  1. Our opening day is the White Sox opening day. So that kind of sucks. Tryouts start Monday, and I tweaked my rotator cuff again last night, so that is no good. Also, our coach told us not to talk about our team on the internet, and that most people on online message boards are failures and we shouldn't be on them anyways.
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan56789 @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) I wasnt on the bus for school today, but i heard our stupid bus driver stopped in the middle of the train tracks for a red lite, then the gates started to come down and the bus driver started honking wildly and screaming "move you son of a b**** move!" and then the guy went through the red lite so the bus could move up. That bus driver is a dumbass for stopping on the tracks with all the kids on the bus. But I guess the same could be said for me, however; I have only went around the gates once, and that was because three cars in front of me did and the train was stopped.
  3. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) You know it's like a $500 fine for crossing the tracks when the gate is down? Not that I'd ever play russian roulette with my life, but that $500 fine should be plenty to wipe out any thought of crossing when the gate is down. I did not know that. However, I live not even a mile from 4 sets of railroad tracks right in a row and I go over them everyday on my way to work, school, and most of my friends houses, and many times a train is stopped and the gates are malfunctioning so you have to go around them. The one that I almost crossed over had two sets of tracks between the gates, not one. It was still my fault for being a dumbass and being in a hurry. Thanks for the info, I will be sure to remember that.
  4. How do you guys get picked off so much? All you gotta do is press the D-Pad to the right and the runner slides back into first safely. At least that works for me, I've never been picked off in this years game.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) Alexander is now on the block for reportedly less than a 1st round pick. If given the choice i'd take Alexander over Edgerin due to Alexander being the healthier of the two. Wow, I would love either of these guys on the Bears. If we didn't have to use a first rounder, got Johnson with the 4th, and added an elite running back, damn we would be set. In my opinion, Johnson, Briggs, and Urlacher would be one hell of a linebacking trio.
  6. Cincy loses to the mighty Bull of South Florida in the C-USA quarters. Wow..
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) Holy s***. What an awesome game the Mid-Con title is! Oakland just canned a 3 with one tic left, down by 2. LOL I still can't believe Oakland pulled that off. ORU was playing in their hometown and Oakland sucks! 12-18 and they are in the tourney. They are usually the walking mat in the Mid-Con.
  8. Colorado is taking it to Texas. The longhorns on the verge of losing in the opening round, down 10 late in the second half..
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan56789 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) Im not sure if this is near death but one time i was driving about 40 in the right lane and some dude in the left lane turned across right in front of me into mcdonalds and i had to slam on my brakes and i had to pull over and relax cus i was so scared Yeah I've had a few of those. Last week was prolly the scariest. I was running late for baseball and was approaching a railroad crossing where a train was sitting there at a complete stop. I live right by these tracks and have drove over them a thousand times. The gates began to come down, and so I decide that I should go around the gate because I'm running late and didn't want to go all the way around. I had my music blaring so I didn't hear that another train on the other track at the same crossing was speeding at me. If I would have left home 3 seconds earlier, I probably would have been on the tracks and smashed by the train. I don't consider it near death, but it was near-near death. Now I have been playing my music a little quieter and driving a little bit safer.
  10. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) Question: Has anyone picked off a CPU runner? Followup: How many times would you say you have been picked off? zero and zero
  11. Wow, I feel really bad for all of you guys. Those are some extreme stories. I have been blessed and not confronted with terrible injuries or near death experiences in my family. *knock on wood*
  12. We really have some basketball talent on this site. That's cool that you can play at your high school and not be that great. My school is so huge it's very hard to make a varsity sport. Either your parents suck the cocks of the coaches or you are super talented in order to make the team. As for my basketball season, I averaged about 10 points a game in intermurals. My team was awful, something like 5-15. My best game was 20 points against another sophmore team and we won by 2.
  13. Today was the first I've seen of him and was really impressed. He's a lot bigger than I thought we would be.
  14. Hawk was interviewing B-Mac during the game and told him Ozzie has said that he would not hesitate and bring up B-Mac if need be. Brandon responded by saying that was his goal coming into ST. It's good to see that he has set his goals high. Edit: I should read all of your post before responding next time.
  15. I made $850,000 in a game versus the Indians. The game impact was 8/10 because I was in first and the Indians were in second. I raised my ticket prices to about $70, $60, and $50. It worked out great. About 13,000 was my attendance, 1,000 over my seasons average. The other 2 games of the series i made 800k and 750k. Edit: This wasn't a playoff game. Just a regular June series.
  16. I remember watching Wood's 20 K game on WGN when I got home from school one rainy April afternoon.. I think I was in fifth grade at the time because it was in 1998 IIRC.
  17. QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) lol you get used to it after a while if you've lived near 26th street for about 13 years Haha I wouldn't know. I live out in the middle of nowhere and have only been in one fight.
  18. QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) Nope i dont think they did.. They probably arrived at the scene 4 hours after i was already gone :banghead Haha, damn popo. That sucks you got the s*** beat out of you for nothing.
  19. Did the Cops ever catch the thugs who tried to steal your car?
  20. The tourney goes regionals (64 teams) to semi-state (16 teams) and finally the Final Four in Indianapolis for the championship.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) Problem with his heel, no big deal, precautionary. Sounds just like Mark Priors injury last spring..
  22. Hawk started giving his home run call when Everet hit one into right-center...it turned out to be a double play because Pods didn't touch third on his way back to second base after the flyout.
  23. My sister went to Germany for one year of school after her senior year of high school. She loved it and still keeps in touch with her host family. Right now, as a junior in college, she is doing a study abroad program in India, New Zeland, and China. She is having the time of her life. I would highly recommend it based on what my sister has told me.
  24. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) I'll bet that incident is a dead issue in the mind of both teams. Maybe to the Twins, but I don't think the White Sox have forgotten about it. I was at that game and it sucked to watch the downfall of the 2004 Sox based on one cheap shot in person.
