QUOTE (since56 @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 10:35 AM) I'm hoping Sale becomes closer now and forever. If he can be good or great in that role it solves a problem for a long time to come. Imagine the numbers he could put up if started successfully closing this year and had a long career. If he can be a solid closer why try to do more with him. Isn't closer important enough? With the arm and the presence he has on the mound he can be so much better than a closer. Unless injuries start flaring up there's no reason not to start him in long term.

This is awesome. We just keep getting better. I'm getting really excited for next season...

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
Whitewashed in '05 replied to Leonard Washington's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Good luck to Bobby. I wish him the best. He was part of the select few players that helped the sox achieve something that generations of fans didn't get to witness. And he had a large role in it. Nothing but love for Bobby. -
This is on Yahoo's home page now!

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) via Heyman, Lee has 2 seven year offers, said NYY and Rangers weren't expecting to go beyond 6, so might be 2 mystery teams Cliff Lee is a stud, but damn, that's a long contract to sign for a pitcher that's 32. -
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 02:08 AM) I just finished a marketing assignment due tomorrow. Now I'm working on a 10 minute presentation & power point for a film culture class. After this, I have 3 2-page analyses to do and then go over another 4-6 minute presentation for tomorrow. Yay. I have you beat. This week I have: 2 presentations 3 projects 2 papers 2 finals 2 homework assignments

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) I'm studying on a weekend night for only the 2nd time ever. I hate final exams... (of course, I say that but I've really been on SoxTalk/TalkBulls the last half hour) Good luck, I hate them too. I usually do homework on Sunday nights... or Sunday throughout the day to be correct. If I do any work Friday or Saturday nights it's because I've really got a s*** load of things I have to do. Happens once or twice a semester. 2nd time ever for you?... you're lucky.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 01:22 PM) Jamie Moyer to have Tommy John surgery today. Vows to pitch again in 2012 when he will be 49. That's a hell of a passion for him to want to go through the extensive recovery and come back to pitch again. Hell, teams wouldn't be lining up for his services right now if he were healthy... what about after TJ and at 49? What's the best he can do after? A minor league contract with a ST invite? -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 12:58 AM) Due Date was hilarious imo. I thought it was pretty funny as well.

Juan Uribe Is About To Get Paid...

Congrats for Juanny. He always played hard. The contract may be a little much, but good for him. -
Phil Rogers Must be on drugs

Wasn't he a decent writer a while ago? I remember him calling the Bartolo Colon trade and KW being surprised by it. -
QUOTE (scenario @ Nov 25, 2010 -> 11:23 AM) Floyd is a MUCH more valuable asset than he's getting credit for here. I agree. He may be very streaky, but he is a solid 3/4 starter and was 7 innings short of 200 IP in 09 and 13 innings short of 200 in 10 AND he is cheap.

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 01:49 PM) Still remember a bomb he hit off of Contreras to CF in Anaheim which was the first pitch after a mound visit. Unfortunately, me too... I was there. -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 14, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) I love when this commercial comes on only because of the woman in the black lingerie. She's alright, she's got some nice legs though.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 13, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) With Miller going out, and Maybin being shopped, its time to say that the Marlins blew that Cabrera deal. That's so unfortunate for that organization and unacceptable at the same time. Trading elite talent like Cabrera and not getting back any proven players is unacceptable. I'm not trying to compare Danks to Cabrera, but if Danks is traded we better get proven players back. -
As someone else said, 500 MB is astronomical. I don't even think the average person uses that a month. However, there are many stories about users with smartphones getting raped for international charges even when they're on airplane mode because the phone sends pings to cellular towers.

We all know KW and know that he will listen to an offer for anyone so just because Yahoo is reporting this doesn't mean in the slightest that Beckham is going to be traded. I don't see KW trading him unless he really gets "bowled over" as he likes to say.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 10:17 AM) I checked one out last night at the Sprint store and it had the extended battery on it. He was saying if you're getting 4G it really hammers the battery. Anyway...it seemed uncomfortably large with that battery. Anyone here use that? No. There's a widget you can simply press to turn 4G on/off. If you get the Evo just google battery life and tune it per the recommendations. You'll be okay unless you're a really heavy user.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 10:57 AM) The HTC Evo 4G is the greatest invention of ever.
