  1. If it was capable of happening, who do you think would win in a game between the 1972 Dolphins and the 1985 Bears? Why did Shula say the 1973 team was better than the 1972? Isn't it better to win 18 games instead of 17?
  2. Funny, I thought Riske sucked in pressure-filled situations. Looks pretty similar, and more importantly, effective to me.
  3. ummm, MacD pitched pretty damn well for the 2006 World Series Contending White Sox team He was awful with the rancid 2007 White Sox team.
  4. What pressure was that? God Bless David Riske.
  5. He's asking for too much. Didn't we spend enough on Linebrink?
  6. formal request for Rowand mega thread. I think we've seen articles on about 75% of his emotions.
  7. Morneau is overrated. Konerko gets grilled for his .841 OPS, yet Morneau had a .834 OPS (.343 OBP) and hit 3 homers in the last two months of the season.
  8. Should I just bump the old thread I made a link to a few weeks ago? The reason why Riske didn't have any holds, a garbage stat by the way, was because of Wickman, Rhodes, Howry, and Betancourt pitching above their average game. Even Cabrera and Miller had sub 2 ERA's for the Indians in 2005. ..and how big of a risk is it to pay Riske arbitration when he's coming off a season making $1.8 million. This isn't like Frank making $8 million or Maggs making $14 milliion, it's chump change.
  9. Sure he does. Too bad he's down to option "E" at every position.

    Films Thread

I thought about the ending more and more, and I turned closer to the movie. I'm thinking about seeing it again and paying more attention to the hotel scenes with the mexicans.
  11. Because they don't want their cars bricked. I have this conversation with my union buddies every now and then, and it never ends pretty.
  12. I really like this deal for Tampa. Any chance of us getting Rincon in a Uribe deal?
  13. Check your link. It's not like our organist, Nancy.
  14. I you grabbed 100 random NFL fans from all over the country and asked them to name as many players from the 1985 Bears team and the 1972 Dolphins, who would be considered to be "more remembered?" I won't buy the additional 13 years as an excuse either. McMahon, Payton, Fridge, Ditka, Singletary, Butler. so many personalities on that team. ...and every year a good defensive team is in the NFL, the comparison to the 1985 Bears is made. If the Pats go 19-0 this year, the 1972 Dolphins team will not be mentioned again. The Bears team will continue to get mention because they were more than just a loss total.
  15. Based on the numbers Balta posted, there isn't a chance. It's also unfair to assume ALL of that money goes towards terrorist activities. Those Saudis buy American products. I use the Saudi oil to make my living and help others. It's a tradeoff I can accept. There will always be a market and price for Saudi oil.
  16. So are you going to sell your car and trim your lawn with scissors?
  17. Joe Crede winning that silver slugger was a sham. Joe Crede not winning a gold glove is a sham as well. Crede has a career OBP of .305. That is worse than Darin Erstad last year. It's also a lie that you say he became an offensive force each year because he was in a steady decline from 2002-2004. Have you looked at any of his stats or are you just using a selective memory?
  18. LMFAO Crede at first. Crede's offensive numbers SUCK.
  19. I've requested for trade winds to be open during the offseason just so we don't get 10 different threads from 10 different posters in the Sox clubhouse that go like this:

  21. So Tex, how is your sales career working out these days? I paid for a service that scientifically worked. It's not a scam. I wanted to get drunk. I paid for alcohol. I got drunk. I was hungry. I bought some food. My hunger disappeared. Have you ever been convinced otherwise? The reason why those books are so popular is because they are selling what people want, but unfortunately people aren't getting their full satisfaction. If these seminars work, why in the hell would someone have to go back more than once? Do us both a favor. Take a half hour out your time and watch the video I posted. It argues this topic we are talking about. On one side there is a would be comedian, a licensed real estate agent, a crazy woman in a trailer and on the other side there is a licensed psychologist and physics instructor. want to guess whose side I'm currently on?
  22. Um what? The Bartender got me drunk. Vegas and other casinos offers a chance to improve my wealth with me knowing the consequences of my risks and actions. Lotteries are a scam which is why I avoid them. Wasting money for a services that delivers is not a scam. Wasting money for a service that doesn't work and having someone lie to you about it is a scam.
