Irresponsible Journalism
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 17, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) Apparently, rules for handling the Quran at Gitmo, which have been in effect for two years, are such that the Quran can only be touched by chaplains. These chaplians have to wear gloves. The detainees are supposed to see the chaplains putting on the gloves. Isn't it the same way with orthodox Jews and the Torah at temple? Way back in my memory I seem to remember them having to wear gloves and be a man in good standing. Could be wrong.

Irresponsible Journalism
QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ May 16, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) Um, so what do you call it when a news magazine releases a story and then admits that the source of the information is flawed? Back to your anti-American bulls***... Nope, Kip's right.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 16, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) Think they should grant the delay to see if he's a match for her...?? Yes, gives him a chance to give something back (albeit too little too late). And, it's not like he's going to be needing it.

Cancelled, Renewed, and Picked Up
I don't actually have a tv.... But I usually go to someone's house to watch (either live or Tivo'ed) Arrested Development & CSI: Las Vegas and old episodes of this cartoon called Invader Zim. I've also seen The Office a few times and it was pretty funny.

Just started using this site--as a weird time killing/procrastinating device. It's soooo addicting. However, helped me reconnect with a lot of old high school friends (and college friends, since I graduated)....

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 11, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) 60 days. It is fat soluble, not water soluble too Also depends on how often you use. If you do it once every very great while (6 mos or so) there's some indication it can be gone in under a week. The more often you use it, the longer it takes to get out of your system.

Flub fans are dumber than I thought
This one doesn't seem so dumb (from Today's Trib): Dear Cubs: The problem is you Clyde Helwink Published May 14, 2005 ELMHURST -- My love for the Cubs goes back to the days when Hank Sauer was the Mayor of Wrigley Field. It seems that in all that time, the only thing the Cubs lead the league in is excuses: goats, wind blowing in, cheap owners, Bartman, day baseball, Wrigley Field, black cats, wind blowing out, etc. Last year, when the Cubs collapsed in the last two weeks of the season, it was a boombox. And this year it's the old reliable: injuries. It's time for Cubs players to look in the mirror to see what the problem is

PETA Kills Animals!
I am all for treating animals ethical--but being against animal testing for drugs, genetics, etc is just irresponsible. Being the the psych department--I get comments from my students all the time about testing on animals (i.e. Animal testing = nazism). Obviously it's not pretty and should be done respectfully--but it's completely naive to think the advancements we make in medical and technology would happen without animal testing....

QUOTE(mreye @ May 10, 2005 -> 10:21 AM) Or J Lo. The sad thing is, I'm serious. Renee is going to play Janis. It's going to be awful.... Although she might tie JLo for shortest marriage with this one...
