  1. So what do you guys recommend for meal replacement ready to go drinks? I see some people like Muscle Milk. Any others? What do you guys think of EAS myoplex?
  2. QUOTE (Stocking @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 11:12 PM) Heavy Rain official release date February 23. "Blows Uncharted 2 away" CES I've never heard about this game until you mentioned it. It looks awesome. It seems like the story is a movie.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) I am going to crawl waaaaay out on limb and say that Pods doesn't scare me nearly as much as Maggs, Crede, Frank, or Cameron... Haha no, definitely not. Just adding some more players to the ex sox killers list.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) Thomas and Crede Magglio also had hit after hit vs us in the beginning. You can also add Cameron.
  5. I haven't used it yet, but mozy.com comes highly recommended to me.
  6. I've heard good things about Infamous on PS3. What do you guys think? I can get it for about $25 on ebay. I was thinking about getting Resident Evil 5, but my cousins got it so I think I'll just borrow it from him when he beats it.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 05:03 PM) I am really similar, only worse. I might get 2-3 games a year and play them for a few weeks and then not play again for months and months. A few games I played a lot were Uncharted, Oblivion, and Dead Space. Then I stopped playing almost entirely. I bought NHL 09' and played it for like an hour. I bought Resistance of Man on sale for like $30 and it's been sitting here, unopened, since before Christmas last year. I like games, but I need to be in a certain mood to play them, and once I get out of that mood, it is very difficult for me to get back in it. Maybe I am just growing out of it? I do watch a crapload of blu ray on the PS3 though, so at least I don't feel too badly about it going to waste. I thought that myself that I'm growing out of it, but then I hear and see some of these games and I'm like I have to play that! I get it and a couple weeks later... I just lose interest. I know one thing for sure though, learning all the controls and after putting it down for a while I forget and I don't feel like learning all over again. I have to try some of these games suggested though. I'm glad I use my PS3 for movies and netflix as well.
  8. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 03:20 PM) The God of War Collection is a winner. I didn't play the first two games when they were originally released on the PS2 (I have no idea why) so this is a new experience for me and one that I'm thoroughly enjoying. The game looks great in remastered 720p, it almost feels like a PS3 original. I have to check those out one day. I've heard so much about GoW. I was also wondering how good it was since it's just an old game ported over to PS3.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 10:34 AM) The key is to only buy games with a lot of replayability. I have three games. Madden 10, NHL 10, and MW2 (yes, I caved). Madden 10 has the online franchise, which is phenomenal, and NHL 10 is the most fun game I've ever played. Modern Warfare 2 has such a great storyline it's fun to play more than once, but even if you tire jumping in and playing a quick game of capture the flag is always fun, too. The next game slated for purchase is MLB 10: The Show. I'd probably just keep enjoying fan updated rosters on MLB 09, but made the decision to sell it before baseball season ended a - to get the biggest return, and b - because I knew I'd want Gordon Beckham's face in the game for real. There are GREAT games to rent for a week and beat, or to purchase with the sole intent of eventually trading them in... these games also happen to retain their value if sold on eBay vs. trading them for pennies on the dollar at GameStop. Those games include Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, CoD 4: Modern Warfare, etc etc. In the history of gaming, there has never been a game to completely hold someone's interest forever, it just won't happen. If you pick and choose, however, you can do fine. When you say beat the games in a week, approximately how many hours of gameplay would that come out to? I haven't been stuck to a single game everyday of the week in a loong time, but that's also because I don't have to time to do that.
  10. So I've got a PS3 and barely play games on it. It seems like I buy a game, play it for a couple weeks and then abandon it. Buy another one, same thing. It's like I've lost interest in playing games yet still like them... it's weird and hard to explain. This ever happen to anyone?
  11. I also had those "this is our year" feeling come on to me during those moments in the 05 playoffs. Coming out swinging the big sticks vs the defending champs, El Duque, etc, but I always thought its not over until its over.
  12. Wow, sorry to hear about your bad experience. Thanks for the heads up.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 06:46 PM) Did you guys see it in 3D? Yeah, the theater I went to had 3D glasses. I don't think all theaters do though.
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 05:50 PM) I can't believe how good the reviews have been for Avatar. The previews looked like it was just a big long video game. I might have to go see it. Which is both good and bad, IMO. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Besides, watching it at the movies is a must for this one.
