  1. I sure hope Pods has the most because he's on my fantasy team. All the other players combined didn't have more than 70 last year, so I hope he puts up big numbers again.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) The traditional way for young female Americans to afford university education (those not from wealthy families). Or Cleveland Indians pitchers.
  3. QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Mar 5, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) can someone help me steal! I cant get a stolen base even with Podsednik. How do you steal?!?!? Are you getting a big lead before you steal? Use the right analog stick to get a few extra steps before you take off.
  4. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) http://www.indystar.com/articles/6/226924-1166-094.html Greg Oden, who is probably expected to be the first pick in the '06 NBA draft, had 18 blocks in a sectional game tonight.... My friend told me about that. 18 blocks is amazing. He only had 12 points though? That isn't overly impressive. It would be cool if Valpo could make it to state against Lawerence North. Watch out for my buddies
  5. I'm now 29-15 in my first season of owners mode. I traded away Pauly and Jason Schmidt because they had big salaries and I was going to lose them to FA anyways. In return, I got a lot of prospects, including Edwin Jackson (#3), Scott Kazmir (#4), and Chin-Hui Tsao (#13). So now I have about 10 top 100 prospects. I threw my first no-hitter this year against the Cubs with Joe Kennedy. If not for an error by Huff, it would have been a perfect game. I won the other two games in that series 16-6 and 1-0 to sweep the scrubs.
  6. I'm assuming in Illinois the sectional comes after the regional? Because here in Indiana the order goes sectional, regional, semi-state, state finals.
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) We (Valpo) play Merrilville tonight in a sectional semi-final battle. Both teams are 19-2 and have beat each other once. I can't wait for the game. What a game! We were down by seven at half and completely dominated the second half and won 69-52. The win upped our record to 20-2 and the sectional championship is tomorrow night.

  9. There's more to the internet than porn. And I for one have never seen a chick blowing a horse.
  10. This is going to be fun working for minimum wage and having to pay for gas and insurance.
  11. Gahh the firewall at school won't let me watch it. What is it?
  12. QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 01:14 PM) Anybody else see when you pitch, sometimes, the ball looks like it is black? Does that mean anything or is the game screwed up a tad? That's the hitters eye. Watch the ball right after it is released and if it is red, its a curveball/splitter, white is fastball, and green is offspeed. It took me a while to figure that out because I didn't read the manual, but it really helped my hitting. I just sit on fastballs and slap line drives all over.
  13. QUOTE(winodj @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 09:31 AM) King Gyros - Michigan City. Still the best mutton platter I ever done eaten. I've never been to the one in MC, but the one here in Valpo is awesome. The prices are very reasonable and the food is great. If I had to eat at the same place everyday it would be a buffet type place that serves Chinese, Mexican, burgers, and Italian.
  14. Last night in the first game of my series against the Cubs I crushed them 16-6. If not for 6 unearned runs after 3 two out errors in the 5th, I would have won 16-0. Vlad had 7 rbi and Jeremy Reed was 4-6 with 3 doubles. So far I think I'm 27-15 in my first season of a dynasty. I manage about half the games and play about half. I'm only in the hole a few hundred thousand so far, so hopefully down the stretch and in the playoffs I'll make a profit.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 09:31 PM) Quick tip: Work your ass off and stay hydrated at ALL times. I never used to drink lots of water while playin, but last summer I caught for two teams and I learned the hard way to drink plenty of water. After every game until I brought a gallon of water with me, I would get a terrible headache after the game. Now I always have plenty of liquids with me.
  16. QUOTE(Heartattack19 @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) Guys, I know all the stupid conditioning does not seem like it has a place in baseball, but it does help. I would love to be in that shape again, you could play a doubleheader then play floor hockey and not be tired at all! now, if i run to first i am DONE. I hated it at the time, why are we doing all of these bleacher climbs, wall sits, and basketball agility drills. I think if my team took it all seriously, we would have won more than 16 games in my four years! Ouch 16 games in four years isn't pretty. And you are absolutely right about the conditioning. In the past ten years, my school had a .750 winning percentage combined in those years, but last year we were just barely above .500. It was mainly because nobody did anything in the offseason like lifting weights or conditioning, and it came back to bite us in the ass. The coaches learned their lesson and are beating us to death so far this year.
  17. Thanks a ton Brian! I'm in a computer graphics class right now, but I don't have photoshop at home. It's cool when people like you can do my work for me.
  18. Good thing I could print as many coupons as I want, and we have two Baskin Robins in town. I got one right after school at the one by my house and then another one after baseball right by the school.
  19. Now we have a new offer. Pedro and Vasquez for Dunn and Perez. Keep in mind I have plenty of pitchers and need a LF until Berkman comes back and I need another corner infielder. (Dunn plays both positions) Should I do it?
  20. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 11:17 PM) You have to have better to comparable players to ginter, hairston, and lamb. None of them put up overally impressive numbers. Perez is a stud but so will pedro in the national league. No way you trade that much pitching ( possibly very good pitching) for three marginal guys at best. Yeah I declined that trade and made a counter of Pedro and Kevin Brown for Perez and Ginter. My pitching staff is stacked and I don't think Pedro will stay healthy so I'm trying to get Perez for him. We'll see what comes of it.
  21. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) It has to be used today, right? No good for me as I won't have time to stop for a scoop. Yep, it has to be used today. I just got mine and it was good. It's not a bad portion for being free either.
  22. If you are a Yahoo! member, go get your free ice cream from baskin robins. Since it's yahoo's 10th b-day, all members get a free cone. Just print the coupon off of yahoo's website. I'm goin to get mine right now.
  23. I wont make a new thread, but I'm debating this blockbuster trade. First you need to know that my pitching staff is stacked and the guy who offered me this has a weak staff. I need a few guys who can fill in anywhere and a thirdbaseman. Here's what he offered. Keith Ginter Mike Lamb Jerry Hairston Oliver Perez for Pedro Bartolo Kevin Brown What do you guys think?
  24. QUOTE(silver and black @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 01:13 AM) Does it have to be the cell? Nah, it can be Chicago or whatever you want it to be.
