I think some of them rent long term stay places, but not positive on that. Hell for all I know some of the players commute. I know PK lives in Phoenix and I bet he stays at his place.

If it helps at all, we'll be getting up some more info on the site shortly about this. Give it a couple days, maybe even by the weekend.

I'd be majorly pleased with that move, although it may piss off some members of the bullpen. Holy cripes that would give them an insanely deep pen. I doubt the Tigers do it, but if I were a team, I'd definately look into picking up Willie.

What was the question?

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) Not likely. I have to work some OT to pay off a little bar tab.. This will be the second year in a row I've missed.. But I have so much going on over the next 2 months and I'm planning a wedding for May also... Lol, I don't think I'll ever see a bar tab that big again, well at least not till next year And that minor league tour is gonna be a major blast then. North Carolina better watch out, cause it won't be the same after were all there (take note steff, for once I used the right there)

QUOTE(The Bones @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) And by Japanese Jason means Chinese. Nah, Laoecean...so are you Chinese or Japanese I just had to throw out a King of the Hill quote. I love that damn show.

Once again, just testing you all....I think my new sig should say something like "just testing your grammar".

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) I think he meant April 2nd since the Sox are not in Milwaukee March 20th either. That makes the most sense cause aren't tickets to those games like 15 bucks for anywhere pretty much. You making it out to Arizona Steff?

I finally saw Hero. Damn was that a really good movie. Highly recommend it. Some really cool martial art scenes and a pretty good story. Warning, you better be able to read if you see the movie though cause it is in subscripts. Its a Japanese movie.

Like I always say, never did I ever think this site would turn into something this big. My guess is, a couple years from now I'll be saying the same thing. Its truly an awesome community thanks to great posters

My guess is he meant March 20th.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) We are staying up in Scottdale. We are going to the Mariners vs. Sox game on Easter sunday. Peoria is a cool stadium to watch a game. I caught the sox against the padres up there last year. Last year was the first year I saw white sox spring training logo stuff up the phoenix area. Hopefully there is more this year. Ya Perioa is one of the stadiums I really like going to. Usually we head there on a Sunday cause its on our drive back to SoCal. Good food, nice atmosphere. But I think I can say that about pretty much every staidum there. HiCorbett (Rockies), Phoenix Municipal (Oaklands) and HoHoKam (Cubs) are the only facilities I don't really like. I think I dislike the Cubs facility mainly because of the fans, lol.

I've been testing this philosphy for years

Good for the Marlins. I'm curious to see how they fit him in salary wise or if they are fine as is. My guess is they'll need to move someone.
-
Hell ya I'll be going. I think this will be about my 8th year out there. Its a total blast. Not sure when I'm going but it will be within the first three weeks of spring training. I'll end up catching two Sox games and two other games while staying in the Phoenix area. If anyone hasn't been and can go, go, its probably the thing I look forward to most every year.

That Buehrle one is so badass.

Graffy flat out makes sense. He can back up at 3 positions, is familiar with the Sox, and was well liked by management. I think he really enjoyed his time in Chicago too. He wanted to be a starter, but he's best suited as a super utility guy. Adding him would be phenomenal, but I think it would also put an end to the Willie Harris era because Graffy would be getting most at bats off the bench when it came to the infield and I could see them going with Valdez as the other infielder. If the Sox deal Willie I'll be a little ticked though because I do think Willie is going to have a good career and I'd like to get something good for him.

Yahoo Fantasy Baseball sign ups!!!

I'm happy in the Keeper league. I'm going to make a thread this week and get everyone's keepers for sure and then find which team slots are opening. -
I'm looking for a .270/.340 with 15 HR's and roughly 60 RBI. I look at things from a minimum perspective and if he's starting he should be able to do this.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 01:25 PM) i dont think we will sign him this offseason but if Crede sucks again maybe next year as a stopgap until Fields is ready. I read about that 3B from Japan b4 he wants more money than Iguchi did at first. I dont' think he'd be signed to be a starter, rather as a backup plan if things dont' work out well. How much money is this guy looking for? I'm guessing he wouldn't be looking for big bucks and would have to settle for fighting for a potential backup spot? Or can he actually play all infield positions, specifically 3rd/SS/2nd? If he could then I definately see why they would bring the other guy in.
-
Hey Welcome aboard and thanks for this info. Its great getting info from people who have seen him. I have modest expectations of him, but I do think he'll come and be fundementally sound and hopefully adjust to the fastball like I recall a major league pitcher saying he'll need to do if he will suceed at the majors. I think it was Ray King who said this, but not positive.
-
Nope, he's one big son of a buck. Thats probably part of the reason he can throw 100+ when healthy but who knows what he'll be throwing after coming back from his injury. Hopefully the stuff will still be there.
-
Look for Graffy to be the final piece. I could see Graffy for one of the Sox AAA guys. Maybe a reliever like Baj could get the job done. But that would be my guess. Kenny and JR always liked him and he'd be a great asset off the bench. I do think this could be the end of Willie, but I doubt it, because regardless he's good insurance at 2nd and CF.
-
This is a really good move. And no, Iguchi shouldn't be in the 2 hole out of the gate, give the guy time to adjust to the majors without having tons of pressure on him. Kind of like the Sox gave Shingo time to adjust. It may not happen right away and I think the Sox are best sticking with Iguchi in the 9 slot and going with Uribe in the 2 hole. Then you have Rowand (a better run producer then Uribe, imo) in a run production slot. Great offseason Kenny

Fantastic move. I wake up to something like this after a 6 hour drive last night Since I can't read through this entire thread right now can someone tell me if the local media has picked this up?
