  1. New Stadium, great offense, look out. And with the division they are in, I don't see a reason why they can't get the Wild Card because they should beat up on St. Louis and San Fran.

QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) i'm pretty impressed by my postcount...because every one of my posts i know i Meant. MEANT.at the time. and i'm glad i avoided this forum in september beginning or else i would've had a choke avatar. hahaha And then everyone would hate you now like everyone hates me now.
  3. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 05:13 PM) sorry it musta got f***ed up.... merrivile right? Nah Valparaiso. I remember you go to some south of here town that is two words and begins with a B? What class are you in, and how's the team looking this year? We are going to suck.
  4. Well it was a good run for Valpo. Won this morning to get into the final eight, but lost tonight to Penn. The officiating was one of the worst I have ever seen, the security had to keep us and the other fans off the court basically because it was getting so out of hand. We still beat ourselves though..
  5. Yeah Soxy has me beat. All I can b**** about is school work. For example my calc teacher not being there today and assigning us two lessons to learn on our own and do the homework along with anohter worksheet. And I have to write a paper tonight.
  6. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 05:19 PM) No, I am not a writer for the Boston Globe. Thanks for clearing that up.
  7. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 05:14 PM) I think Alex Gonzalez is a better fit with this Red Sox team than Alex Cintron is. Gonzalez is a much better defender, possibly the best defensive short stop in the game and when you couple that with an already fabulous defensive infield, and an already potent offense, I think he's not only a better player, but fits better with this Red Sox line-up than Cintron would. Gonzalez was also had at a similar dollar amount and nothing was given up for him even if Baj virtually is nothing. Are you a writer for the Boston Globe?
  8. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 05:12 PM) Technically, for the final bench spot it is a decent amount. The Dbacks saved some cash and its why they made this deal. They are also getting a guy who should be solid in there pen. If this was last year, I would agree with you. But we aren't on as tight of a budget anymore. I was wondering if you could confirm that Baj just bought a house in Tuscon with his new wife? I thought I heard that somewhere, and if it's true that would work out even better for all parties.
  9. RNW, Cintron is making $1.6 million this year. That is not a large sum of money.
  10. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 05:01 PM) You talk to people through PM. Congratulations, your prize has been shipped and will arrive in 3-5 business days. Why don't you just stop? Anyways, you can never have too many capable players on the bench. 162 games is a heck of a lot of games. Depth is a great tool to have when you are trying to repeat. Blum and Harris have been replaced by Cinton and Mack, that is good news.
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) Gload's the attitude problem? May I ask where this has come from? From reading several articles over the past month, it seems like Borchard has a little bit of one himself. On a separate note, I like the trade. But Ozuna and Cintron seem like the same player, with a huge offensive edge to Cintron. This is odd. I'm interested in seeing the what happens. Cintron doesn't have Ozuna's speed or baserunning ability.
  12. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:57 PM) I've stated my case on several occassions. I watch and follow the White Sox on a daily basis so I enjoy being a member of Soxtalk, even if the White Sox are not my number one team. Please, if you can't talk baseball in a constructive manner, don't talk to me. Go on being your unreasonable, selfish, arrogant, ignorant self and piss everybody else off. You seem to be the one doing the pissing from what I've seen.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:52 PM) he has the same career OBP as Cintron, which you were knocking. Edit: And how much did Boston give up for him?
  14. I haven't seen much of Cintron, but I found it interesting that in 330 ABs last year he had 12 walks and 33 K's. He's going to put the bat on the ball most of the time, but he's not too patient. So I'm guessing he will be batting 8th or 9th for us.
  15. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) We still have the option on next year with Gooch. That works. I just remembered the two year contract, not the option.
  16. Now does this mean Cintron will replace Gooch after this year and have Uribe move over to second?
  17. I think this is the best of both worlds. Didn't Baj just buy a new house in Tuscon? Now he can be really close to home and has a shot to play with a Major League club.
  18. Would it be possible to move the draft back a few hours? I have a mandatory mentoring meeting that afternoon from 12-3.
  19. QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 09:26 PM) agreed. I really am clueless how you get that team in a 14 team draft. lol. thats amazing. pitching is mediocre, not great, not bad but you still got 2 solid closers, and an ace prolly (felix). great team if it really is a 14 team league. Haha, it really is a 14 team league. Some guy on myspace needed an extra guy so I joined the league. I was really suprised at how bad some of the people in the league were. I think the key to my pitching staff is Oliver Perez. If he can return to his 2004 form, I can't be touched, barring injuries to my offense. My main focus was getting hitting first because lately there hasn't been consistent pitching so all of the guys are basically wild cards to have a Cy Young season. Edit: I dropped Olivo and Craig Wilson and picked up Josh Towers and Joe Blanton today. I'm now short one offense player, but there are guys out there just as good as Olivo or Wilson.
  20. Here is one of my teams, 14 team league: C M. Barrett (ChC - C) 1B M. Teixeira (Tex - 1B) 2B P. Polanco (Det - 2B,3B) 3B M. Mora (Bal - 3B) SS M. Tejada (Bal - SS) CI R. Howard (Phi - 1B) MI J. Rollins (Phi - SS) B. Wilkerson (Tex - 1B,LF,CF,RF) LF C. Lee (Mil - LF) CF C. Beltrán (NYM - CF) RF J. Francoeur (Atl - RF) OF B. Bonds (SF - LF) OF W. Taveras (Hou - CF) OF R. Baldelli (TB - CF) Util F. Thomas (Oak - Util) Util M. Olivo (Fla - C) BN C. Wilson (Pit - 1B,LF,RF) Pitching SP F. Hernández (Sea - SP) SP C. Sabathia (Cle - SP) SP L. Hernández (Was - SP) RP B. Ryan (Tor - RP) RP C. Cordero (Was - RP) P N. Cotts (CWS - RP) P C. Capuano (Mil - SP) BN J. Duchscherer (Oak - RP) BN S. Shields (LAA - RP) BN Ol. Pérez (Pit - SP) Our league has way too many players for a 14 team league, but I'm satisfied with what I got. What do you guys think?
  21. Talk about Karma. Wow what a dumbass on so many levels.
  22. The Cubs front office reminds me of Big Brother and the Cubs fans are the citizens of Ocenia.
  23. QUOTE(SnB @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) are we seriously going to complain about them talking about another team? Um no? I was just putting it out there that Kruk picked us. I just added in the other things that were talked about.
