  1. They didn't have to play Miami this year, except for the bowl game. Their non-conference schedule besides FSU this year (whom they have always played), was Middle Tennessee State and Eastern Michigan.
  2. Exactly, Zook can recruit but he can't coach. He couldn't keep Florida going after Spurrier left, how is going to resurrect a program like Illinois?
  3. Well sorta. The BCS was also the brainchild of Trangese, the Big East commissioner. I don't even know if he's still with the Big East. I think he was trying to lend credibility to his conference by including it in the "Big 6", but without Va Tech and Miami, football-wise it's sorrier than the WAC (no disrespect to the conference, it's one of my favorites, but it's not the most talented either).
  4. As an unbiased observer, a Noles fan. I think Illinois has a good team, but winning without any inside presence whatsoever is very tough. Augustine, Ingraham, Smith, they're all crap. Dee Brown and Deron Williams are very, very good. Blink and you'll miss them. Luther Head is a top notch defender and Roger Powell is that X factor that everyone needs. The last national champ I can think of without a presence inside is Arizona and that was all Bibby. A.J. Bramlett was no Okafor, you dig. We'll just see, I guess. UNC is a force to be reckoned with. Say what you want about Santa Clara, Sean May and Marvin Williams are somethin else when teamed up with Felton and McCants. But really, right now it's f***in December. There's no need to get your panties in a bunch. The beauty of college ball is the tournament sitting on the horizon. Que sera, sera.
  5. I don't really think UConn is the sixth-best team in the country, but they won't face a challenge until Jan 5 against BC, or Jan 10 against Oklahoma.
  6. Yeah but Boone and Villanueva are solid enough. They are lacking a solid ball-handler.
  7. I saw the first 10 or so minutes of that Indiana game. UConn was wicked sloppy, they are missing Ben Gordon badly.
  8. why would the sonics, the 14-3 sonics, trade ray allen for anything on the chicago bulls roster??
  9. I picked it up for $3.52 at EB today. Anyone in the Chicago area, maybe you'll pay more I dunno but for me it was worth the $4. Maggs has been a classy indvidual for his entire Sox career and whether or not he stays with the Sox (blah blah blah I know about all the contract s***) I'll be proud to wear his jersey still and display his figurine because he represented this organization well, maybe better than it deserved. I'll never forget his homerun at the all-star game in Seattle, maybe it was downplayed because it followed Jeter but I've never been more proud to be a Sox fan. Hats off to Maggs.

  11. Dude, don't say that. Have some class, be above it. But even if you're not gonna be classy, have a sense of history. That's a horrible thing to say, regardless of race, color, religion, ethnicity, anything.
  12. I gots a family to feed. Why should I help this site, when have they ever helped me?! I'm at risk, I have a lot of risk being on this site at all. I could injure my typing fingers, and then what?? No more bling-bling, that's what.
  13. Hey, if you substitute "30 mansions" with "dorm room" and "rap music" with "semi-obscure punk/folk/prog rock", well then you've got something close to my life.
  14. http://www.themorningnews.org/archives/how..._anchorless.php Short but funny article.
  15. Ah I remember using those 5 1/4 drives in like first/second grade. The computer monitors were green text on a black background, everything was "Chicago" font. The disks had horribly blurry clip art that went in the stories we wrote (printed on dot matrix printers, of course). The good ol' days.
  16. porkchop sandwiches is still my favorite, followed by the computer man.

"No, if anyone orders merlot, I'm leaving. I am NOT drinking any f***ing merlot!" I liked it alot, it moves slow, but like everyone else said it's got really good writing. Also, I liked how it mentioned Bukowski. The flow of this movie was sorta like one of his books. If you can't remember what part I'm talking about, it's where Giamatti says he's a stain on a napkin on a garbage dump etc. Interesting aside: Giamatti's father Bart was the commisioner who banned Pete Rose.
  18. Millencolin. Not metal, but not to be forgotten.
