QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who do we want to win? I'm rooting for the Twins. Perez is great vs LHP, something we really miss. Joe Nathan aside, I'm rooting for the Twins. The sooner Sheff, I-Roid, and Leyland tear apart that clubhouse, the better.

Twins with a big 8th inning. they take the lead

...and this is why the fake Johan is garbage away from the big A. His HR rate is ugly away from there.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 08:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Erstad has nothing to do with our offense collapsing in the last couple of weeks. He has been our best hitter the past five games. Honestly, that means next to nothing. We got shut down by Cy Durbin, and Erstad did not drive in all 16 runs against the Royals (some people didn't think we should mention the positive offensive because it was the Royals.)

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 08:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> KW deserves some blame also for not getting a new LF/leadoff man. Oh come on. Pods has been much better than expected. If you're going to fault KW for anything offensively related it HAS to be giving Erstad to Ozzie to overplay.

So... when do I actually get to watch the games

QUOTE(CarlosMartinez @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 07:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This crap is getting old. I have nothing against the Bulls, but why do they have to show their game on Comcast and ESPN?? Is it blacked out somewhere and that's why they get to be shown on 2 channels. Instead of Comcast +, Mediacom is showing the finals from an amatuer karoke contest, WTF! Mediacom can go to hell. Just one of the reasons why I'm getting the hell out of Iowa because I want to see the pennant stretch (hopefully.) -
Just like the ALCS

How many balls hit back to Contreras tonight, 3?

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 07:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Four or five years ago, he was a very underrated "almost superstar" player. Now he's just an aging outfielder, like Tim Salmon a couple of years ago. Still, you look at his overall stats over a career and they're pretty darned impressive. Which years? His single season high OPS is .885. Get this, in 2272 career PA's against LHP, he has walked 67 times! Because of this his .291 career BA against LHP comes with a .309 OBP. He really looks like Erstad with higher home run totals to me.
-
Anyone else think Garrett Anderson is overrated? He reminds me of an Erstad with a little more power and more durability.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 07:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Missing hangers and leaving men on base....seen this show before. How was Thome after the ASB vs LHP when his wrist was hurting? It wasn't as good as his road numbers, during the day, against latino pitchers.
-
Just a quick note. Thome (2006) In 222 plate appearances vs LHP: .236/.354/.361 In 375 plate appearances vs RHP: .321/.454/.749 Vladimir (2006) In 171 plate appearnaces vs. LHP: .401/.483/.687 In 486 plate appearances vs. RHP: .307/.347/.509 I wonder if there were any Angels fans looking for a platoon partner for Vlad like some Sox fans wanted for Thome.
-
Where is the Sock today? Shouldn't have been a brownish color by the time the game was over? I'd like to see someone in the Yankees ante up the bet to $10 million and see if he goes through with it.

Not directly related, but Higher Learning is on Starz right now. Too soon?

Surely if a burglar can decode a home security system he or she can handle a gun lock. We're all screw. We'll just have to set proximity detonators at each window and door before we go to ed each night.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 06:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Bal!! Update: Went into the dealership and they pulled bait and switch on me for about an hour. Background on me is that im in high cost sales, so this doesnt intimidate or scare me. So after about 5 guys told me i was crazy, I asked the sales manager for a piece of paper. I wrote down exactly what I wanted, in clear terms. I wrote at the bottom, if my terms are met by tomorrow at 5pm I will purchase the car with these terms. I then signed my name to the piece of paper, put in on his desk, took my keys and left. We'll see what happens. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 09:05 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just about to give another update. After I left the GM of the dealership called me and told me that the numbers I wanted were totally not doable. The funny thing is he also told me that the numbers his own finance manager quoted me were not doable. He then tried to convince me that he wasnt making any profit, my trade in was crap (which it isnt at all) and that the payments were totally off base. One of them is lying, try and figure out who. Car buying is seriously the gayest thing. They could make it so much easier than it is. Nothing against you personally, but good for the dealer. Car makers set retail prices for new cars. If the dealer is higher than that price, then yeah, you should raise a point. I hated it when people used to come to the liquor store and try to make deals as if it was some market in Mexico. Used houses, used cars, yes there should be some negotiations because not every model of a used car is going to be the same like when it first comes out (in theory.) You played hardball with that dealership, and they didn't give in. They'll just get someone else to buy it.

QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 12:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wow. What a bump. "Cracker-Cats?" I am shocked nobody bumped Rector's "The continuning decline of Mark Buehrle" thread after his no-hitter.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 08:57 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you saying what I think you're saying? Poor people and minorities are criminals and chances are if you pull them over, you can get them for something and lock them up. Jenksismyb****, if you're not saying that, I would like to know what exactly you are saying.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 01:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What is troubling to me is the show of force for a "white collar" crime. Guns drawn etc. I wonder what they were expecting? Well considering they have evidence of them talking about KILLING the competitors, I don't blame them for being armed. http://cbs2chicago.com/local/local_story_115063302.html

Watch Uribe swing at the first pitch.

Don't those two runs in the top of the 9th mean more than Konerko's DP?
