If it's been done before I'm sorry, but if someone can whip up a sig for me with a picture of Crazy and a dinosaur and something like "Carl, I believe in you" I would appreciate it!! Can't look at shingo anymore!!!

At this point all this trade would mean is the Sox would lose games 2-1 or 3-2 instead of 3-1 or 4-2

QUOTE(winodj @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 06:54 AM) Apparently Rush Limbaugh is insinuating that Cindy Sheehan faked her sons death. Not a Limbaugh supporter or regular listener at all, but sometimes WLS is on my radios since I listen to Roe in the afternoon. Rush said that he 100% did not insinuate that she was faking his death, and challenges the people who are spreading this to find the quote. Personally I think this woman is sad. Of course I feel bad for her for losing her son, but it was his choice to join the military, and the rest of the family seems to think she is wrong in doing this.

I love Misty May. Most of my friends think she's not all that hot, but when she's playing volleyball in that bikini, it gets me to stop switching!

interesting that as of 10:30 a.m. today i couldn't find anything about this on the Red Sox fan site sonsofsanhorn.com. I took a quick glance, but couldn't find anything. I assume their mods are being crazy about not letting any rumors about this get posted, I'm sure there's major scrutiny in Boston over this issue. Their mods are probably working 24 hours and erasing anything once it comes up. we're far enough away from the story where I doubt lawyers are trolling this site looking for things

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) his numbers are pretty damn good. He isn't bad defensively either though not good either. His numbers are: AVG .293 | HR 15 | RBI 68 in a pitchers park. s***, right now this offense is so bad, if Timo was on another team, I would want the Sox to trade for Timo

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) Don't think it's Clemens because he gave a hint that really limits this thing to five or six teams. He said that this team would be assured of a playoff birth if the season ended today. yeah, before tonights games Astros were a game up in the WC

Lucky they're not playing Ditka for a series, they would score negative runs!! (sorry, but that joke on SNL never got old to me, still laugh everytime I see it!)

QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) thats damn funny thanks daa and Steff... it's been a long month with female troubles, taking the Bar, not having a job and school for the first time in 14 years and making me bored out of my f'n skull! But the idea of Gammons COMPLETELY losing his s*** on Baseball Tonight makes me laugh, it may be cruel, but it's true... seriously though, he may cry on the air, and if he does I don't think I would ever stop laughing. Ever.

if these names are right, who's starting the Peter Gammons Suicide Pool? (extra points if he does it on live TV)

QUOTE(tpezz27 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) Clemens would have to be a bigger idiot then Palmeiro to test positive. He didn't have anything to prove by coming back this year. He already had all his Cy Young awards, won a world series, had a s***load of money. He could have pitched like s*** this year and noone would have said anything since he is 43 and still got his $18.5 million. But he comes back and tests positive for steroids to tarnish his legacy? I don't buy this at all! Palmeiro atleast sucked the first month of the season and had to be worried he wouldn't get to his 3000 hits.....so he atleast had something to well cheat for....lol If it is the alleged Astros SP, Canseco looks like a f'n genius and should be up for the Pulitzer. (IMO his book is a great read, I believed most of it when it came out, and I think it's being proved out). If it is the Astros SP some are alleging I would be dissapointed, and if it is a CF from Boston who is up for FA, he may cost himself untold millions of dollars. As far as why would the Astros SP do it with all of his accomplishments? Look at Michael Jordan. It's the competitive edge these guys have. They're cut-throat at anything they play, from their pro games to pick-up games with their friends...

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Usually golfing is bad for your baseball swing..but for this team it couldn't come at a better time :banghead also now Hawk can have lunch with JR and get more missives to disperse to the Sox fans (I don't think "Where would we play KGJ?" was totally Hawks) I think the "this losing streak is exactly what this team needed at this point in the season" is going to start. Something that upsets me is the crowds the Sox have been getting, they've been big, well behaved and into the games, and they've been dissapointed... hopefully Cy Small and Cy Chacon (as they will be described by Hawk when Sox are popping up the umpteenth hanging curveball) just place the ball on a tee (anyone know what the Yankees rotation is for the series? I'm sure we will get RJ if he's healthy, and he will mysteriously have his first good start in awhile)

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) I'm going with Bafia. No way, he has to live up to the legend of Papi Hidalgo, he couldn't even carry his jock
-
I think if the Royals really wanted to move him the Astros, Dodgers, and Angels would have made a HUGE push for him. I think Royals will hold on to him, maybe they think they can get more for him in the offseason and explore it then

if it was horribly torn you probably would not be able to put any weight on it, and if it's bad enough you might be able to notice a difference in the shape of the muscle. Give it a lot of rest, that always helps, even get crutches or something, it's amazing how resting a strained muscle for 24 hours can help

Was watching the end of NFL Live at about 3:30 and Chris Mortenson (sp?) was reporting (actually Tre Wingo was the one saying it, but cited Mort) that Benson's deal is done and he'll be signed by tonight
-
QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) Won't see him tonight though, Timo is leading off and playing left I think that's the reason they sold out tonight!!!

It's weird with all this new Griffey talk on ESPN 1000 and WSCR. It seems like the hosts, espically Mulligan on the Score, are urging KW, when it seems to me KW is ready to make this move and it all hinges on the Reds owner.

QUOTE(Nokona @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) It beats Willie and Jerry Owens, Brian Anderson has been called up to take Scotty Pods place on the roster. Congrats and all the best Brian! I think they're doing the right thing with putting Pods on the DL, right now, barring any moves, the 2 most important pieces of the offense to protect for the playoffs are Pods and Crazy. I don't mind bringing Anderson up, I'm just suprised it wasn't Borchard.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) STOP YELLING AT ME! Seriously though, the Sox are trying to get a trade done without having to claim the entire contract. They are trying to make the trade look better in the long run. I think, and it seems Olney and Levine are basically saying this, that it's basically up to the Reds owner right now. It seems KGJ would come here and the Sox and the Reds GM have agreed on the terms of a deal. Maybe Sox taking more money would help.
-
Basically there doesn't seem to be anything new. Levine is just saying the same thing about the Reds owner.
-
QUOTE(Finkelstein @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) Take this for what its worth but according to an email read on Silvy and Carmen, Buster Olney, on his ESPN chat, said that a deal was almost completed to send KGJ to the Sox. Does anyone have access to Buster's chat (insider) to see if this is actually what he said? as in "almost" trade deadline deal that the Reds owner nixed or "almost" as currently being done?

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) Yep, and so would the doctors if one of the players go out there and break an ankle, etc. Maybe it's in our best interest to not finish this game, especially with the amount of work the bullpen would have to give. this will be the best if the Yankees and Red Sox are close near the end of September and they have to make-up this game. ESPN would spend so much time crying that the White Sox would likely be fielding a AAA team due to already clinching the division. There would be a lot of the "White Sox owe it to baseball to field their best lineup" -
QUOTE(tpezz27 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 02:20 PM) Couldn't the trade go like this....White Sox get Griffey + Cash....Reds get future considerations......Then the Reds can get Young and Rogowski if thats who they really wanted without having to worry about them clearing waivers! I think those guys aren't on the 40 man so they don't have to clear... is that right guys??
