And you are making this assumpiton based on what? He has sucked for the past 4 years.
-
That makes two of us.
-
You can make all the guarantees you want, however they are nonsense. He is not the same pitcher he once was. Forget about him, there is no way you will ever know what he would have done in that situation. Everyone in every organization knows what he is. A left handed situational pitcher and an injury just waiting to happen. He has been injured often. This past injury was not his first and it won't be his last. This is why every team has passed him up and won't give us anythig decent in return. Open your eyes.

I hope this is sarcasm, but then it should be in green. If you really believe this then go to Google and do a search for BLOWN SAVES. Go to the third listing down and you will find out how Billy Koch did what he did in Oakland. They saved his ass numerous times over there. He has sucked for 4 years now. He has blown a lot of saves and has given up a lot of hits the past 4 years. I don't care how many he has actually saved. He will never throw 100+ again. Never! However, he is also untradeable. Who the hell wants this guy for 6 million? We could only possibly release him and just eat the 6 million or hope someone else signs him and we end up paying him a little bit less.
-
I have supported this guy all along. I can't put up with this crap anymore. We should have went at least 3-3 on this trip. AT LEAST! And we end up going 1-5. I have had enough. Bring on SHingo as our closer. He deserves it.
-
Shingo will be the closer by Tuesday. That is my personal opinion. I think Ozzie is a big reason we are winning this season. His managing style has helped us win. He is unpredictable. You take the good with the bad. His will make mistakes, but so far his style has worked very well for us. If you are going to complain about his style when we lose then do the same when we win.
-
Yeah, but he sure will eat up all those innnigs! Who could we ever get to replace all those innings he was eating up last year?
-
In his prime I have never seen a more feared leadoff hitter than Rickey Henderson.
-
Atkins? Is he referring to the no carbs guy or the White Sox pitcher Jon Adkins? Chris Hester should get his s*** straight or ask his proff readers to do a better job. A baseball expert shouldn't be getting this stuff wrong.
-
I understand that. However, the sample size you are taking is so small that it is meaningless. I agree with YASNY, if the lineup stops working then Ozzie can address making changes. Until then, why mess with something that is working? The lineup is scoring. op 8th Ball:1 Strike: 1 Out: 0 Willie Harris singles on a ground ball to right fielder Ichiro Suzuki. Juan Uribe out on a sacrifice bunt, pitcher Freddy Garcia to first baseman John Olerud. Willie Harris to 2nd. Frank Thomas strikes out swinging. Top 8th Ball:1 Strike: 1 Out: 2 Carlos Lee doubles (13) on a line drive to center fielder Randy Winn. Willie Harris scores.
-
Cheat, that must be such a small sample size that it really isn't a fair stat. Has our lineup really not been scoring since Maggs has been hurt? May 20th - 10 Runs May 26th - 4 Runs May 27th - 9 Runs May 28th - 4 Runs May 29th - 1 Run May 30th - 11 Runs June 1st - 4 Runs June 2nd - 2 Runs June 3rd - 4 Runs 9 games - 6 wins and a 6 run per game average. I say the lineup is fine with Frank hitting third and Carlos Lee hitting 4th. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Will the Bulls take another chance on a hometown kid, or at least home state. He is moving up the draft board and is not predicted to go to the Bulls. Scouts say if his shooting improves he can be in an elite group of players. Any thoughts?

What would it take to get Garcia?

I heard ESPN 1000 talking about this yesterday. Both KW and Boyer are in SEA. -
THat may be right, that may be the time he left. However, he stopped signing long before that and customers were allowed to pass through and look at him. They should have been able to shake his hand, but he wouldn't even do that. He wouldn't even look at them, he was looking around and paying no attention to the paying customers or children. He is a complete dick.
-
Probably for the same reason it pisses me off as much as it does. It involves disppointing children.
-
He is also wrong wbout the time he left. I was listening to ESPN 1000 when people were calling in that he stopped signing and left early. He left around 7:00-7:15. Mariotti is trying to make this situation smaller than it actually is by some of the things he wrote in his article. If this was anyone on the South Side he would be ripping them a new one. Plus when the hell did Mariotti ever talk to Prior or any other athlete for that matter?
-
To me Prior just looks like he would be an asshole. I heard pretty much that he was and this confirms it. He is a dickhead no doubt about it. He looks smug and talks smug. What a piece of s*** to do this to all those kids.

Ozzie has stated that Frank will be his #3 and Carlos his #4 whenever Magglio is out.

What would it take to get Garcia?

awesome!!! Now lets ask them to throw in Guardado and we will add some more young players. Honel or Reed? Guardado's numbers: 22 games 26 IP 13 Hits 5 Walks 29 Ks 1.04 ERA .69 WHIP .149 Batting Average Against PLUS WE STICK IT TO THE TWINS AT THE SAME TIME!!! -
Good research the Cheat. I take back what I said then. I just don't want to see Garland or Sho not pitch every fifth day. I like how they are pitching and wouldn't want to see them hurt by a trade. I would like to see something done about this closer situation however. Maybe Guardado AND Garcia? What would it take to get something like that done? Would you give up Honel, Reed, and Borchard for Garcia and Guardado? We would have to resign Garcia as well as Magglio and pick up the option for Guardado for me to completely like this deal, but I would do it if the Mariners would.
-
Let me ask you guys this. How many starts a season does a 5th starter get? If we go out and give up a lot for a starter then Garland or Shoenweis will become the 5th starter. Both have pitched really well this season. I don't think the 5th starter spot comes up that often to be a NEED. Now if you don't think Shoenweis or Garland can not keep it up the whole season and you want a more dependable pitcher to take their place that is a different situation. I just don't think that we should give up a lot for a player that affects only 15-20 games a year. I would be more inclined to get a left handed bat or a closer before going after a 5th starter. That is just my personal opinion on the matter.

You are right on there. Plus why put the blame all on him? We had the bases loaded and couldn't scor ein 2 consecutive innings. Then we had Crede on 2nd with 1 out and on third with 2 out and couldn't score him. It was our situational hitting not getting it done. Is he partially to blame? Of course, but he shouldn't be shouldering all of the responsibility for this pathetic loss.
