  1. The sox have actually had better success drafting later in the draft. Buerhle(41th), Crede (4th round), the sox only 1st round pick on the roster is Frank.
  2. We aren't rebuilding because we aren't bringing in young players from the minors. We actualy aren't doing anything, not bringing in new players or old ones. We just are standing still watching the Cubs, Yankees and Red Sox make moves.
  3. Yestaurday Munoz gave up 3 runs in an inning, just an updat
  4. They have some young talent and with Beltran satying and healthy Sweeney, they could be good. If they get any pitching they will be improved.
  5. Seriously, are we going to sign anybody this off-season, I think not, we went after Millwood, he will accept arbitration from the Phils. Bartolo goes to Disneyworld, Guardado goes to the northwest and oh wiat we did re-sign Sandy Alomar Jr. Who are we going to sign, honestly?
  6. Maybe not with one game, but over a full season and signing of 3-years, why go for a guy whose stats got worse last year. Colon will be injured soon with his short-armed pitching motion. Anyways, look at the stats, who one more and had a lower ERA?
  7. 52 million with all the mid-season Acquisitions, not bad.
  8. Actually, signing Ponson would be better. Although he is a little chunky, he isn't as chunky as fat ass Colon. Also, his numbers were better this year than Colon. And to top it off, he is younger at 27 years old. Here's links to the two stats: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5984 -Sidney Ponson http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5763 -Bartolo Colon :fyou :finger
  9. The Sox must trade Koch, in order to sign Guardado, I am not sure Guardado would come knowing Koch is on the roster. That's one of the reasons I don't think Koch did well, he wasn't set in stone the closer. He had Gordon right behind him. Hopefully, Ozzie will give define roles to the guys in the pen.
  10. We do get two draft picks and I wil be completely fine with letting Bartolo go if we get a top starting pitcher. Last year going into the winter meetings we had a rotation of this: Buerhle Garland Biddle Rauch God knows who else We will be fine, Kenny won't let us down and acquire a top of the line pitcher or two solid middle of the rotation starters one way or another. Just give it some time, wait till after the winter meetings to judge our off-season.
  11. Uribe is the same type of player Ozzie Guillen was, a kid who can hit for average slapping the power, hit it in the gaps for doubles and triples and provide you with awesome defense. This move makes complete sense, Ozzie will have a great influence in his progress, remember he is only 24 years old.
  12. I am sick and tired of having a marginal payroll for the WhiteSox. Okay, $60 million is an average payroll, but when your biggest rivals, the Cubs, have a $90 million payroll, things must be changed. Chicago is a huge market, the Sox should have a high payroll to the likes of $75 million would be fine and yet extremely competitive. Big sports cities should have big payrolls. why won't management see the need for a higer payroll????
  13. yeah, and Gagne took a similar path as a struggling right-handed starter with the potential to dominate with his raw stuff. The he moved to the closer's role and the rest is history. Alhtough he doesn't have the control of a Gagne, but his raw talent is close to that of Gagne's.
  14. Marte blew (no pun intended) when it came to saves, he went 11/18 in saves compared to Guardado's 41 saves and I think 5 blown saves. He is more durable than Marte and has been a closer and done the job consistency. Also, Sullivan won't becoming back to the Sox since he wasn't offered arbitration unless he waits until May 1st, ain't gonna happen. With Guardado and Marte, the two best lefty relievers in the AL, then add Wunsch,w ho gets the job done, we are lefty set.
  15. The part about waiting for the Winter Meetings, is they don't offer contracts to marque-players early enough to show that player serious interest. I just wish we could go after a title one year without payroll a concern, ala the Marlins 1997. I would gladly trade a world series title for two subpar years following. What do you guys think?
  16. Hopefully, we'll get Eddie, trade Koch to the Mets for Weathers and then we'll have a solid pen. Then, go after Millwood or explore trade options for Perez and Garcia. Buerhle Loiaza Perez/Garcia/Millwood Garland Schoenweis or Minor Leaguer Guardado Marte Weathers Wunsch Wright Above average staff and okat bullpen, but the 3-headed monster could be dominant. Although, we will be relying on Esteban to have another superb season. Relistcally, I see Loiaza posting 3.50 and 18 wins-still pretty good numbers
  17. In the pen Arnaldo Munoz, a lefty and Felix Diaz, a righty might be our new guns to replace Sullivan and Gordon. TM PITCHER G W L SV ERA IP H BB K CWS Diaz,F. 4 1 0 0 1.21 22.1 14 3 14 CWS Munoz,A. 5 2 0 2 0.00 8.1 4 5 11 In the Dominican League, Courtesy of Baseball America

Diaz is a righty and Munoz is a lefty, they might be in the pen in 2004. Courtesy of Baseball America's prospect report.
  19. So, it seems that we are getting lots of draft picks this year. Two first rounders so far and a sandwich first rounder. And if Bartolo signs somewhere else, we'll get a total of three first rounders and two sanwich picks. Looks like we are building for the future, again
  20. Hopefully, they are setting themselves up to try and sign Every day Eddie. That would be the only way I would accept denying Sully arbitration.
  21. Hopefully. the one at the bottom about the Sox and Guardado is true. That would be a major blow to the twins, not only losing Guardado, but to the most hated team of the Minnesota Twins.
  22. ProSportsdaily.com has all the sports newspaper headline regardiing baseball around the country. These headline are where ESPN gets a lot of its information for its Insider, which you have to pay for and prosports is free and gives pretty good rumors from the source.
  23. I get my info from Prosportsdaily.com and ESPN.com
  24. Sully will probably accept the Sox's offer or decline so they Sox can work out a long-term deal to be with the Sox. Either way, I thin he'll he'll be wearing a Sox uniform come April probably to the tune of $2-2.5 million a season. I doubt he will be leaving.
  25. Even so, add $1 million and there it is. I think the staff would be unbelievable, the pen average and the hitting okay. I still think it would be a great team.
