QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) i think you misunderstand what I am saying. I am saying that you have to have a different mindset for each film. You can't just judge movies by one thing. For example if you go to 2 Fast 2 Furious with the same mindset as the Godfather. If you did that you would hate it. However if you go in not expecting a really smart movie but an entertaining movie with great action scenes than you will like it. Oh ok, that makes sense. I'll think of some movies later.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) I got to thinking that there are so many bad movies that are out that you like. Roger Ebert explained it best when he said in his review of The Fast & The Furious "There are so few great movies that you have to learn to love the great trash." That is so true in so many ways. Here are my "great trash" movies: Bad Company Tomcats Big Daddy Blade III: Trinity Resident Evil Scary Movie 3 Hmm... I don't really agree with what Ebert said because I love movies and I have seen many many many! that I have liked. If I don't like a movie I don't watch it anymore or "learn" to like it. I am not saying I have watched more movies than Ebert lol, but if I don't like a movie that's it nothing else to it. To add on to this list though of a movie that got bad reviews but was fairly decent was The Jacket. The story was ofcourse unoriginal, but there were a few things I liked about it.

Well so far they have not resigned Wickman, Elarton, Millwood, and lost Howry. Anyone else I am missing? I don't know if they will have enough money to re-sign all of them so they might have to find cheaper replacements. They will still be very good but Millwood held that rotation down and Howry along with Wickman were getting stuff done for their bullpen. I am hoping they degress a little because they had one hell of a team last season.

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) Ugh... you gota take Aaron off there. That's absolutely brutal.. Yeah it's really nice, but it still hurts to see Aaron gone.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) Munoz is probably better against lefties because of that big Curveball he has I thought the problem with Munoz is that he has control issues. He really has been in the distance lately though, I doubt he he pitches for us again. Same with Diaz (although he is not a lefty.)

Wow this is a little surprising to me. He had a good year last year too. Good luck to you Cal.

Getting Iguchi out of the two spot
Whitewashed in '05 replied to TheHammer's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I am sorry but this isn't such a good idea at all. The reason we have Pods besides his ability to foul off pitches and work the counts is because hes fast and can disrupt a pitchers rhythm as well as the defense rhythm. -
I am very sad to see you go Big Frank. I hope nothing but the best for you where ever you are. You are the reason sox fans are well...sox fans. You are a White Sox for life in my book. You are the best hitter in White Sox history and at your best one of the elite in the history of baseball. Thanks for the memories Big Hurt. To #35

Official: Konerko Signs With White Sox
Whitewashed in '05 replied to knightni's topic in Pale Hose Talk
PK!!!!!!!! Time to do it again big man!!! I am really glad to have you back no doubt about it. Welcome to your new role as captain!!!! YYYYES! This leaves me a little sad since FT will no longer be with us. A great guy and an even better baseball player. I wish you nothing but the best Big Hurt. I'm gonna miss you! -
I thought most people knew about his hip condition. Anyway, like we all predicted it's up to us and LAA. KW will offer him the fifth year if he has to which will probably happen. I just hope his little trip to LAA hasn't got him all excited to move to the west.

did Howry leave the Sox on bad terms?
Whitewashed in '05 replied to LosMediasBlancas's topic in The Diamond Club
Looks like someone is still steaming about getting rocked on one of his last outings as an Indian. Screw him. -
QUOTE(OilCan @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) Thanks R44.... OK then. IMO, it seems that the hip is not a bone of contention, no pun intended. So let's say Paulie signs a 5 yr $65 mil deal with the Sox, and a mutual option for a 6th year. Does that seem risky? Will it be worth the risk? IMO, yes it would be. Paulie's numbers have been going up, not down. If Paulie keeps getting treatment and conditioning to at least temper that hip, then I feel that his numbers won't falter. What does anyone else think? Well the thing is that it can flare up anytime like Hermy and Crede's back problems or not bother him too much at all. Kong is a big man too so you hope it doesn't effect him too much.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) No real suprise there, however it does tell me that money is not the only thing that is going to get Kong to his final destination. I dont think he is going to see a better offer than that, but I could be wrong... Exactly what I thought. The best the halos have to offer that can top us is that their in the west coast. I am sure the sox will be close if not offer the same contract as the angels.

Cool, been waiting for it. Thanks

Well I think a DVD would be cool, you just have to know what the guy likes. Just get a movie with someone he likes in it. Can't go wrong there. As far as getting someone something only after a month a DVD is ok. Think of it this way, if it were his bday would u not get him anything? You don't have to give him a gift but something thoughful and inexspensive is enough. Christmas is sort of important especially if you like the guy. So as long as you don't overdo it then it's alright. This ofcourse is my personal opinion.

QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) best thread ever LOL YES! I really don't grow mullets I grow helmets. I don't know if you've ever heard of that term but it's not a mullet. It's when your hair is so shaggy and long the whole way around your head that it looks like you have a football helmet covering your head.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) The thing is, he's not. Yeah and Rowand won a GG !!KOOLNESS!! To me he is, he got robbed.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) That would be Mark Shapiro. Well I think he meant the true Executive of the Year. Thats how I took it at least.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) Executive of the Year to be exact... HELL YEAH! f*** SHAPIRO!!! Kenny Williams....YES!
-
QUOTE(Wanne @ Nov 25, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) Yeah...if he regains his confidence and doesn't come in and immediately walk the first two batters he faces. If he could be used in a package...I wouldn't cry losing him. I think he cost me 2 remotes last year when he'd come in! LOL! I agree that we better hold onto Marte and Duque. Hermy is questionable and you never know what can happen. Even though I don't have much confidence in this happening, I am expecting a comeback year for Marte.

White Sox acquire Jim Thome per ESPNnews
Whitewashed in '05 replied to Punch and Judy Garland's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) Oh man, it's Jim f***ing Thome. We didn't get ripped off. Rowand was garbage on offense, but he played great defense that will be basically made up by Anderson. Haigwood and Gio are years away, and I'd be willing to bet that neither of them reaches their potential enough to make this trade suck. If KW hasn't earned your respect and trust yet, then there's nothing more to add. I think the reason why a lot of people like me are mad is because we lost a symbol of our world champion sox in 05. He is the definition of White Sox baseball and it hurts to see him leave even if it is for Jim Thome. I understand the big plus with Thome, but Rowand's departure hurts me. Rowand is a gamer and has a great personality, something I want from every White Sox. With that said I hope he has a great career and we will miss him. -

I am gonna trust KW with this because I believe he knows what he is doing. I heard about this trade like at 3:00 and I am still shocked. Better yet, I am angry. Just thinking that Aaron will not be back next season pisses me the f*** off. I don't know... :headshake -
Give KW the benefit of the doubt...
Whitewashed in '05 replied to NCsoxfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) Actually, I believe it was El Duque saying that and not KW. But point taken. Not exactly, I remember reading KW saying El Duque passed with flying colors. Anyway, just because a player passes a physical doesn't mean that he won't get hurt anymore. Thome better be ready to play when called on next season. -
Poll: Do you like the Rowand for Thome deal?
Whitewashed in '05 replied to dmbjeff's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(chisoxfan14 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) i absolutly hate it! A-row was our guy! What about his defense!! oh my aaron rowand..how could kenny do this! I have confidence in Anderson. On the other hand I am not totally confident in Thome's health.
