  2. You're appreciated every day--not just today.
  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 29, 2005 -> 03:55 AM) What's a good song to describe your life at the moment? I still haven't found what I'm looking for (U2) -or- Out of Range (Ani)

    Films

So, not actually a movie...But some friends and I watched a few episodes of the series Wonder Falls tonight. It only had like 3 episodes aired or something--but it was really funny and good. Interesting. Just a consideration for a night in and renting a dvd.

    Films

I went and saw The Interpreter at the dollar theatre tonight. And, man, I wish I still had my dollar. I felt like the movie dragged on forever, and after one critical scene I turned to my friend and said, oh, so that means that blah, blah, blah. Thus ruining and spoiling the end of the movie. Anyway, it was predictable and Nicole Kidman seemed to think that if she spoke kind of huskily that would make the film more dramatic. And Sean Penn's character's side story was pointless. The whole film was crap and, honestly, I could have made it better by leaving a 1/3 of it on the cutting room floor. Two thumbs down.
  6. Happy, Happy Birthday to the smartest guy on here! Have a wonderful one (and a few good beers too)!

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:42 AM) The last time I rented a car the required age was 23... Depends on where--I think in some places it's 25. I'm under that--but recently had to rent a car (due to totalling mine)--I COULD rent it. But it was more expensive because of the extra insurance for drivers under 25.

  9. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ May 25, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) Ugh. Why, is this still going.... ^^^^^^
  10. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ May 25, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) Now my mind has gone south. No, they're up north! And, Ian, if Ross doesn't show up, I'll still need someone to jump out of my cake.
  11. Thanks All! I had a wonderful birthday of hiking around the finger lakes and bike riding around a state park. Plus an Italian dinner. It doesn't get any better than this. Thanks again--and I'm still hoping Ross shows up. I've got 2 hours left on my birthday and I'm sure he won't disappoint.
  12. Congrats! That's awesome. Good luck with the business--my dad owned his own for a while. Lots of work, but nice to be your own boss. Plus, then you won't have to work for another idiot boss again. Best of luck!
  13. And tomorrow the 'rents and I are going to go biking around the Finger Lakes (with my new bike!). I've not been there even though I'm so close--hopefully it will be beautiful, fun and not too cold and rainy. I am very excited.

  15. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ May 23, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) Albert Lea area (where I35 and I90 meet up) I used to sometimes drive through there on my way home (when I missed my normal exit on 35) from college....

  17. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ May 23, 2005 -> 06:56 PM) Thats why I liked him. I didnt agree with a lot of his issues. Now Norm. He used to be a Democrat when he was mayor of St. Paul. Then he switched to the Republicans. I forgot the reason why. He was asked on 'Real Time with Bill Mahere' why, and he didnt answer the question which seems to be a common occurance for him. He gives you the party line answer. Real vague. The reason the Republican party like him is because he can raise a boatload of money real quick like. And he is from a 'blue state' I agree--both about Wellstone and Coleman. Coleman is notoriously an ass (or, at least was, when I lived in MN). Not to mention his rude behavior during the Wellstone funeral (yawning, checking his watch, staring at members of the congregation--a friend of mine that's higher in the MN DFL sat a few seats down and was appalled). Very slippery and slimey guy. Although, rumor had it he was hand picked to run against Wellstone. Despite his very leftist leanings--I think that Wellstone was a genuine, kind, and hard working man. And, oddly enough, honest too. I had the pleasure to meet him and Sheila a couple of times and was always blown away by their humanness. Minnesota lost two great citizens upon their deaths.....

    Star Wars

I didn't see episode 1 or 2--would it be worth seeing Sith anyway? I've seen the older moves. Thanks guys!
  19. He's been amazing. A fact I love to tell to the Spankees fans. I'm thrilled to have him in our rotation....

    Gagne?

QUOTE(BobDylan @ May 21, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) Oh, because god forbid me to have forgotten that we had won today. So sorry. How can you say he hasn't been a shadow of his former self when he's pitched in only two games? In his first game back, he gave up 2 ER...oh, so let's shoot the old horse in the foot and call it quits. His next outing he gave up no hits, no walks and struck out two...not to mention he fanned 3 in his first outing back. You might as well say it's worthless to get Frank Thomas off the DL because we're fine as is and he hasn't been the Thomas of old. Give me a break. When you can reply to me in a civil/non-rude manner I will give your opinions some credence.

QUOTE(BobDylan @ May 21, 2005 -> 07:01 PM) Future? We're 30-12, the future is NOW. Actually, we're 31-12. Which I see as having no bearing on your desire to trade away our farm system for a closer that this year hasn't even been a shadow of his former self.

QUOTE(BobDylan @ May 21, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) Can somebody show me a list that ranks farm systems and the success that actually resulted from it? I wouldn't be surprised to see that most of the top farm systems result in not much, or barely getting into the playoffs. And yea, a starter going down is a risk, but when October comes, you don't need 5 starters. But when something we actually NEED to trade for having pillaged our farm system for a superfluous "hole" would be bad. And, as previously mentioned, the payroll being added would be detrimental to the team. Give me Hermy and resign AJ with that money and I think we'll be a better team (now and in the future).
  23. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 21, 2005 -> 06:47 PM) If I attend Marquette (which is a good possibility), I'm definitely going to become a Brewers fan. With all of those kids coming up, Fielder, Weeks, etc, it's gonna be hard not to like that team... Especially when they get to beat the Scrubs so much each season.....
