  1. QUOTE(forrestg @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) This is the most exciting thing. I think KW should pull out all the stops. Throw in Willie Harris and Borchard. I think both are on the 40 man roster, and I don't think either would clear waivers...

    Celebrity Crush

    Mine would have to be either Wendy Malick from Dream On and Just Shoot Me or Meghan Mullaly (sp?) the annoying high pitched voiced chick from Will and Grace
  3. Easily for me was when Hawk and Wimpy were still together they showed some hot chicks (i think ealier someone on the board said it was in Oakland) and Hawk said something along the lines of "You know what Wimpy, we get the best beaver shots in all of baseball" there was dead silence for like 2 minutes (I assume they cut their mics and were laughing hysterically) then Wimpy came on out of breath from laughing and just said "That's Ken Harrelson, care of Sportschannel" A good second this year is when DJ said "as long as you don't strap it on"
  4. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) OK, so what happens if a team claims him and then cannot work out a deal? I think, and I may be 100% wrong because the waiver rules read like stereo instructions, that if a team claims him and the Reds don't pull him back the team is 100% on the hook for the whole contract and they get him with no trade involved. If Reds pull him back they can either work out a deal or keep him. Which I think is why a team can't just block him from clearing waivers unless they have a clear understanding with the Reds that a deal would be worked out. The dream scenario for the Reds IMO would be a team like the Angels or Red Sox freak out that he is going to the White Sox and claim him without talking to the Reds. Then I think the Reds can just laugh and get the contract off their books completely.
  5. I got one of the biggest kicks as a Sox fan when in the last half of the game today every time a ball would go towards center field you could actually hear the crowd groan a little, and then they would show the Yankees bench with a dumbfound look on their faces shaking their heads. A-Row was out of his mind during this series, it was truly incredible.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) They absolutely apply to message boards, trust me. People have been sued over stuff like that, and believe me, if Aaron Rowand's attourney wanted this guys IP and personal info, Soxtalk would give it up in a heartbeat. Just because this is a message board doesn't mean you can say things about people without any evidence. A-Row is a public figure in this regard. The person would have to make the statement in a reckless manner knowing it was false. It's extremely hard for a public figure to win tort cases over situations like this.
  7. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) That's what I said. Let's hope the Yankees feel the season is pretty much lost with Steinbrenner ripping Torre, Sox taking 2 of 3 from them and Pavano out for another 6 weeks. That's the only real competition I see for getting Griffey. Please god let this happen. Please, please please. Should be interesting, if he clears I imagine he will be on the Sox I would guess the Red Sox might not claim him because without working a trade out where Reds would take some money that would hurt their chances of signing Damon in the offseason. I think they can tell the Reds they are going to claim him, have the Reds pull him off waivers and work out a better trade with the Red Sox... Seems like this is actually getting interesting
  8. Boy, this has to be driving the people at Baseball Tonight crazy. If Sox wins they'll have to bury it in about the 45th minute and then stress how well the Yankees starting pitching threw. If Yankees win they'll have to do the first 15 minutes on how this series exposed the Sox and showed how good the Yankees are
  9. A-Row getting them again... you can hear the Yankee fans groan!!!
  10. Sheff K'd... FG seems pretty locked in now (so of course since I typed that A-Rod is going yard)
  11. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) I like Greg Walker, but I haven't seen a different approach from the Sox hitters since this slide began. Long swings and pop ups. I hold him partly to blame. I think my main issue with the Sox hitting is their swings on 3-1 and 2-1. It seems that they feel they have to swing on 3-1 and 2-1, and don't look for pitches.
  12. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) FWIW our #1 hitters (almost always Pods) are number 14 in the league in runs scored. Definitely not bad Those guys also had a big Frank in his prime hitting 3rd, and Belle for 2 years
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) took freddy until the 5th to find his groove. IMO this was a huge start for Fred. I really thought he was getting out of a lot of jams because it was KC and the like, but hey, no earned runs yet, good job
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) 450 feet according to the Trib thanks y'all
  15. was there any estimate on PKs homerun distance last night?
  16. pop out to Paulie... allright FG, way to prove me wrong...
  17. This has Bernie Williams K then wild pitch to next hitter written all over it
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) They move the guy over 2nd and 3rd with one out. Lets see if their offense chokes like ours did. Hopefully Cashman traded for Juan during the half inning
