On a sidenote, Bears better win early. They got a shot to easily have 8 wins by with 6 games remaining. Problem is the final 6 games are all extremely tough with possible exception to Tampa Bay. Otherwise its GB twice, Atlanta, Pittsburgh and a couple other playoff teams.

Ya, I could see them opening the year 4-0 entering Minnesota. Not that it will happen, but its more then possible.

Barons Game 4/11 @ Carolina
I know last year it was like instant. The teams would upload direclty to them and basically put in the info. The new pages are definately nicer to navigate. They'll get the kinks worked out and they are still the fastest by far in getting up the stuff (since i'm guessing it still directly comes from the team).

Sox-related Presents
QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) What's been your favorite Sox-related present you've received? Not something you bought for yourself.. My birthday was over the weekend and my coworkers made me a cake in the form of a baseball with the Sox logo and 'Go White Sox' on it. Coolest cake I've ever seen! They know me well . Last year for my bday my dad gave me plane tickets and money for tickets to see the Sox play Boston in August. I'm hoping for the same this year, but to make it up for the Dodger series. It was totally sweet.

XM RADIO
QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) XM is the stronger brand and will most likely survive. They may be in play by a bunch of other companies because they are the ones with the best shot of survival. I'd roughly estimate long term success of XM at about 75-85%, Sirius is about 50/50. They really leveraged a lot to structure Howard's contract and it will really bite them in the ass if they continue to go ad free. 11 dollars a month isnt revenue stream enough. XM isn't going anywhere. If anyone gets bought out it will be sirius. Their have been quite a few rumors about this but that all cooled down a month or two ago. XM is by far and away the more sucessful company. They have better sattelite coverage, and a hell of a lot less debt. Sirius has really thrown a lot of money around, especially in Howard Stern, banking on it paying off and its highly unlikely that it will. Sirius does have good programming though but they also don't have near the power XM does. XM is standard in quite a few automobiles while Sirius is Chrysler and possibly Ford XM is in most of the japanese car companies as well as all GM products (since GM owns it).

2005 Charlotte Knights Season Preview
2005 Charlotte Knights Season Preview By Jason Gage April 12, 2005 The Charlotte Knights are revamped for 2005 with the two best prospects in the organization a-top the roster (Brian Anderson and Brandon McCarthy). Charlotte failed to make the playoffs last season, mainly in part to injuries to their veterans that left the club in a pinch down the stretch. In fact, injuries got so bad at one point last year, that rarely did they have more than two players available in the pen. MORE

Is that the Jason Johnson whose with the Tigers? I'm assuming its a rehab start?

Spidale, Person, Yofu, Giambi
Its going to be a major shakeup. Lopez probably won't go anywhere but some cuts are going to be made. Becker was on the chop list but he probably got himself off it with his good play as of late. Diaz is another guy they will have to make room for. Some big changes will be made and I'm thinking Bham is pretty happy with their roster on the most part.

Tickets and Parking
QUOTE(giantsfankev @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 08:02 AM) Hi guys, Giants fan here, living in Chicago. Hope you guys are enjoying AJ...we don't really miss him! :-) I have two questions: Would I be better off buying tickets for Saturday's game online, or at the ballpark? Also, the website lists the parking at $17...That seems like a lot. Are there other lots nearby for less? Any help would be appreciated. Kevin If you live in Chicago I'd take the l. I also know the Sox worked out some deals where if you work in Chicago you can park at the stadium really early and take hte L in and not have to pay for parking in the city. But ya, unfortunatley parking is quite expensive. I'd say the demand could be high (but tickets will be available day of). I'd just get them on Ticketmaster and pay the fee. But if your around the stadium you might as well go that way cause you can get a better pick of the lot usually (then just picking seats online).

Eric Milton.
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 06:44 PM) Hey Jason were there ever rumors of Adrian Beltre on steroids? He seems to be the perfect candidate to have taken them, with the muscle he amassed in one offseason and the kind of year he suddenly had in a contract year. I wonder if he's lost any mass this year and if his numbers will reflect it. I also wonder if they Dodgers were worried about that at all and that factored into their not re-signing Adrian. He had an insane stat jump last year, almost .100 points gained in the average and a 25 homer 41 rbi jump, and maybe the most controversial, his slugging percentage went up over 200 points. Boy, thats alot of wondering for one night, I need to take a break. Nope, none. He's always been a pretty good size guy and is still insanely young. The only time he lost any weight was after his emergency appendectamy during like his 2nd year which damn year cost him his life and pretty much made him terrible for a full season (he played but wasn't near 100% strenght). Beltre's long been a stud waiting to happen and he'll do nothing but excel in Seattle, imo.

Pistons@ bulls.
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) Will agree to disagree. I put both of those on Hinrich. You could sense that when we went up 8 he was gettin cute out there. Fair enough. I know one thing, I'm glad this happened now so they can have this memory in the back of their mind come playoff time.

Pistons@ bulls.
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) True. But the two turovers by Hinrich kept the Pistons in the game. And it's not like he was pressured, he was gettin cute out there and it cost us. If Curry is the one he puts that ball into, you got 2 points. He had tremendous position and just didn't go after it. I'm not blaming one of those turnovers on Hinrich. It was all Davis not taking the initiative and instead waiting for the ball to hit him in his hands (he didn't even reach out for the ball).

Twins and White Not a Factor in the Central?
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) Ya, Gotay is their 2nd baseman, I personally think he's going to be a good player, he didn't really put up great numbers in the minor leagues but he's got a short and quick swing and a live bat. I think he's going to be a good player but that's jmo. He looked amazing on Sunday in Anaheim. Had 4 hits one of them a BIG TIME Bomb. Colon was shaking his head wondering who the hell he was, lol.
