  1. Really Freddy has pitched good thus far, but we give up a run thanks to a bleed single (on second look it probably wasn't Freddy's fault, it just found the right place) and than our piece of spiff left fielder made yet another blunder that cost us a run and made Freddy throw XTRA pitches.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) I'd be thrilled if our SP and LF were on a different team next season. It's too guys that have seen their physical skills deteriorate way too soon in their career.
  3. Well, Pods gosh darn up cost us.
  4. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:42 PM) wow, hawk with a comment about freddy right there. What he say? I got teh Royals announcers.
  5. spiff. Freddy dogged it to 1st and thats an infield single. UGLY, should be two outs.
  6. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:37 PM) Apparently, you've never watched Pablo out there. I have no doubt that if Pablo consistently played LF that he would be lightyears better than POds. Pods is freaking terrible. Adam Dunn is the only guy worse.
  7. Now a clean single and two on.
  8. Scotty BLOWS. God is he pathetic.
  9. Couple of hard hit balls in the inning, but just a walk and 3 outs to show for it.
  10. Gload has pretty decent speed. I'm not opposed to him running, especially since Hudson doesn't look all that quick to home.
  11. I love Ross...he works the count well, fouls off a bunch of pitches and draws the walk.
  12. Gload's having a pretty good AB here. Making Hudson throw pitches which is good.
  13. Damn, Gload just clobbered it for what I thought was a double and it went just foul I guess.
  14. Wow, Crede hits it to the deepest part of the park and Gathright catches it as he runs into the wall. For a second I thought they were going to see each other and Gathright was gonna miss it.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:23 PM) That was quick....hopefully Hudson won't have the control of his splitter this whole game. 87 and 84 My hope is he'll lose command and the Sox will be able to sit on something. Don't know if it will happen, but thats the gameplan. Make him get the ball elevated.
  16. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:24 PM) haha, steff actually got to see me try and make progress on my chick situation at the last game we were at. Luckily we didn't sit by steff the entire game or that would have ended quickly I wish someone video taped it.
  17. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) new girl? wtf is this shenangians I told you I wasn't into the whole long distance thing, so I had to find someone else 3 up 3 down 6 pitches
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:18 PM) Jason has a Danny Wright beard. I bet Freddy hits 90 this inning. But its the chick sun glasses that complete the package. And I'm pretty cleanly shaven these days Steve, the new girl likes it that way. She's not a fan of my facial hair but give me some time and I'll get back to my lazy ways.
  19. You used to be able to also use Real.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 05:13 PM) It makes no sense that Mackowiak isn't playing tonight. He's going with the hot bat and I got no problem with that.
  21. Lets go Sox, lets get some runs for Frederico tonight.

I think we still have Crede two more years. SO with that I have no problem letting Joe prove this isn't a fluke year and than if he does good midway or at the end of next year (in the off-season) sit down and hammer out a deal. Sure we could pay more, but I'd take my chances on that cause I'd rather make sure he keeps things up for more than just one year. I think he's long had the talent to do what he's doing, but plenty of guys blow up for a year and do things right and than get back into there bad habits after that.
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) The problem with your Angels plan is that I count 3 players who still don't have positions in their IF. Casey Kotchman, Dallas McPherson, and Brandon Wood. Yes, Wood is another year away in my opinion also, but Cabrera is also signed for 2 more years. Wood is a year away and I wouldn't move Cabrera for Wood. I realize a lot of people around here don't like Cabrerra, but I watch the Angels play day in day out and go to probably 35 games a year and all I can say is Cabrerra (this year) is about as good of a shortstop as there is in baseball. He can hit, run, field, and is damn smart on the base paths. He also has a tremendous attitude and is one of the leaders in the Angels clubhouse. Oh, Kocman and McPherson are both toast in my opinion and I think we'll see the Angels move a few of those guys (McPherson or Kochman may stick around on the bench though and provide some much needed depth). I'm not too concerned because Kochman isn't what the Angels need (Morales should be out there). However, if they can move Anderson, one more roster spot opens up for one of those bats. I should note I see no reason to make room for McPherson (who I think is a great prospect, but bottom line, his injuries have became a trend and the Halo's would be a fool to hand him any job).
  24. Guys, I just want to make one thing clear. Alex Cintron couldn't hold Juan Uribe's jock strap. Ozzie is sending Juan a much needed message, but lets not forget the same thing was done at times to Andruw Jones as well. Bottom line, Juan Uribe is one of the 3 best defensive shortstops in baseball and one of the very best shortstops in the game (outside of the upper echelon guys). All this stuff saying he's not a good shortstop and yada yada yada is so much phony baloney its ridiculous. Get out and watch some baseball instead of burying your heads in the stat sheet. You watch Juan over the course of the season and watch other team's shortstops and you'll be real happy we have Juan. Not saying Juan couldn't do some things better, but he is what he is. If he ever improves in a few areas he could be a full blown superstar, but I don't think that will ever happen.
  25. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 11:34 AM) Excellent, another player to stick in front of their kids that they won't trade! Ramirez is the perfect fit. I got things all planned out for the off-season. Howie Kendrick will move to 2nd, SS will be Cabrerra, Morales will play 1st or DH (DH if they can find a taker for Anderson) with Ramirez (or Tejada) playing 3rd base. With the infield set, they'll use Maicer Itzuris as the super platoon player (and a damn good one at that) while giving Wood the extra year he will need in the minors (Aybar probably become trade bait). The outfield will look like Rivera/Figgins (everyday CFer and with time he should turn into a pretty damn solid one. The only reason he stinks now is cause of his reads and thats because he plays all over the place; otherwise he has a good arm and tremendous range) with Vladdy in RF. Oh and Napoli and Mathis will probably be the catching duo. Rotation: Pretty much the same as this year, pen relatively the same. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) There's no way the Sox add BOTH Oswalt and Zito. Nor do I think Juan Uribe is going anywhere. If anything happens in the rotation it's going to be the exit of Garcia and or Vazquez. Insert McCarthy and if we were on Xbox, insert Oswalt. But he ain't going anywhere either. 1. Contreras 2. Buehrle 3. Garland 4. McCarthy 5. ??? Rheal Cormeal or however you spell it just signed a one year extension when he was traded to the Reds (it was part of the deal according to Jayson Stark).
