  1. How did they come up with that $75k number? Is that based on 2008 or 2007 earnings? I heard the checks might not come until June 2009
  2. I don't want this to drag this any longer, but he was not the first to mention religion in this thread. Look at the post he responded to. How is that baseball related? Of course you don't response to that post because it's in line with your opinion. You say you don't want people spread anti-religious "propoganda" in a baseball forum in one post, but then in the VERY SAME POST you tell people you have your own Book that everyone should read. Quite hypocritical. Just about everyone here likes Josh. We wish for him to have success in the field and help our White Sox. If he's really conflicted on whether he should play baseball or not, perhaps he should evaluate some of his other choices in life, which is why we are having this discussion. There may be some quotes taken out of context but if he did in fact say something along the lines of "I thought about quitting baseball because of what goes on" and is implying it is based on reglious beliefs, then I can see why people are critical of religion or Chrisitianity. Faith in anything can just be pure brainwashing which ultimately leads to a lot of bad decisions.
  3. Isn't it pretty much just an advance on your tax refund?
  4. You make a public cry to have people PM you for a book to read. Either you're spamming or spewing your own propoganda. Which is it? If you don't care, why did you reply?
  5. That's usually when I tell the mormons/Christ of Latterday saints/whomever that I've already seen the light and am not interested in waking up early on Sundays again and I proceed with shutting the door.
  6. Did Jeebus ever charge the mound while the pitcher was kicking around the rosenbag?

Wow, and this is AFTER you slammed "There Will Be Blood." Just what are your movies interests?
  8. How long until GWB declares to invade the Atlantic Ocean?
  9. So now a seller has no way of determining if the buyer is a dead beat. If I have a 1000 rating, they can trust me. If they have 5 or lower or a history of negative feedback, why would the seller want to deal with them?
  10. Vizcaino was the sacrificial lamb during the 3rd game of the season when Ozzie completely overmanaged the bullpen and then Shingo gave up 3 homers in a row with only Luis left in there. In his second full inning of work, he gave up 6 runs. That destroyed his ERA. Carlos Lee's salary was not "enormous," it was $8 million. Who would've led off in 2005 if we didn't have Pods? How about Rowand? He had an exceptional 2004 season at the leadoff spot. I liked Carlos Lee, but he was a really boneheaded player that would drive you up a wall. In 2002 he walked more than he struck out and had an ISoD of .095, but then in 2003 he struck out a lot and didn't walk that much and had an ISoD of .04. I thought he was underrated with the Sox, but when he was with the Brewers everyone went gaga over him. He completely fell off the map in the second half of 2005 as well.
  11. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 09:09 AM) From what I read on Foxsports, Lesnar screwed himself over when he had Mir down because he landed a punch to the back of Mir's head, which stopped the fight and allowed Mir to gather himself.Still though, I expected Lesnar to do better UFC 81 Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir Uploaded by stillbugmenot
  12. Illini showed why they are ranked #1 this weekend. Down 2-0 going into the third period, they tied it up and won in overtime with less than 2 minutes to go. They did it in Ames Friday night and at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines Saturday afternoon. Thought you and maybe Heads would be interested.
  13. Actually he's headed to the AL Rays signed LHP Brian Anderson to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. Anderson has undergone two Tommy John surgeries and missed most of the last three years. While it's possible he'll pull off a successful comeback, he's going to need some innings in the minors before he'll be an option as a fifth starter or middle reliever. "Wokka, wokka, wokka"
  14. I'm curious as to how many of his infield hits came on weak-ass full swings.
  15. Pods, the all-star (because we all gathered with the anti-yankee fans to vote him in) in the first half when the Sox offense seemed to have a spark: .369 OBP, 44 SB, 9 CS Pods when the second half Sox offense didn't appear to have "the spark"" .326 OBP, 15 SB, 14 CS Think that difference in runs scored is related to a 43 point drop in OBP? Nah, didn't think so either. Just a coincidence.
  16. not even close. That was our overall playoff record.
  17. Pitching is more important, and I recall the 2005 team hitting 200 home runs and homering in all but 2 playoff games.
  18. Perhaps we shouldn't have traded our #3 starter for a slick fielding, light hitting shortstop when we already had a cheaper one on the roster.
  19. Crede, Danks, Floyd, Masset, Anderson for A-Rod and a little cash. What's wrong with that trade?

I watched The Lookout twice over the past two days. Great movie. You really feel for the kid I also rented Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever. My God was that awful.
  21. What about men? Wilford Brimley isn't a size A
  22. I control the original Frank Thomas account, and checked into it for the first time in awhile the other day. Someone who actually went to school with Frank sent his personal info saying he wanted to get in touch. Then he sent another one realizing he goofed and should've known it was a fan site.
