Floyd Landis tests positive for testosterone
I can't not accept the results of the tests. I think he's just getting more pathetic with each new reason/excuse. He better be not pulling the Barry Bonds defense tactic. Because IMO, he'd be better off just accepting this and never showing his face again.

Floyd Landis tests positive for testosterone
This is what I'm talking about, a new excuse every day: ""Now there's also the possibility -- and it's an argument that has been used by other people -- at this point, I don't know if it's somehow or someway I ingested something that caused the tests to be that way.""

NFL owners elect Goodell as new commissioner
Have people seen the new ref unis?

Maurice Clarett
I still don't understand why this guy is still news anymore. What he did on the field his freshman year is completely irrevelant now.
-
Jermaine Dye
I've always liked Dye more than Thome this year. He's been the strongest player in this lineup since the '05 ASB (including playoffs). And Dye's not bad at all in the field either.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:42 AM) The Sox scored 2 runs off him in a previous game this season but he did not blow a save, so technically this is the first time the Sox have "gotten to him". http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...p&team=away

That kind of stuff makes me cringe more than anything.

nugget from 2005 world series
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) The GS was my favorite, but I think Pods' walkoff would've taken the cake if I had a stable state of mind at the time. The extreme change from joy to anger (GS to blown save) really took me out of it. I watched and couldn't believe it, but I just had no idea how to respond anymore. To this day, the only reason I know how I reacted is because my roommates had to explain it to me. For some reason I wasn't even worried. I was in such shock and awe still from the PK GS, and I knew there was no way we'd lose that game. Pods' HR was very sweet, but I expected something ridiculous to happen at that point. So the surprise factor wasn't there as much.

2006 White Sox Photos
Yep. I definitely use this, and it's greatly appreciated. I don't take your work for granted.

Good thread. The Kong GS was my favorite moment of the playoffs. I went insane.

QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 11:10 PM) Diane Kruger is hot in National Treasure and pretty much any movie she does. I hear they're making a 2nd of those. The first was really good. It was a billion times better than the DaVinci Code, though people said the premise is the same.

Ozzie Manuel
IIRC, Manuel made too many adjustments. So I'm not seeing the comparison.

Vote for Big Jim
I honestly couldn't care less about this one. They're both deserving, but I'm not all-nighting this for 2 months or even 5 seconds. Sorry Jim and Frank.

High gas prices.
QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 01:45 PM) Were you in Bloomington? The cheapest gas in Bloomington is usually off of 45/46 before Martinsville at the BP heading northbound. The absolute cheapest I've seen was in Martinsville off of 67 at the BP before you get into Martinsville's main drag. Nah, I'm in Fort Wayne until the 21st. I know where you're talking about though. I'm usually using the Citgo on N. Walnut, right before the light at 45/46 (because it's the closest to my apartment). Or I use the Speedway on 3rd near the mall (because they usually are a few cents cheaper and I have a Speedway Rewards card). Are you still going to be at IU? You were planning to study abroad also, weren't you?

Floyd Landis tests positive for testosterone
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 12:01 PM) I'm afraid I don't see how this one is him "changing his story." Seems like he's just trying a new defense tactic, his line thus far has been he did not take anything, and this would fit with that. He hasn't gone from saying he didn't take anything to saying his buddy Miguel Tejada gave him a B-12 shot yet, that's what I call changing your story. Well he's got a new excuse or reason for his now testS to be false everyday. It's getting tired.

High gas prices.
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 11:39 AM) Just wait... I remember when I first got my license, it was a little over a $1.00. And people thought that was bad.

I was on E yesterday, and it was $3.09, disgusting.

Floyd Landis tests positive for testosterone
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 11:02 AM) Landis fires back, and makes one interesting point, I don't know if anyone here can answer to it or not... http://www.usatoday.com/sports/cycling/200...is-retort_x.htm It's a fair point, but I hate how it's taken this long for him to say something of such. His story has changed almost daily, and that's made it harder to not accept the tests' results.
