  1. QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) Apparently you are right. the Pods thing is getting downright bizzare... Ozzie knows that Mac would play a better LF than he does in CF
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) We could really use a strikeout here of Norton. just walk Norton here, set up the DP, he's had a good August
  3. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) Well kwolf, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction but sometimes you have to suffer when you go against the grain
  4. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) I had no problem with Thornton starting the inning against 2 LH's, but i do have a problem with Thornton getting behind Navarro, and then laying a meatball in there I agree, Thorton pitching to him was the right decision IMO, it was Thorton throwing balls and not executing
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) yess PK, buy that man dinner!!
  6. QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) Javy walks Lee, runners at the corners. puts DP in order, not the worst walk in the history of walks
  7. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) Yea really....Taking 2 of 3 in the tinker dome is good work by KC...a loss by them may help our cause as they wont come in acting all big and bad. KC did a good job, now hopefully they won't pitch as well this weekend
  8. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) does anyone else always think of Billy Koch every time you see Carl Crawford? 4th of July game, wasn't it?
  9. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) Ive been watching Javy ever since he came into the MLB. Unlike most fans I just dont trash players for no reason. From what I can recall the Sox gave TB an extra out that inning with the pop up and Javy only gave up 1 run. Boo f***ing hoo Tell me how great Chris Young is again. I've watched a lot of Vaz too over the years. Hawk has said it before, for a guy with his stuff it's hard to believe he's at or near .500. The frustrating thing with him is he has games, like the Toronto game this year with his FB working, or the games he pitched against the Sox with the NYY where his change-up was so effective, then for the next 10 games he gets burned on bad sliders and curves.
  10. QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) id rather have vazquez than garcia.... close call, but I'd take Freddy
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 02:18 PM) Is it too much to ask for our 12 million dollar pitcher to actually pick us up one game, and not be "the rally kller?" My feelings on this too. I can accept when a pitcher goes out there, doesn't have it and gets smacked aroudn. But with Vaz it's WAY too much crappy 0-2, 1-2 pitches that are burning him. That's a complete mental block IMO
  12. I think what drives me nuts about the whole Vaz thing is the complete waste of B-Mac this year. Reports said they wouldn't trade B-Mac for Soriano, which would have helped take care of Pods, so instead of using him to try and fix the Vaz situation, Ozzie just lets him rot inthe pen
  13. QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 02:04 PM) well buck walked....its up to someone named jeff keppinger knowing the Sox track record, he will hit .500 with 2 HRs this weekend
  14. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) my god, pods is horrible, bench him oz. Let's find out his favorite song and sing it backwards, I think his wife is a succubus
  15. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) He will screw that up too it's borderline criminal that Pods is playing today, his ABs last night were a complete joke. He looked like he had no idea how to swing a bat
  16. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) I said that because I am shocked oz has not played mack in this series yeah, because Pods 3 strikeouts and pop-up EARNED him that late inning at-bat last night
  17. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) I missed the last two games, Is BA really playing three games in a row anyone have a breakdown of his 2nd half numbers? It's a complete 180 in his approach at the plate. last night when he fell down 0-2 with the runner on 2nd he did an excellent job of getting him over.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 01:50 PM) He's got a couple of nice plays, but i think that's a real stretch, his range isn't that great. He's a real solid 2b with quick hands, but I've noticed pop-ups where he has to track them down in foul territory seem to be an adventure
  19. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) delmon young scares me are you an umprie who made a borderline call on him?? I agree though, his approach at the plate has been really impressive. He's gone with pitches and tried to rip them only when the counts in his favor.
  20. QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) yeah he does...its his best pitch...i hope he uses it like he did against toronto that one time It drives me crazy when he is spotting that fastball at 94 on the corners to get to 0-2 and then he hangs his curve or slider.
  21. 1. Ray Charles- I Got a Woman 2. The Beatles- Come Together 3. Bruce Springsteen- Streets of Fire 4. The Ramones- Rock n' Roll High School 5. The Ramones- Psycho Therapy 6. ELO- Do You Want my Love 7. Oasis- Mucky Fingers 8. Bad Religion Against the Grain 9. Tenacious D- Wonderboy 10. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones- Tin Soldiers
  22. I can't wait for people to completely ignore the sentence you put in bold red. Howard Stern played a clip from the View where Hasselbeck went insane about this, and started weeping and interupting people, and finally Walters had to basically yell at her like she was an 8 year old having a fit. This is not an abortion pill, but people will just ignore that and continue to be up in arms.
  23. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) You don't hear comments from Hawk this year like "Ozzie won't let this team lose focus", etc. well it's lost already, they need to regain
  24. out of all the corpse ball years, that is right up there with the Tori Hunter/Jamie Burke game Man, Red Sox or White Sox have just laid down
  25. just a complete trainwreck tonight. This offense was an absolute joke. And I'll give it a rest after this post, but Hawk needs to get over Rogers tonight and look at his 2nd half numbers, the Sox did everything he could have asked for tonight
