I get too many Rose flashbacks though. I remember when he had the meniscus tear and I got all excited yet he still missed the whole season (despite fact other players had came back from similar injury in 10-20 days).
-
I am hoping Zach’s injury gets confirmed as mild and we are looking at a 1-3 week timeline vs 1-3 months. At this point can’t be major structural - so either meniscus or more normal swelling/slight strain is my guess. Hopefully just slight strain.
-
Haha - I can confirm there are probably some aspects of the job I would eventually do better than anyone on the club today (quite frankly I do think with time I could be Ted Phillips on steroids)…but if I were in charge of roster personnel - people would be begging for Pace to come back haha.

I believe Hacket and Flores are on the docket today in terms of HC candidates. Seems to be a ton of recent press around now dynamic Hacket is. I just think anyone can look good around Rodgers but I get the fact that he did get a crazy good year out of Bortles. If it weren’t for Nagy and how bad that went I probably wouldn’t be as anti Hackett.

Just saw the video - hopefully it is good news that he walked off pretty okay (without help) but who knows. Also - for the teammates these can be the types of things when they happen in a game where the team just loses focus (and can partially explain a drubbing). Would love to see a run in them in the 2nd half so they don't have back to back 30 point losses to 2 of the best teams in the NBA.
-
Oh geeze. I just hope Lavine is okay. Team has to use these two drubbings as a way to get back grounded and get back doing the little things right, especially knowing that Zach is clearly out for at least a while (hopefully we get good news and it isn't anything serious and he can come back fast).

Almost no young QB really is that great at processing the field and reading. You only see that advancement come years down the road (with rare exceptions). Even the best young QB's - when you really look at their offense - they have been simplified to be go here or there or there type of items. They need to be accurate, quick to process and more recently rely on athleticism to help overcome their real weaknesses at just being a master at reading a D. Now once you are 5, than 10 years into the league - well - at that point you don't have same athleticism - but you've seen everything and naturally are going to be much better at the other things. I think it is a total misconception that most elite young QB's are great at reading D's (I just think they are put in better positions and than obviously have to have quick releases and all that other stuff). They do need to play within a playclock. It is why I think when you look at how Chiefs or Cardinals used mahomes/Murray early - you can see how they do it. My lone exception is probably someone like Mac Jones.

Shingo Takatsu Elected to Japanese Baseball HOF

The year where he had that "frisbee" working was so awesome. A one year wonder - likely driven by age (35 I think when he started with the White Sox). -
I am sure Mitch agent is leaking some of this stuff too - help get Mitch another shot. But the quotes about Mitch in training camp saying this stuff isn't working, having issues, pointing out options - coaches ignoring. Not good. Allen Robinson on radio today with Keyshawn, Jayson, & Max - basically threw coaching staff under the bus. Maintained professionalism - but basically said game plans were horrendous (in particular how they were going to use him). Nagy had not spoke to Allen Robinson between the playoff loss and 1st training camp (which was odd to Robinson since he implied they always had a tight relationship). He indicated he doesn't expect to get tagged again.
-
Honestly - I would love to hear Foles thoughts. You can tell he has a very strong opinion that he's kept tight for a while.
-
I am convinced Mitch will be the next Tannehill. Man some of these leaks today - not good look for Nagy. There is probably another side to the story - but what dude never even gave Mitch a chance.
-
I assume Flores will end up with Texans - potentially taking Watson off of the trade market.
-
Also - as Bmags outlined it - I think the least exciting names to me would be a Frazier/Ireland combination. Both just would be so meh. Maybe they work out - but Ireland only excites me if its because they got a HC with real clout who feels good about partnering with Ireland. And I'm probably wrong and reality is all of this is a crap shoot because almost every single person is extremely well qualified and its a matter of do they have a bit of luck on their side (their picks don't get hurt - they get lucky and land the right QB, maybe have a late round dart that pays off). The difference between success and failure can be so small in NFL.

THe Bears or are you making smart remark on Texans? I still say if someone told me BOB was going to play nicely with the front office and learned that he can't juggle both - I think he would move right below Harbaugh as my top candidate.
-
An was he really that bad? I mean Davis Mills made a ton of progress during the season.
-
Fabulous news - get better Derrick Jones!
-
This is the advantage the Bears have. Right or wrong - Bears have facilities and they have ownership that has actually shown patience. That has to resonate - even if draft capital is a bit low and roster is meh (with huge dependency obviously on Fields). But a clear lack of real playmakers (outside of Roquan).

I think he's been out like 7 or 8 days thus far from COVID. He entered protocol on the 5th of January. Prior to that he had been out due to the foot injury (after briefly coming back from a hamstring injury). The good news is - the extra rest should help his body. There were some reports that he's been able to cardio and physical work in his house, which gave me the impression he either had no symptoms or extremely mild symptoms. That said - I think Friday is exactly 10 days so I presume he has to go through some increased stress levels, etc, which is why he won't play Friday against Warriors. Any news on yesterday's injury. Is it a couple week thing or a dreaded season ender?
-
What happened? I went to read with my kids came downstairs to watch the end thinking it would be good and it was a route. I’m not going to worry - if anything let this teach the team a lesson. Hopefully Jones injury is not as bad as it looked. Need to get Caruso back this week (sounds like it won’t be for Golden State) and ideally get Javonte back end of next week.
-
Will have to check these out.
-
It is impressive that he got 35 TD's out of Blake Bortles in a single season. I had no recollection of Bortles having that type of year.
-
He could be - but I am not hiring him. Anyone can look smart working with Rodgers.
-
What I really want to see is the Bears hire 2 of the names on this list. Obviously - first get the GM - than based upon who they've gotten to know, give the GM authority to add more firepower to the room (aligning to the GM's vision of course) - but use these meetings to open the door and create upward mobility. I still say the goal should be to upgrade the overall front office capabilities and that is more than just the GM. For example - maybe Khan is so upset you hire someone else but based upon initial meetings and the right pathway forward - you are able to offer him a lucrative position that puts him closer to where he wants to be (and gets him away from the Steelers).
-
So is it good. Its been on my list for a while but haven't yet dove into it.

I was listening to Dan Patrick after I dropped kids off at school this morning. He had Lepatard on who was adamant that Miami is hiring Harbaugh. Said its just an act the statement that he won't lure him. Said Harbaugh is going to NFL and if he is leaving, Ross wants him to run his team not someone elses team and will basically give him a blank check. Not sure how connected or not Lepatard is (spelling?) - but hadn't seen it really reported anywhere. It is Miami so I presume he has pretty good connections given its his backyard.
