I'm only looking at tomorrow. Whether the Sox won 3-2 or 14-2, the result is the same, were up 1-0 in the series. Sure we beat them bad yesterday, but a loss is a loss and all it takes is a win tomorrow by Boston and things are knotted up with Boston now having home field advantage. Hopefully Mark Buehrle can pitch well and the bats will be able to put the pressure on Boston and come up with some key hits. IIRC, Boston has hit Mark around pretty good in years past (especially Manny). Come on White Sox!!!

Its funny, I read that article and it says James is a defensive stopper...my ass. Alston is the better of the two defensively, imo. I can't say I've watched a whole lot of either though.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 05:57 PM) Once more no place to really put this but it's a good trade for the rockets... http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...ston_for_james/ Agreed. James is a good scorer when he gets hot, but Alston played terrific last year and is a pretty solid defender (something James is not). Definately a very good move. I'm guessing the Raptors made this deal because they wanted nothing to do with Alston's attitude (if I recall he had a few runs ins with their coach last season).

All credit goes out to Mr. Showtime. He does about 99% of our banners and always seems to be up to the task. Showtime....YES

QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 05:19 PM) now 4-0 yanks lol so much for Cy Bartolo His back has really been bugging him his past couple starts. He's actually quite suspect because of it. Prior to re-injuring it a couple weeks ago, he had pretty much been unhittable.

QUOTE(RX Bandits @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) I was asking myself wheres my mute button--not where has his hair gone Compared to the Fox crew, these guys were awesome (ie Buck/McCarver) I want to actually listen to Wonder Dog instead of these dufuses (ya I botched that). Piazza was pretty solid to listen to. And I've never really minded Sutcliffe.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) If that is true, then they do one hell of a lighting job. Berman's comb-over has to rank with the worst in the history of celebrity comb-overs. Doesn't even come close to the Trump. People everywhere could try but no one can ever accomplish what Donald has done with his hair. Its amazing, I've decided he must know he's gonna get as much play as he wants since he's loaded, so why even bother with his hair. Remember, I can't stand Trump.

I just hope the Bulls get Davis back. I can't see him sticking with the Knicks considering he talked about retiring if he wasn't playing for the Bulls. Hopefully there will be some more verification on this and that indeed he'll be back with the Bulls. Without him the Bulls would lack a true center (he may not be a starter, but he can still give the Bulls quality minutes off the bench and start in a pinch). Plus he's a tremendous leader and just an all around good guy. They have definately made quite a few moves to the surrounding cast and its going to be interesting to see what they are all about. I'm also interested in seeing if Sweetney has worked hard in the off-season and I'm hoping the Bulls really push him (he's always been a little overweight, but has been said to have a really good work ethic) so hopefully they can get him in gear. He's been known to be a horrid defender when he's on the court for an extended period of time because he gets entirely gassed. He's also a bit undersized (height wise) but is a solid rebounder and scorer.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 06:44 PM) I'm doing the best I can. This just seemed to be the last resort for the guy. It was the 6th anniversary of a stroke that he had when he almost died. He'd gotten back to normal as much as could be imagined, except for a noticeable limp and some motor problems, but he seemed to be the same mentally. He apparently got into a fight with his dad and his old girlfriend, and then one day just put a gun behind his ear and pulled the trigger. I can't imagine how his mom felt when she found him in his room. Our entire grade is a support system because death seems to surround us. One of my friends and the kid's better friends growing up showed up as I left the funeral home, and said "It f***ing sucks in there, doesn't it?" I couldn't tell him any different. My buddy looked the same but at the same time he didn't, because the kid I knew was full of life, and I, along with others couldn't comtemplate him doing this. When I got there, I just stood in front of the casket, and talked to him without talking. I feel better for it now, but when someone like that dies it always eats at you. We talked to his mom and we could tell she seemed empty. Hell, the kid was a Bears fan to boot, as his obit mention his passion for "DA BEARS". I hate the Bears, but I expect them to win Sunday, just because. I'm going to the funeral tomorrow, and I'll probably feel the worst then. I never told him goodbye before going to college, cause you don't expect this. I've had three funerals before, so it's not like I'm good at handling this. I tend to remain stoic cause I want others to be comforted while I'm around, so it seems like something is right. This sort of thing tears you up, but I plan on being proactive about it, as my family and I plan to contribute to the memorial fund. I also plan on having another "talk" in the future, cause I think that's what'll help the most. I know people feign that they will committ suicide, but now I know I'll take it more seriously. Not that I didn't before, but this will eat at me for a while. Thanks for your thoughts. I just hope he went peacefully. He was an organ and tissue donor. That's the guy I know, who will go out of his way to help others, and I guess he did in the end. Rest in peace buddy, rest in peace. Alex, once again, I'm really really sorry for you and best wishes go out to you, his friends, and all his family.

