  1. I'm just looking forward to if the Sox sweep the Jays the naysayers saying they've still only played one team with an above .500 (since the Jays were 3 games over coming in, hence they would be at .500 with a sweep)
  2. QUOTE(SEALgep @ May 7, 2005 -> 08:56 AM) No one is holding Clemens back, and I'm not talking about a talent level comparison. True, Clemens doesn't have the injury history, but El Duque is healthy. If he gets hurt, he's going to get hurt. We don't have the luxury to have that guy go out and have an 85 pitch count. It's not his game. Holding him back may keep him healthy, but if we're limiting his pitch count and taking him out of his element, well, we'll be playing with fire. I think that this thread makes a good point, but I agree with SEAL. I'm just of the opinion that if he's going to pitch don't try and hold him back. Now McCarthy's ST and start in AAA gives me a little more confidence to say this, but I think with Duque's injury past he is likely to get hurt on his 20th pitch as his 120th...
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) I'd keep throwing the frisbee, if you walk him, you walk him. I know that breaks some sort of rule but f*** rules. It's at home, if he hits it 500 feet we still have the bottom of the inning
  4. Anyone know what the Sox record is for games JC has started this year?
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 5, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) Crede walks. was it the unintentional intentional variety?
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 5, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) why put Jamie Burke in here, come on!!!!!! A.J. could have told Ozzie he has a hard time with Sisco
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) Sisco up in the bullpen. Bring him on. Don't care how tough he is, get Greinke out of here. If the White Sox would have done what the Cubs did with Sisco, Mariotti would have written a week long expose on it
  8. Shingo and A.J. are pictured on the front page of ESPN.com!!
  9. lol, yeah I saw him on TV last night and did a double take... he has an odd look to him
  10. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ May 5, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) I'm just glad for once Sweeney isn't the one beating us. I agree, that guy is murder on the Sox... He might be one of the few big bats to be on the trade market at the deadline, I heard he wants to play for the Dodgers, but I bet KC can get a lot for him if his back is healthy.
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 5, 2005 -> 01:15 PM) Let's just hope this isn't one of those things that lights a fire underneath either of those teams. Those teams need a fire extinguisher for the sox
  12. I've heard that some people in the industry think the "writer's block" may be stemming from the fact that he and his partner aren't working that well together anymore (can't remember his full name, some white dude named Neil I believe). It may stem from the new contract Chapelle got, and his writing partner thinking he didn't get enough credit and money
  13. QUOTE(Cy Garland @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) Thanks, you inspired me to make him one that ozzie and PK sig is perfect, it captures them perfectly!!! Seriously, I was laughing out lout at work when I saw that, HYSTERICAL!
  14. Willie was put on a list other than the DL due to his family emergency
  15. I think Viz stats are a touch misleading, he got lit up in that Cleveland game where he had to pitch a long time since he was the last reliever. I don't think he's the greatest of all time, but I think he's serviceable
  16. I wrote to OTL with a short letter basically saying I thought it was wrong they didn't disclose the history between Mariotti and the White Sox management
  17. This is how out of touch ESPN really is with Chicago. They have Mariotti as their "chicago" spokesman when, IMO, he is totally unqualified to fill this bill. Then they let him question White Sox upper managemetn without ever disclosing that he was a former employee of the White Sox Flagship station, and he blames his firing on the White Sox owner... that is totally unethical IMO.
  18. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 2, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) I said before the season Dusty wouldn't last the season, and I'm sticking to it. If you've ever seen the episode of South Park where Cartman saw the Buttheads and lost his sense of humor because they were so funny, that's what my reaction would be if the Cubs fired Baker during this season. This doesn't mean that I don't doubt your prediction, I mean it would be the biggest 180 from the Cubs fans stroking his shlong to him being fired... with that said I don't think they'll fire him this year, they'll let him use the injury excuse one more time.... even though the Sox haven't used it, and the Cardinals won't use it with Issringhausen (sp?)
  19. A lot of these articles will be written if the Sox keep playing well since nobody picked them to win in the preseason, in fact a lot of people picked them 3rd. These guys job is to write about baseball, and right now the Sox are making them look real bad
  20. yeah, it would be the same answer for me. Despite the great start I hate how Ozzie handles the bull-pen in many games and have posted the same during the start of the season
  21. I'm fine with Ozzie, this is baseball, not a black-tie affair. So he's got a dirty mouth, so what? This is entertainment, and I find Ozzie entertaining.
  22. I think I heard Guzman is hurt again... Anyone know?
  23. Can someone give me an update... I want to see if gamecast is behind (stuck at work)
