  1. QUOTE(CardsJimEdmonds15 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 08:18 PM) Edmonds just made a fantastic catch up in Houston Be sure to check it out.. WOW! Wouldn't it be down in Houston?
  2. About 45 minutes ago, I accidentally voted for Liriano. Kinda sleeping at the wheel here. If A.J. loses by one vote, feel free to ban me.
  3. Not sure why, but its still letting me vote. Doubt they'll count, but I'm gonna keep going anyway.
  4. Trying to keep voting without the bosses noticing. Here's the latest, per Riefert...
  5. QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) One Wes Anderson film? That list really does suck. Yah, no kidding. The Royal Tennenbaums is definitely in my top 10. This list immediately lost credibility as soon as I saw Dodgeball on the list. I even mildly enjoyed it to some extent when I saw it at the theater, but when the funniest moment in a movie is some dude getting hit in the balls with a wrench, thats hardly a top comedy.
  6. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 05:44 PM) Pods won last year because we had the Red Sox fans on our side. They did'nt want Jeter to get in. What helps though is that we aren't competing with any Yankees and/or Red Sox...whose fan bases have been known to be good ballot stuffers.
  7. No lineup yet, but the scoreboard report on 670 just said that Gooch is still out. Cintron will obviously be playing second tonight.
  8. Didn't see this posted anywhere. From Reifert's blog...
  9. Well, it doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to think that something is up. This was in the Daily Herald a few days ago...
  10. Seems like Williamson isn't making many friends at the moment. From 2 seperate Trib pieces...
  11. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 04:04 AM) I love Phil Rogers' selections for the all-city team 95% of the time. But I just wanted to remind everyone that Phil did choose Ryan Dempster over Bobby Jenks on this years team. And that does not even account for the fact that Dempster is making 5 million and Bobby is making 300,000 dollars. Bobby is just unbelievable. To Rogers' defense, he did write this about a month and a half ago, when Dempster still hadn't blown a save and Bobby was still gaining velocity and was less than dominating. I'm pretty sure that if he made his All-city team today, Bobby would be a no-brainer.
  12. This is the best that I could find...
  13. Actually, the best quotes after the game came from...who else:
  14. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) A Cubs fan said the garbage doesn't matter, because they already have garbage in the stands, on the field, in the bullpen, in the dugout, and in the front office. Garbage in, garbage out. There were actually a couple posters on there rooting for Dempster to blow it, just so Ramirez would have another shot at a cycle. :headshake
  15. Didn't want to start another Sox vs. Mariotti thread, so this appeared to be an appropriate place for this peice. From the Daily Herald...
  16. Funny story...the guy pictured in the print version of the story is a buddy of mine who is a janitor at the Daily Herald. The picture features him wearing a Sox hat with a Cub tatoo on his arm that is crossed off (as to fit with the story's theme). Well, he's a die hard Cub fan (never switched sides) who didn't know what the picture was being taken for. The Sox hat and the anti-Cub logo were both photoshopped into the picture. Needless to say, we gave him a lot of s*** today.
  17. Dodgers won it all the year I was born. Funny thing though. I always thought that I'd be doomed as a baseball fan due to the fact that I was born during the strike in 1981 (the season resumed 4 days after I arrived on the scene). Of course, the Sox won it all last year, so thankfully that theory went to hell.
  18. Like the sig, but I'm a huge fan of your avatar. I miss Arrested Development.
  19. I left early, but not because of the massive beating we were getting. Friend got sick. Although, I'll admit that I didn't put up much of a fight...Javy frustrated the hell out of me tonight. Won't say I'm proud of it though. Actually, when Gooch hit the slam, my first reaction was amazement, and shortly followed by embarrassment with my early departure.
  20. The Mets may be the only team in the NL to put up a fight against an AL team in a best of 7, but I still don't think they're that good either. If I were to name the best teams in the big leagues, it would probably look like this... 1. White Sox 2. Tigers 3. Red Sox 4. Oakland 5. Yankees 6. Mets I honestly don't see the Mets winning a best of 7 series with any of those 5 listed above. Yes, they have a better record than most of these teams, but imagine the our record if we got to play in the NL.
  21. If Jose gets Everett out, we'd have been out of that inning.
  22. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) i want to make fun of them so much...but i\'m restricted cause of buerhle attempting the same....dammit they\'re still vaginas, i like the cards too probably my favorite NL team if i had to be forced to pick one Don't let Mark Buehrle stop you. It was stupid when he suggested it.
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:05 AM) Its one thing stealing signs about hit and runs and stealing bases. Stealing the signs with a camera for every pitch, having someone relay that sign to the dugout, then having someone sign the pitch to the batter is almost impossible. Sounds like the cards got a little cubbie in them. Actually, if I remember correctly, the Cards complained about the same s*** against the Cubs a few seasons back. I can't find anything written about it at the moment, but a couple of Cub fans in my office just confirmed it, for what its worth. Whatever. If the Sox got the beatings that the Cardinals recieved in the first two games, they might be wondering the same thing. Its hard to come to the realization that your pitching may have been that bad.