Happy Bday. Hopefully everything else went well for ya today (asides from the game) and I hope the rest of the games this round don't treat ya too well either

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) That didn't happen a few years ago with Grant Hill and Tracy McGrady. Players will always be interested in coming to a team in Florida because there's no state income tax. But we'd have no room for Peja anyways with Hill and Turkloglu there already. Ben Wallace however........ Umm...check the records, that Bulls team wasn't a winner...this one is. Winning is the only reason those players weren't in Chicago. If it were this team during that off-season Tmac would of signed here immediately.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) I'll believe it when I see it. We are all well aware of Eddy's self admitted work ethic. Eddy supposedly started strapping down and working out a few weeks back and I remember reading he was in good shape. He just hasn't done any basketball playing IIRC.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) There are going to be other teams with some good cap space as well. I know Orlanod has Cato and Battie's contract coming off the books plus Doug Christie's, which equlas 20M in cap space. And then teams like the Bobcats as well. And in a weak FA class, the Bulls may get no-ine. But I'd consider them favorites for Peja right now. Umm, if the Bulls play like they did last year, they will be the best team out there with caproom and if we've learned one thing, its that players are going to jump to a team that can win as opposed to a team that can't win. If the Bulls are a piece or two away, you'll see them land those pieces. If the Bulls want a guy and Charlotte and Orlando are bidding this time around, 90% of the players (for a similar price) will be coming to Chicago.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Sam Smith just said that the Knicks are going to cut Antonio Davis right away and the Bulls will get him back (ESPN Radio. I was thinking that may just be what would happen. It would be one of those moves to make salaries even out and than the Bulls would immediately get him back (I know they really like the attitude Davis brings and he is a solid role player). If thats the case thats a great deal for the Bulls considering the circumstances.

Dodgers manager was relieved of his duties last night. Hadn't seen it anywhere else, but it wasn't really a surprise. The Dodgers really screwed him over and he'll get another job elsewhere.
-
I know I'll be leaving school after my 2nd class (gets out at 12:45) and will be heading home or to ESPN Zone to catch the game (i'll probably end up missing that class just to make sure I get enough time).

Time for me to get back to studying. Maybe it gets leaked into the press tonight, but Paxson seems to have this one sealed up pretty good (aside from announcing that it was a done deal). Surprised Isiah has yet to say anything.

Just want to say welcome aboard Hope you have fun at the game tomorrow Can't help you on the game time, I think they usually open 1:30 hours before gametime but I'm sure someone who knows will stop by and give you a more definate answer.

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) Can you link me to the BBB thread you are reading Jas? http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php...r=asc&start=120

More from that poster, makes things sound a little better. An analyst in Chicago speculated that originally a holdup was the Bulls wanted to make sure they got some draft picks out of the deal (so they presumed the Bulls will be getting a pick or 2).
-
The hole could be that the Bulls won't be getting a center in return and that because of that they'll have a hole in there starting lineup which will need replacing. That or a guy like Davis is being shipped back to New York (wouldn't make a lot of sense though). Cause I really couldn't see Pax dealing Noc, Deng or Hinrich. Those guys are all a big part of this team (obviously Chandler and Gordon are going nowhere) and Duhon just signed so he can't be dealt, IIRC.
-
So you guys are telling me that he has inside connections? We shall see...its gonna be interesting. It doesn't sound like the Bulls got ripped, buti t sounds like they gave up one of their starters or better role players. I don't want to see Deng or Noc dealt.

This is a post by someone who seems to act like he knows whats going on (no idea if he really does). I don't know if this was announced to a room somewhere but they are just waiting on league approval or something to fully release the pieces?
