QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) JR wants both of them to stay. I really think its a longshot he ever would fire either, but he realizes they have to get along somewhat in order to both be effective. They don't have to be close, but they have to able to work together. If KW decided to walk away, IMO that's the lesser of two evils for JR. He'd try to talk him out of it, but if he couldn't, there would be a new GM and Ozzie would be making out the line up card. I think if it happened that way, Ozzie's ego would get even bigger, and he would probably become even more difficult if he didn't get his way with whoever they chose to succeed KW, although you'd have to think Hahn would be a lock. If they both stay, one thing anyone could do if they want to have some fun with them is to go to a soxfest seminar where they both are appearing. When the Q and A starts go up to the microphone and just profusely thank one of them for the WS title. Watch the other one skwirm. That's the thing though. He shouldn't let KW walk away. KW isn't going to get talked out of walking away. I know Reinsdorf doesn't want to fire Ozzie and have someone who means so much to this organization leave on those terms, but he can't let the manager be the reason the GM walks away. Like you said, Ozzie's ego would get much bigger than it is already and he'd be uncontrollable if he isn't that already.

Ozzie needs to go. He's done a lot for this organization, but his antics have just gone way too far now. If KW leaves because Reinsdorf won't let him fire Ozzie, there's a f***ing problem. Reinsdorf needs to realize if KW goes because of this then Ozzie is not going to get any better no matter who the GM is. This whole soap opera is f***ing ridiculous.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 11:24 PM) Chipper is basically the 2005 version of Jeff Bagwell. The Braves are winning with really good starting pitching and a rejuvenated offense (led by Glaus). Wagner is one of the best closers I've ever seen when healthy. I'll never forget the year, I think it was 2003, when the Astros had Wagner, Lidge and Dotel. Filthiest bullpen trio I can remember. I believe that was the year they had about 6 pitchers combined to no-hit the Yanks. IIRC, Oswalt went down with an injury in like the 4th.

The first thing I do when I get online is check soxtalk. Been that way... for about 7 years now. Too bad I wasted time on the whitesox.com forums initially.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 31, 2010 -> 12:30 AM) Anyone up for an awesome Jayson Nix-James Shields feud? You might just get it. "Shields was miffed when he saw Nix flip his bat in the sixth inning, and he threw the next pitch high and tight to Alexei Ramirez. "This guy is doing a bat-flip, kind of pimping the home run a little bit," said Shields, the cousin of former Sox outfielder Aaron Rowand. "That's just sometimes the way it happens. I guess when you hit a game-winning grand slam, I guess you can do that." http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...omparisons.html Blowing it a little out of proportion. The bat flip could've been much worse. I think Shields is just a little pissed he got rocked.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 31, 2010 -> 12:32 AM) Garland is pitching out of his mind. However, him, Ely, and Contreras are showing how weak the NL is. None of them would be this good in the AL. They'd still be good, just not as much. I'm happy for all of them. Gar was under appreciated during his time here. It's also good to see Contreras' hard work has paid off once again.

QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ May 31, 2010 -> 08:02 AM) something to watch for, Orlando Hudson collided with Denard Span on the last play of the game last night X-rays were taken but results arent know yet the O Dawg has been a nice compliment to the Twins lineup, and if he is gone for any lengthy amount of time will really hurt It would hurt if he'd be out for a while, but it won't put your playoff chances at risk. Actually, it could be worse if Span was the one that got hurt.

Wow, shocking... RIP

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 22, 2010 -> 03:15 PM) Watched the video. Looks like Mauer said something to Gomez after he tagged home plate, Gomez gave some dumb-ass reaction with his hands. Yeah, like "big deal, oo I'm scared" type gesture.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 22, 2010 -> 11:05 AM) The worst time you can go to the Taste is later. If you can get there early, around lunch time, the crowds are pretty tame. It gets so insanely crowded during the nights it is impossible to really do too much. I agree. I probably won't go at night again. The last couple times I did, not only was it wayy too packed, but people started going over the top drinking and just plain loud and obnoxious.

QUOTE (flavum @ May 21, 2010 -> 09:26 PM) Punk Carlos Gomez hit a 3-run homer for the Brewers when the score was 15-0 Twins. He dropped the bat like the punk that he is, and it made contact with Mauer behind the plate. Expect something to happen tomorrow-it should. The game is on MLB network. Look at it this way, the Twins let him do that while he was with them, but now they don't like it when it's against them. I don't approve of those antics, but I'm glad it happened to them as they always have players that do that to other teams and they find it okay.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 21, 2010 -> 11:21 AM) CJ's been awful at AAA. I probably should've looked that up before I posted.

QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ May 21, 2010 -> 10:55 AM) The sad part is that there is no one in the minors to bring up to replace anyone on this team. No, not really, unless you want to throw Retherford in there.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) What did Don Cooper have to do with Bobby Jenks? He may have taught him how to throw the cutter, which Jenks has used less than 1% of the time throughout his career, but Jenks was claimed off waivers from the Angels and was converted to a reliever by White Sox brass, and that has been where he's found his success. You really can't credit Cooper with Jenks' success. IIRC Dave Wilder was the one who advised KW to sign Jenks and to bring him up when Hermanson began having injury problems. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 3, 2010 -> 08:35 PM) God willing be won't be saying this about Buehrle by the end of the year. I don't think so. I'm confident he can pull out of it. He's gone through bad stretches in his career before where people have said he's done. -

Linebrink is one of the few contracts that Kenny's given out that came back to bite him in the ass. -
QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 08:18 AM) Yeah I have worked full time (M-F) my whole college career so I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with you there Yeah, definitely a lot of props on that one. I work part time and find it really hard to do both so I can't imagine full time.

Does anyone have any trouble viewing videos on mlb.com or whitesox.com on Firefox? For the most part, Firefox never plays them for me.

I hate the last few weeks of the semester. Two 15 page papers, 1 project, and a s*** LOAD of homework.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 11:13 AM) And a bunch of guys in the lineup are hitting well below where anyone would expect them to hit for a full season. The offense may not be good enough, but there is zero chance it stays this bad. .220 AVG and .196 w.RISP isn't going to last. I agree with that. However, we've been through this already in 07. There were many more problems on that team than the offense, but everyone was saying the same thing. I just hope we actually turn it around rather than still saying it in early June...

If he doesn't let you make it up, you can pull it off if you have an A right now and if you can keep it up. You have to be sure you can get a good grade on the final though, an A or high B.

Wow, fantastic pitching and good offensive showing! Awesome job by Mark!!! PKs homer was all he needed.
