  1. QUOTE (scenario @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 02:17 PM) From Bruce Levine's story on the ESPN Chicago website... "According to White Sox sources, Jones is not being considered as a starting outfielder at this point." That's good... I would feel better if it would've said "according to Ozzie Guillen" though.
  2. QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 01:16 PM) Floyd is a MUCH better buisness man then Pac. Pac has the traditional promoters and handlers all with a million hands in his purses. Floyd has always dealt for himself and because of that does not get swindled out of what HE is bringing in. Bob Arum and the like will be the holding point if there is one. The traditioanl leeches that use up the fighters. Floyd will fight Pac and they will break the bank! I still like Floyd in the matchup, he is faster and naturally bigger. A pure defensive master, but Pac-man should "check his chin", which is still somewhat of a question, due to the fact that nobody has been able to land on him. Can't wait to see it. I'm taking Pacman in that match. He's torn the last few fighters apart and stood toe to toe with Cotto who could've KO'd him. Floyd may be bigger, but Pacman has shown he's got power. I also think Pacman is faster. Just look at the flurry of punches he throws from all the different angles. No one knows where his punches are coming from. It's a set up for a great match. Both very fast and accurate counter punchers.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 22, 2009 -> 02:13 AM) This board has been missing a boxing thread, so here is the start.... Are we finally going to get a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight??? I think its gonna happen It will happen, there's no doubt about it. It's more of a question of when. There's gonna be a lot of bickering from Mayweather about his salary so I don't see it happening earlier than August.
  4. Looking at some of those names on other teams is like a blast from the past. Dewon Day, Dan Haigwood, Joe Borchard I didnt even know he was still around, Fabio Castro, Alex Cintron...
  5. The thing about calling in to the station is those guys make anyone who they disagree with look foolish because they can cut you off whenever they want and continue to talk trash afterwards without being able to defend yourself. That's with any radio host though.
  6. QUOTE (SnB @ Nov 10, 2009 -> 10:56 AM) I've been looking for an external hard drive for my mac and I see that there are a few that are "specifically" for a mac. Do I need one of those or is that a scam? Also, are there any deals out there that anyone knows about? I need to buy two of them. You don't have to buy one made for the mac, but I would get one because those usually have the firewire connections. USB 2.0 is just too slow these days.
  7. If they really believe Jordan is ready that's fine, but if not they shouldn't push it. I'd rather him put his work in minors than K in half of his plate appearances and get benched.
  8. Is there any reason the GM meetings are shorter this year?
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 25, 2009 -> 01:12 PM) This is garbage. ABC originally said the final season would run week after week, uninterupted...NOW.... According to LOST Executive Producer Carlton Cuse, ABC will air the first few episodes of Season 6 in January and then return to the schedule after the Winter Olympics in early March. Seriously? A month off for the WInter Olympics which suck? Wow, this sucks. What assholes... I hate that crap.
  10. When saying the sox need a vocal leader I don't see that person getting in peoples faces. I see it more of that person lifting the spirits of the team after a bad loss or a rough stretch. Keeping the clubhouse loose and having fun. You can look at video of Everett and I don't want to get the love fest started, but Rowand as well. He played hard and rooted for everyone to play hard. It was well documented when he was traded for Thome that we were losing a leader, but KW quickly came out and said were getting another leader and great attitude in Thome. Which is true, but they're different. I just think the "leaders" we had in 08 just didn't fit in, plain and simple. People thought, especially Ozzie, that OC wasn't setting a good example by complaining to the scorer about those errors then trying to lead later when we were heading into the postseason. Ozzie also said that by that time it was too late for OC to try become a vocal leader. That he was the leader of the white sox. So obviously they bumped heads.
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 12:01 PM) Snoop Dog, Method Man, and Redman at the Congress Wednesday night. Password for 2-for-1 tickets: snoopcongress Thanks for promo code. I might be making my second trip to the congress in as many weeks. I didn't know meth and red were gonna be there.
  12. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 03:14 PM) A friend kept me updated, after hearing what he performed...I'm so pissed I didn't go. He performed every song off both his albums except Gotta Eat and Go Baby IIRC. He didn't every verse on each song of course.
  13. Went to the lupe fiasco show last night at the congress. Good show, not as good as last years halloween show, but still a good show. The crowd was a little disappointing though. He did a good chunk of songs from his mixtapes. He closed out the show with superstar and his new single from lasers, shining down. Matthew Santos did a great job.
  14. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 02:50 PM) Kings of Leon older stuff is teh f***ing awesomeness. So I loved their latest album so much I got their first and third. Both good albums. I can't stop listening to Fans and Ragoo. I listen to those two songs non-stop everyday and I haven't got tired of them. I'm gonna wait a bit to get their second album.
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 08:46 PM) Congratulations, Twins...and you're welcome. ^^^ It sucks we helped them, but I won't cheer against my team.
  16. Ugh!! I don't know how pitchers can let guys like Tolbert and Punto beat them.
  17. That must have been hard for JD and Ozzie as its been well documented they have a pretty close relationship. It doesn't sink in to me when someone leaves until I see them in that new uniform, but this got me thinking of the great moments that JD provided. He helped ease the wound from Maggs leaving and drove in the run that ended our 88 years without a championship. Even though he had just about a bad a second half as any player can have, we still have to appreciate him for what he did. Everyone knew JD was probably gone when we acquired Rios, but that's the way it is. We've needed a CF for a long time. Thanks for the memories JD!!!
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 4, 2009 -> 10:17 PM) Just got back from the David Cross show at the Congress. Hilarious. I am jealous of you.
  19. Peavy is dealing. I can't wait for a full season with him. Btw, where has this offense been this season?
  20. I was at the game yesterday. I was in the upper deck and up there it was definitely not 50% Tigers fans. I also didn't hear many lets go tigers chants either, that was the upper deck though. After Pena got lit a lot of people started leaving so the tigers fans were definitely louder because of it, but before the big inning by the tigers, sox fans were definitely out in full support.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2009 -> 06:30 PM) If this team implodes next year, there could be serious pressure for a move. I don't know... Kenny isn't the type of person to make a move to satisfy the fans... just look at Walker.
  22. I'm glad they're boasting this game to be the most important of the season for the sox. I don't think its going to go well for Hudson since he hasn't had any work on a consistent basis and it being his first start... can't wait.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 04:22 PM) And yet the Sox kept Brian Anderson... Revisiting the trade, I forget, did the sox hold on to Anderson over Young or did the DBacks only want Young? I do remember KW saying out of all the minor leaguers he's traded Young was probably going to end up biting him in the behind.
  24. What!? No Jeff Marquez??? It looks like Freddy will take the 5th if he continues to pitch like he has with Hudson getting more time in AAA and spot starting. I'm impressed at what Freddy has done quickly adjusting to pitching without his mid-nineteens fastball. We all know he's a gamer.
