel i need to bring this up. using that broad of demographics is not the right way, the tell all way. for me coming from the 24 and cali in chi, i am going to use the little village are for my example. if a cop is doing their job, their arrest / traffic tickets etc... will be more in the hispanic side of those stats you are providing. so where the cops are station, the area or the district they are assign will skewed those stat's up really in a 1 sided results. statistically it is going to be extremely hard to make a case. so here is a rhetorical question, using stat will not be a proven end all and will not to be reliable, what other way can be use to find quilt.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 12:05 PM) I wouldn't bet on it, either...but I'd prefer to let the conclusions of the investigation tell the tale versus guessing because I saw a few ignorant text messages which encompass a two minute snippet of their lives, while not knowing a single thing these guys did the other X number of years they've been alive. Could it be they're completely ignorant racists? Absolutly. And if that's the case, make an example out of them as a warning to all others. I have no issue with this. Could it be a few of them got caught up trying to 'fit in' with the rest of the group, had a very poor lapse in judgement and took part in the ignorance? Yes. And if this is the case, perhaps some other form of punishment, short of ruining their lives is in order. If they're fired, their lives are absolutely destroyed. They won't find other jobs, they will be shamed endlessly, etc., so if we are to take that route, forgive me for wanting to be absolutely sure they (and their bystander families) deserve it. All I can say is if any of you ever f*** up, you'll be praying you get someone like me to be your judge/jury, because holy hell. 2nd chances and all that stuff, i can understand the reasoning. i am a living example of that. but with PO's, and the fact they can hurt many with their decisions, if they are bad, do what is necessary. but by the law.... follow the rules, Dot the I's and Cross the T's to make sure they have no simple way to come back, thru the appeals rt. also make sure that the action they are following is the right one, by the rules that has been already setup and by default by the law. not b/c it is a PR move. if actual rules were broken, then follow the procedure establish thru with the proper disciplinary route and process.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 02:47 PM) I don't think there was a problem with sprimg training. Abreu hit over .500 and he is 3-14. Courney Hawkins was the spring breakout, he is 1-9 with 4 ks in AA. I just think they got off to a rough start and the pressing has begun. Besides, if anyone thinks spring training is the problem, you then can't project Sale having success since his spring was a lot shorter than the others. well you are right about sale getting hurt, and beside Abreu, i would have like to see the regulars have more time in game situation. also as you an many have said, the season is still 4 games old.

jeeze, Davidson, seems to have picked up where he left last season. striking out alot. Webb is my guy, but what has happen to him? yeah i know it is still early. oh, btw...... many thanks for the write up.

i am really surprise that i am calm, well overall, not at this point in time. anyway, this team will start to win. it is 4 games into the season. i am still going to stick to my prediction of wins-lost by the ASG.

QUOTE (thigpen89 @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 01:33 PM) Beat me to it! I think Shark's gone by the trade deadline. welcome to the best sports forum. 1. when the team turns this around, this will be a fun season. 2. Jeff will also turn it around, but he is still will go the FA rt. 3. i am wondering, has the team really saw enuf games during spring training? i know they really showed alot of the prospects playing, which was great, but in games.... i am wondering if the team saw enuf.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 03:13 AM) May 17th, 2019 i am more than sure the sox will win a game on that day as well. pencil it in.

i am in no mood, i am sobering up, and i am getting a head ache.... but i do have to say, i am really impress with the posters on soxtalk. no lets hang robin, no the pitchers really suck, no we over estimated this team..... mine would be the sox are in this hole b/c of overestimating or getting penny as a pitcher. it is early and yous guys are great.... no pointing fingers.

last nite went and saw furious 7..... great entertainment. glad kurt russell was in the movie. i always like him as a actor. he was good in lots of early movies esp Tequila Sunrise. my date started to tear up on the ending.... i think i like her. not ashame of that. that kool. today left the sports club early, couldn't stomach it any longer, we went to see women in gold. i was sobering up by this time, so i think i have to see it again. but my impression...... a great freaking movie. unusual directing and editing. i like it. i think it is new. i opinon, in a hazy way of judgeing...... academy award movie. the directing and editing of this movie is, i think something new in the way they did it, i think. i can't recall it being done like this or for a great amount in the movie. this is and will be, i believe it will get recognize come academy award time. whew.... i should refrain from making any post when i am, umm not in the condition to type,

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 07:20 PM) That is a stretch to believe these guys could remain objective and do their jobs. They could but if I were a betting man, I'd bet the house they couldn't. they can't that is why they should have a police ethical standards board for something like this... i thinki i am writing this right.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 02:32 AM) Tyler Jay, Kevin Duchene and Illinois baseball is very good. i had a little too much refreshment listening to the game.... so i am in no mood to update college today... tomorrow.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 05:55 PM) He was the mets top catching prospect that me, and probably others, desperately wanted to get from NY in a package for Alexei. Obviously our off-season went in the opposite direction. Jakson Reetz will be the minor league catcher I follow and say "if only". any word today on how Jakson Reetz played???

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 04:27 PM) He didn't say that, he's talking about this specific circumstance. thanks ..... that is why i asked this the way i did.... i figured as much.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 02:34 PM) Expect this of me? I barely post in here but you think you know about me? Ok. Cops shouldn't go to jail but losing their jobs is more than reasonable. i am coming in on the tail end of this conversation, so pls do not get upset. cops should never go to jail????

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 02:59 AM) danman31 wrote up this one, looking at our A+ team The Dash. Six T30 names on that roster! Who are you looking forward to watching? oh man, i am like a kid in a candy store. i want to see them all. joking aside, i just came to the realization that i really am hype on the pitchers in the org. i seriously would like to see almost all of them. i am also realizing that with ref to positional players, this part of the org is really lacking.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 08:03 AM) I really do appreciate what you guys said about it being difficult to shoot a guy in the leg or in the hand. I guess I expect too much when life and death is on the line and if the officer thinks his life is in jeopardy obviously he wants to shoot to kill lest his wife be a widow and kids not have a dad. Maybe they could work on it a bit at officer camp on running targets and tell the officers that not all situations are alike. Some situations are obviously not life threatening to the officer like this one. This one is just so ridiculous. I'm glad he got charged with murder. Anybody know if he bailed out? Greg, no offense intended.... i can see how you might be a non-violence kind of person, but this is also not a clint eastwood>dirty harry kind of movie. the cops put their life on the line every time they go to work, the good one, need as much help in their performance of their job. some idiot come out and threaten them with a weapon, the cops have a right to protect themselves. plain and simple. peace.

i am having a hard time in this decision. the commonalty or people rights is now being brought into question. there is, and it is stated in the bill of rights, the freedom to express one self without fear of retribution. the right to have a formed opinion with others. that is the law. people give up that right, what else will next be bought up, your right to not to go to church. yeah this is outlandish idea, but substitute the example and put whatever thoughts you want, it is still the same. oops, i guess that may not be allowed.... it is against someone having a informed opinion. they have rights, i am talking about that only, not the contents of what is being express.
