White Sox Acquire Nick Swisher from Athletics
santo=dorf replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That prediction hardly means much as the A's play in a completely different type of a division. -
Only a matter of time before this post showed up from Jason.

Harry is a goofball talk show host and is probably trying to create discussion. No different than the people here except he needs the listeners to earn his paycheck. How about this? Crede to the Dodgers? J-Hood talked about how it would make sense for both teams and knowing how KW works, there's probably talk going on right now.

Where at? <--------Not voting tonight. I don't think I'm a Iowa Citizen yet.

White Sox Acquire Nick Swisher from Athletics

Gio Gonzalez = Gary Majewski II Seriously, I don't know if I could handle any more spooning of this kid while spending yet another year in AA. When he was traded for Thome his durability and small frame was questioned. Then when KW had fools' gold in a hungry market (Freddy,) all he got back was a flop in Floyd and the small kid again. Oh wait, this time he's back to being the next Johan Santana/ I wanted to see DLS develop, and I was a big Ryan Sweeney fan but as evident by his handling (only played when Thome went down) and Anderson's by Ozzie Guillen, I can see how he isn't in the plans. I didn't realize Swisher was signed for so long at a reasonable rate, and it's good to see the Sox went from the s***ty slap ball who ground out a lot with Erstad to patient hitters who don't make as much contact in Swisher. He won it but didn't start it -
Please, please, please, shut the hell up about this. If you're not doing this for flame bait, you're a fool because it's been debunked many, many times for you personally. Even your favorite player, Aaron Rowand, was a terrible bunter. The 2005 White Sox won because of pitching. The 2005 White Sox hit 200 homers The 2007 White Sox failed to hit 200 homers and had a "grinderball" mentality. How'd that work out again? Home runs > bunting Getting on base and not making an out >>bunting Strong Starting pitching >> Bunting

I'm watching a youtube video of Ron Paul on "Meet the Press" and I don't see how he's running on the Republican ticket. His motives are appealing.

Just trying to make an argument for the sake of it I guess. Go to any database site for baseball stats, and see if there is a simple option to sort stats from one time period to another. I honestly don't know of too many, but I know plenty that do monthly splits. Monthly splits are certainly not "random." EDIT: September 1st is also a significant date because that is when teams can expand their rosters and players who normally do not get much exposure get more playing time thus making the competition at a completely different level.

Aren't a good percentage of Mexicans catholic? (I know in Joliet it's the case) Catholics aren't supposed to use birth control or participate in planned parenthood. I wouldn't be surprised, as always, it involves religion. -
No, I'm using designated time periods (beginning of the month-end of the month.) I'm looking at his season in sections, not picking a start point and running with it through the end of the year.
-
Picking random dates, or even worse, looking for dates where the data changes significantly is a stupid way to try and evaluate a player. The fact is Jerry Owens had one good month last year, and it was in September. Josh Fogg was really good in September 2001, So was Haeger out of the pen in Septmeber of 2006.
-
Give me a f***ing break. Why did you pick 7/28 as a starting point? Did you just throw a dart? How exactly did he improve starting in late July if he actually experienced a dip in August as evident by his pathetic line of .229/.302/.295/.597? Again, the White Sox's great 2005 was due to the starting pitching. Podsednik did have an affect on this team, but it was in the first half when he had a line of .294/.369/.344

Erstad f***ing sucks and has for quite some time now.

Ahem. This poll would've been better with two options. 1 with what you think of him, and the other about his employment. Decent, and should stay.

Critic, just spend the $17 and get the WSX DVD set. It's really entertaining. I just wish there was a better way to watch all of the WSX Xtra matches. Plus you can see our fellow Soxtalker Longshot 7 sitting in the front row wearing an AJ Pierzynski Sox T-shirt. Longshot, did you get paid for being there? (I don't remember the story.) -
Grinderstad and Pods were crippled pieces of garbage before the 2007 season. KW brought them back/in when we KNEW they were a liability and weren't worth the paper their contracts were printed on. That is his fault.

Really? My friend from HS did not go to college right after high school and decided to play semi-pro hockey in Canada. When he changed his mind he went to Iowa State to play on their hockey team (He's a senior now.) I don't how much of a scholarship he is getting however.

If they want to cut costs, maybe they should consider hiring illegals to build it, again.

Would someone "on the other side" please explain to me what the big deal is about an illegal being here, not committing crimes or using our system is? I much rather have some of them instead of our own home grown criminals. How many "parasites" in this country are american citizens, NUKE? -
The Ebert and Roeper review of the first National Treasure was hilarious. It sounds so bad I want to see it.