  15. 2000 was awesome as I was just a casual fan at that time. I don't know which hurt more 03 or 06. I would lean toward 06 because had there not been 2 other teams in the central with 90 wins we would've made it and we were trying to repeat. It really hurt not making it after winning the year before with such a awesome team. 03 hurt because that team was loaded and could have gone very far and, as a fan, hoped for some type of playoff success to try to build off of.
  16. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 11:03 AM) I was pretty impressed by Avatar in 3D. It plays better in the theatre than in trailers on tv and the computer. Visuals were great. Story was a little bit hamfisted, but still a great movie experience. 9/10 Avatar was awesome and I don't watch animation type movies which is why it took me a while to get into it, but when the movie ended I still wanted to watch more!! haha. James Cameron did a wonderful job.
  17. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 09:41 PM) I've only heard of 3 people not ever liking "Children of Men" including myself. (Yes, the other 2 are iamshack & KyYle) Everyone I know raves about this film. Add me too. I just didn't like it.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) Agreed. I have a bad one right now and I hate it. It hurts to eat. Why do some people get them while others don't, I'll never know, but I've gotten em ever since I was a kid. I used to get them ALL the time. I started doing research and found out that sodium lauryl sulfate in toothpaste causes them so I switched to Sensodyne toothpaste because it seems like every other toothpaste has that ingredient. I also noticed that walking on a cold floor right after taking your socks off will cause them. Lastly, if you brush you're teeth quickly and hit your gums hard, expect to get one. At that point you want to stay away from foods with a lot of acid that will upset it. After following these rules I almost completely stopped getting them. Switching toothpaste is what really helped prevent them for me.
  19. Even giving him the benefit of the doubt I have to believe that he exaggerates his stories and fabricates some of the stuff that happens just to make it funnier because what's funny in person is never as funny in writing or on TV. I also think that there's only so many "rolling on the floor laughing your ass off" type stories anyone has so I'd have to think he completely makes up some of that s***. Actually, doesn't he say somewhere in a disclaimer or something that those stories are "inspired by true events" and that every detail he writes may not have actually happened?
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 02:48 PM) Paniagua really packed a lot into that third of an inning, didn't he? I believe numerous Twins players admitted that in that game, the inning he pitched, really swung the momentum their way that season and they ended up winning the division. Anyway... not in any order. Jose Paniagua Rick White Todd Ritchie Brent Lillibridge Darin Erstad Andy Gonzalez Joe Borchard Mike MacDougal Timo Perez DeAngelo Jimenez
  21. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 11:39 PM) i count 12 (if ya count andruw) and 14 have been on the sox at one point in time (Mike Cameron and Sosa out of this decade) Andruw Jones 20 Mark Buehrle 26 Jim Thome 27 Javy Vazquez 29 Maggs 59 Peavy 62 Durham 71 Colon 78 Garcia 85 Jose Valentin 88 Frank Thomas 97 Carlos Lee 98 a sandlot game where theres no catcher youd have 1. Jones CF 2. Durham 2B 3. Thomas 1B 4. Thome 3B (correct me if im wrong he came up as a one right?) 5. Maggs RF 6. Lee LF 7. Valentin SS Buehrle Peavy Vaz Colon Garcia thats sexy I wouldnt count Jones and Peavy as sox or Colon. Vazquez has no business being that high on the list. I don't care what strikeout numbers he put up.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 11, 2009 -> 02:10 PM) If he pitches well enough that we'd want him back, we can offer him arbitration and hopefully steal some picks. Ahh I see. I didn't think about arbitration.
  23. If the sox paid JJ 3 million they must think he's healthy enough to do a good job replacing Dotel. Too bad there isn't an option included in the deal though for 2011.
  24. Obviously health is one of the big questions with Putz, but I'm all for signing this guy. He doesn't have to be as dominant as he was in Seattle for those couple years, but I think if he is healthy, he will be solid for us. I also agree though that he shouldn't be signed to replace the void left by a Jenks trade.
  25. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 10:20 AM) http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/base...lans/index.html I don't think he's done a bad job. It's been time for someone new for a while though. I know people will criticize him because of the steroids, but overall I think he's been fine with the restructuring of the divisions and playoffs. I certainly don't like the "meaning" of the ASG.
