  1. Then the problem is Robbins and others sell their methods as the "solution" to walking across the "impossible" hot coals even though it's really just simple physics. Is that really worth $10k a week? To do silly tricks and have someone blatanly lie to you?
  2. Then who exactly is going? People who don't have problems and like to waste money? What a f***ing scam artist.
  3. The difference is their solutions related directly to the situation. With self help gurus their "solution" to any problem is to run across hot coals or broken glass. There is no scientific evidence that running across hot coals will cure your mental issues. It's just a cheap carny trick.
  4. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Nov 24, 2007 -> 08:17 PM) Im assuming you know someone who went there cuz they actually do thatNo, I watched a documentary on it.Penn and Teller -Bulls***! - Self-Helpless Add to My Profile | More Videos
  5. So it's ok to have people who are depressed, or having identity crisis run across hot coals and tell them their problems are solved? Not only that, but to charge money for it? Are you seriously comparing a mental disease to playing a football game?
  6. ...and what use would the Yankees have for Crede? They signed A-Rod.
  7. Actually it was a monster second half during garbage time. 1st half of 1998: .278/.354/.517 18 HR, 66 RBIs 2nd half of 1998: .387/.451/.816 31 HR, 86 RBIs
  8. I'd say selling false hope is much worse than selling tapes of girls who signed waivers to lift their shirts. I don't care what Joe did, but if his allegations are true, nobody should be defending these pigs. Corrupt cops and guards are criminals too.
  9. Figuring that Ozzie will stick Pablo in left when a left hander is on the mound, why don't we focus on a left handed partner? Two possible cheap options include Shawn Green and Geoff Jenkins. Jenkins is extremely streaky and I'm now sure how capable Green can handle left, but he can back up at first as well. Three year splits against RHP: Green: .304/.367/.474 Jenkins: .292/.365/.504

I agree completely as I didn't buy into the Fargo hype either. The ending kinda reminds me of the same thing and the audience reaction (it was packed) felt kind of the same way. It's the first movie that creeped me out in a long time however. American Gangster is still at the top of my list for 2007.
  11. I'd rather be cheap and have common sense than be stupid with money.
  12. Click that link and change it to 2006. for some reason it's listing mike Piazza for SD and Vidro for Washington. Yahoo is doing the same thing with Vidro. Foxsports only recognizes 4 DH's (Thomas, Hafner, Ortiz, and Thome) So either Thomas was the worst DH against RHP in 2006 or he was in the middle of the pack ahead of only NL players (Vidro, Piazza,) injury prone (sweeney,) and Carl Everett.
  13. A .790 OPS from a DH 75% of the time is a freaking joke. In 2007 Jim Thome had a 1.123 OPS against RHP only behind Ortiz and Chipper Jones (1.171.) His OBP was .455 In 2006 Jim Thome had a 1.203 OPS against RHP which lead ALL of the MLB. His OBP was .454. Thomas' .796 OPS ranked 115th overall tied with Gary Matthews Jr, and Jarrod Saltalmacchia (only 210 PA's however.) For DH's he was 6th out 11, and his OBP was 8th. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/battin...nd=a&pos=dh
  14. Looks like KW finally threw the towel in on the "market correction."
  15. I took me 2 and a half hours to go 85 miles. After being stuck going 25 MPH and earlier swerving into a barricade on the right hand side at 45 MPH (amazingly, no damage) I pulled over and got hotel for the night. f***ing snow.
  16. The more I think about Jones, the better I like the situation. With his dip, I just don't see him getting the same money or years as Rowand. The guy is still great defensively and over the last three years he's been a better hit on road than at Turner Field.

    Pet peeves....

Today at work was Jean's day. I don't know who the hell Jean is, or why she deserved the day, but everyone seemed to dressed pretty casually. Oh, I also HATE when people don't use an apostrophe correctly
  18. So are the Sox done for this offseason? /jumps out the window. Seriously, since KW is hell bent on making more moves, this indicates he's going to have to dump some more useless junk (hopefully Uribe, Gonzalez and Hall.)
