  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) Yesterday marked 1st official practices. We did LOTS of fielding practice. Anyone actually playing this year??? I might be. I still don't even know if I want to try out. My school is big and political and I do not like the coaches. I can't wait for Summer and Fall League though.
  2. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) UMKC Kangaroos : They got a new logo this year, I wouldn't want to mess with that preppy 'Roo.
  3. He is my fifth starter too. He is 4-0 right now with an ERA under 2. His stats are better than Schmidt and Prior at this point, and since Lohse went down for the year, he has to keep up the good work for me. He pitched for the Diamondbacks and the Phillies, then went to LA for a season and then to the Orioles last season. He was hurt for a good part of the season last year though.
  4. Valpo lost a hearbreaker by one tonight. UMKC hit a three with 6 seconds left and Valpo came down, missed a layup and tipped it in, but the tip didn't count because it was a split second after the buzzer. Now we should be on a mission to take the Mid-Con tourney and get a bid to the dance.
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) I like the old Brewers logo the best. The M and the B. Well I'll be damned. Never noticed that one either.
  6. I got my dog at a christmas tree farm. She was in a box along with her brothers and sisters. The parents were farm dogs and good hunters, the same goes for my dog. She is very loyal and would never hurt a human, but damn, she is a good hunter.
  7. Anyone? If you want me to find some pictures, just ask. Thanks.
  8. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) that's actually the way they designed it. So that the better pitchers, the ones that hide their motions better, still have the advantage. Awesome idea by them Last night I faced Zito and I could see the green ball way before he released it and still couldn't hit him. It was terrible. But then I hit a walkoff homer with Kenny Lofton off of Wagner. It is so easy to hit off of fastball pitchers. Zito was a tough cookie though.
  9. All this logo talk reminds me of the Expos logo with the "M". :puke
  10. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) Now what do I do with my Terrell jersey I got for $20 after the 2001 season? Burn it. I will join the jersey burning party with you and burn the Kerry Wood jersey my uncle bought for me. I hope nobody picks up this bum.
  11. That's awesome! One of my friends just got a new puppy and he is a lot of fun. I wish my old and lazy dog was a pup again.

    Hey guys

Welcome! It's always great to see new members!
  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 26, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) We could get rid of that 11 in the logo... I never noticed that 11.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan56789 @ Feb 27, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) Holy crap, i just did the mini game hitting thing and got 5000 MVP points for making it to level 5 I made it to level 10 with Rowand. I don't know why, but I never used the hitters eye feature..until tonight. It really works. I just sit on fastballs and hit four home runs in the first game I used it.
  15. Even though the Cubs complain about having a curse, the White Sox would more likely have a curse if there were such things. We threw the World Series! That had to piss off the baseball gods a lot more than not letting a goat into the stadium or having some fan interfere with one foul ball.
  16. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Feb 27, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) go hoosiers Haha wrong thread. 56789, how in the world did you get Beltran and Pujols?
  17. I'm not into having a serious girlfriend in highschool because it seems pointless to me. I don't want all the money I'm making going to a girlfriend. So I guess I haven't really had a bad breakup. I have been telling a lot of girls off and none of the believe me that I don't want to have a serious girlfriend. Oh well. I'm sure if someone really great comes around I'll go out with her. I went on a few dates with a couple different girls this year, but didn't want anything too serious from them. I guess just friends with benefits.
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 26, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) LMAO, Larivee was interviewing Ben before the game. Larrivee: Its so ironic..last year at this time, you and Emeka were going for a national title together. Now, you're competing against each other for the Rookie of the Year. Talk about that irony. Ben: Uh its not really ironic. Ben is awesome. 34-28 Bobcats have the lead midway through the second.
  19. David Wright is a great pick. I was hoping to grab him in the later rounds, but someone else drafted him so now I'm stuck with Boone at 3b. Mota is another guy I was hoping the steal in the latter rounds, but that didn't work out. Your team should be pretty good.
  20. C P. Lo Duca (Fla - C,LF) 1B D. Ortiz (Bos - 1B) 2B M. Loretta (SD - 2B) 3B A. Boone (Cle - 3B) SS C. Guillén (Det - SS) CI C. Wilson (Pit - 1B,LF,RF) MI T. Iguchi (CWS - 2B) IF D. Erstad (LAA - 1B) LF R. Mackowiak (Pit - 3B,LF,CF,RF) CF A. Rowand (CWS - CF,RF) RF V. Guerrero (LAA - RF) OF S. Podsednik (CWS - CF) Util E. Durazo (Oak - Util) BN L. Berkman (Hou - LF,RF) BN F. Thomas (CWS - Util) A few notes, I drafted Aaron Boone late and he is really the only risk I think that I have. Berkman was a steal because I got him in the 10th round and he will be back by May 1. Thomas was my 20th round draft pick, so I'm hoping he can come back soon. And now for my pitching staff. SP J. Schmidt (SF - SP) RP S. Takatsu (CWS - RP) P B. Sheets (Mil - SP) P P. Martínez (NYM - SP) P J. Vázquez (Ari - SP) P T. Percival (Det - RP) P B. Colón (LAA - SP) BN W. Miller (Bos - SP) BN T. Gordon (NYY - RP) BN K. Brown (NYY - SP) If Pedro can stay healthy, I think this staff should dominate. I got Pedro in the 5th round and Sheets in the fourth. Colon and Miller were my 17th and 21st picks because they were buried in the Yahoo rankings. This is a 10 player league.
  21. Sweet deal. I thought it was just a pipedream to get a Pro Bowl Wide Reciever here.
  22. Valpo beat Michigan City tonight to move to 18-2 on the season. Sectionals start on Tuesday. We are riding an 11 game win streak into a very tough sectional. It should be fun.
  23. QUOTE(Chisoxmatt @ Feb 26, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) I was at this game. It was great. A good game by the bulls and they played well for the most part. A sell out crowd. We were makin alot of noise. I love seeing these sellout crowds. I was at the Kings game and it felt like the Jordan days again.
  24. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) Unlike Tyson who plays hard but doesn't live up to his potential and doesn't make the smartest decisions (That airball inside the free throw line with about 1:40 left?). I'm going to defend Tyson on this one. He plays hard every single night and he is not meant to be a scorer. He had 5 blocks tonight and that shot which he airballed was an attempt to beat the shotclock, there were about 2 seconds left. The energy he brings to the team is outstanding.
  25. Another game up in the standings. It's always nice to beat the teams ahead of us.
