  1. Certainly feel better now than I did about 5 days ago. Good to see the Count rebound. And the bullpen has looked ridiculous in recent days. Big for Pods.
  2. Watching SportsCenter. Took me a few days, but I'd like to thank the fine folks at ESPN for reminding me why I hate the Red Sox. The guy looked good, but holy hell!

This also had to be the best I've seen of Toby. His reaction to Ryan and Kelly's bickering was priceless. And I was finally able to gather the full Creed story to Angela... “I remember it was very late at night, like 11-11:30. Big fella comes in screaming about God knows what. I think maybe Halpert had stolen his car - something like that. So the big fella pulls out a sock filled with nickels. Then Schrute grabs a can of hair spray and a lighter…”

Pippety Poppety, Getting the Zoppety. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) NO he said roy walked in with a sock full of nickels THEN Schrude came out with the hairspray and the lighter Yah, I was trying to remember how that went down and was too lazy fast forward the DVR. Funny, either way.

Big fan of tonights episode. If for any other reason, because it provided yet another classic Creed moment. I just about lost it when he was explaining his version of how the Roy attack went down to Angela. "And then Schrude hit him with a sock filled with nickels..."

  7. Looks fabulous! Any chance we can get a 1280X800 version for us widescreeners?
  8. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 03:30 PM) hopefully Juan steals more than 0 bases this year. Mike Sweeney too, always.... If last year was any indication, we should add Mark Teehan to that list.

  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 3, 2007 -> 06:32 AM) Really this situation shouldn't have been one in the 1st place, and that's the problem here. Hardly was a situation to begin with. Why this is such a big deal is beyond me. So Ozzie said some not-so-nice things about McCarthy and Anderson. I'm sure nobody on the Sox or the Rangers are losing any sleep over it. A whole lot more was made out of the Mariotti situation, and it was in the midst of one of our biggest winning streaks of 06. Personally, I'd rather Ozzie took a no comment, but whatever. Until Ozzie's rants start costing us wins, I'll start caring. In the meantime, its safe to assume that there are players who love Ozzie and players who don't. You can say that for just about every manager. And its safe to say that there are players Ozzie likes and players he doesn't. Same can be said for just about every manager. But saying he doesn't play somebody because of personal bias is nothing more than speculation. My favorite argument, of course, is the "if Brian Anderson was Latino" comment...which is just plain ridiculous. As if his s***ty hitting for 80% of the season didn't have anything to do with it. Ozuna had a much better season than Scott Podsednik and yet Ozzie kept trotting out Podsednik on a daily basis. For the record, I wasn't a fan of Ozzie's handling of the outfield. But the only rational that I can cite for his decisions were simply his preference to have more offense from the left handed side (thus keeping Pods and Mack out there). Anything more than that would be nothing more than pulling theories out of my ass. Coming in a close second is the "taking notes from Scott Skiles" argument. Please tell me that you have a better example than a coach who is generally disliked by players, has had players quit on him on numerous occasions, and has never won anything.
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 02:28 PM) That's what you think, but you don't know that for sure, none of us do. I personally couldn't care less about Frank Thomas right now, that being said I know a lot of people still care a lot about Frank and want him to succeed, that I certainly understand. But for someone to cheer for him to beat the White Sox in a game, that makes absolutely zero sense to me. Personally, I don't even care if we suck and are 20 games out of first. I never, under any circumstance, root for somebody at the expense of the White Sox. I'm a White Sox fan first. A Frank Thomas fan a distant distant second. Ideally, I'd like to see him hit it at the Cell when the Sox are up 10-0 in the 9th. But if he hit his 500th off us and it won the game for the Jays, to hell with that. I want the Sox to win every game. I wouldn't shrug my shoulders and say, oh well, at least Frank hit his 500th. Sox lose and I ain't happy. And I couldn't be a bigger Frank Thomas fan. Still, let him do it against someone else.
  12. QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 26, 2007 -> 05:13 AM) did you see last king of scotland to really fight his winning of the oscar? That's what I was thinking. Whitaker beating out O'Toole does sound funny...until you see Last King of Scotland. It was a pretty powerful performance. The movie would have sucked without it. As for The Departed, I thought it was mediocre. I loved the first half of it, but the second half seemed silly to me. I thought Letters from Iwo Jima was the most impressive of the bunch.
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Feb 25, 2007 -> 01:34 AM) I hope he does it against us. Like TheOcho said, if it doesn't have an affect on the the outcome, I guess I'd be fine with it. But I'd never want to see any player succeed at the expense of the Sox. I was extremely happy to see Frank succeed in Oakland last year. But I certainly didn't enjoy watching him hit crippling homers off us during the stretch run. Frank is my favorite player of all time, but if he hit his 500th homer against us and it ended being the deciding run, I would be quite pissed. I can't wait to see him get his 500th, but if he ain't in a Sox uni, I'd prefer to see him do it against somebody else. Hopefully that game will be nationally televised.

    The Office

Not one of the funnier episodes, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Dwight had me rolling the entire episode. Speaking of Dwight, I recently came across this gem on YouTube...
  15. Cub fans ought to get used to this photo...

  18. QUOTE(The Bones @ Feb 18, 2007 -> 01:27 AM) I think they're all great but I've got to say Either/Or is at the top of my list. Elliott Smith, XO, Figure 8, and From A Basement On The Hill are all good in their own different ways. And I would put Roman Candle just a notch below all of them. And I just came across elliottsmithbsides.com recently and I gotta say a lot of his unreleased material is just as good as, if not better than, some of the stuff on his albums. I love Stickman, Abused, High Times, Brand New Game. And for some reason I can't stop listening to the instrumental track See You In Heaven. I guess you could say that I'm a little obsessed. I've been hooked on Elliott Smith for about 3 years now. I'll admit, it was his presence on the Good Will Hunting soundtrack that got my attention. And I agree Bones, his entire catalog is amazing. While Either/Or is probably a more well-rounded album from beginning to end, I'm kind of partial to Elliott Smith. But you really can't go wrong with any of them. There are only a 3 or 4 songs on the new release that I haven't heard, but I'm still anxious to hear the finishing touches on all the others. "Seen How Things Are Hard" is among my favorite Elliott tunes. Anyways, I think it says a lot about his talent that so many great songs would be cut out of the studio releases.
  19. QUOTE(The Bones @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 07:52 PM) New Elliott Smith Release New Moon (24 songs from his time with KRS) Any Elliott Smith fans out there? I just got into him a couple years ago after he had already died. I have all 6 of his studio albums which are amazing. Even though some of the songs on New Moon can be found online, this is about the biggest thing I've had to look forward to from him...ever. Hey, another Elliott fan! Just saw this the other day. Very exciting. Although I have downloaded most of the songs off the www.elliottsmithbsides.com, most of them aren't of the best quality. A studio release ought to fix that. Of course, some Elliott fans may argue that lo-fi is the way to listen to him. Doesn't really matter to me, as I'm a huge fan of his entire catalog. Got a favorite Elliott album?
  20. Didn't see this posted anywhere, so here ya go.
  21. Looks like the Spring Training hats are pretty standard throughout the league. I have no problem with them.

    The Office

As the charter member of the Creed fan club, I was more than satisfied with this episode. He had more face time in this episode then he's had all season. Overall great episode. Much better than the wedding episode IMO. Michael's whole candy bar analogy during his speech was the highlight for me.
