QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) Keep it on the DL, but another 110 of us are going to Iowa, again...i'll be one of em. There are also a ton of OSU tickets being bought up...place will be very orange like it was last year i would imagine. You'll be crying. It will be the only game Iowa wins the rest of the year. For some reason they tend to step it up against really good opponents while sucking against everyone else.

This is the only one for me. This damn thing takes up all my increpid computer time. Sometimes I wonder what I could accomplish if I stayed off the damn computer. I'm gonna find out this year because I started suspending myself when I have other more important things to do, lol.

Bulls vs Mavs
QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 10:52 PM) I saw that on bbb and nearly cried with laughter. The guy was serious as all hell too. I was just shaking my head. I know when he came in and first took off with the Bulls (after his early woes in his rookie year) you would hear people mentioning his name. If I recall didn't Jerry Sloan mention something like that as well? Not that he can be serious. But I'm super high on Hinrich. I also feel the team is better with Duhon starting then Gordon starting just because Gordon is a freaking turn-style defensively. That and I don't really like the way the offense is ran with Gordon in the lineup at times. I don't blame it when he's coming off the bench cause its his job to shoot like hell (he's by far the best shooter on this team), but as a starter its a bit different in the sense that he'd have to roll with the offense and I think he still kind of struggles with that, of course part of the reason is because he's such a damn good scorer. He'll learn though since it seems he has the work ethic the Bulls desire out of their players.

f***ing Hawkeyes. They are up for a good portion of the 2nd half against Wisconsin and once again blow a lead. Freaking pathetic pieces of crap. Alford can kiss his ass goodbye at the end of the season. This team, even without Pierce, has way too much talent to be floundering in Big ten play (not that it should really be a shocker since its what every Alford coached Hawkeye team does). Wisconsin had 21 more free throw attempts too, which makes it really tough. Wisconsin had a 22-4 run though after the Hawkeyes took a decent size lead. Damn it too, cause this was a win the Hawks could of really needed. Thank god we got Ferentz

Mos and Krush, just wanted to say I edited your guys argument out of this thread and put it in an admin forum. I know you two just got caught up in the heat or whatever and any further actual arguments (not debate or discussion) can be handled via aim or whever else, I don't really care.

Bulls vs Mavs
QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) He is still way to sloppy with some of his passes. Whatever what happened to the shooter he was at kansas? I don't know about you. But i am not a fan of having two starters shooting under .40 % from the field ( duhon and hinrich). Also whoever said he is a triple double threat every night in that other thread you posted is f***ing nuts. I agree with that at this point in time, but no doubt in my mind that he has the potential to be that type of ballplayer. He's a good rebounder, good passer, great defender (especially for his size) and a good shooter (percentages be damned, he's gonna be a good shooter in this league). Hinrich is legit. I woudln't call him a star, but at worse he'll be like Mike Bibby (but better defensively) and at best he could be more like John Stockton (f*** that idea, no one is gonna be like Stockton, but Hinrich is a very very smart ballplayer).

Bulls vs Mavs
Hinrich gets my first vote, with Deng 2nd, and then Chandler/Curry. I agree with Chandler and he played furocious defense today plus I love his intensity and attitude, but I also like Curry. I'd put Gordon behind them simply because he's still an awful defensive player and I don't accept that.

Farnsworth to Tigers
QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) True about the good year, bad year history for Farnsworthless. BUT: He's never switched leagues before. A whole new crop of players to try to learn about. Plus, he's retarded. That makes learning new things difficult for him. He's already 29 years old, and inconsistent as hell. It could work out for the Tiggs, but it's just YET ANOTHER gamble for them. Technically speaking, him joining a new league tends to be more adventageous for a pitcher, while it can be detrimental to a hitter. So I'd say switching leagues will actually benefit Farnie. However I also think the AL Central is a very good fastball hitting division. I know the Sox tend to be a good fastball hitting team.

Bulls Vs Rockets Thread
Mutumbo came in and the Bulls absolutely took a dive. Luckily HInrich carried them back to 8 to close out the half. I think they still got a shot, call me crazy, simply because the Bulls couldn't of played worse and they are still in this game. Plus the Rockets played very very very well. One thing I'm concerned about is that the Bulls may get tired considering they just played a tiring game against the Mavs. Luckily the travel time in these back to backs isn't much anything.

American Dad over Arrested Development?!?!?
Actually, when you look at it I'd say Fox is making a pretty good decision. They are actually putting AD in a slot where it will get every chance possible. It will be behind Simpsons and before Family Guy which is probably the best slot a new show could get. People are gonna definately be watching Family Guy and New episodes of the Simpsons is still new episodes of the Simpsons so its in a spot where it could succeed. As far as AD goes, I just never really got into it. I'm assuming they'll move it around a bit and see if it catches but it did have a pretty good slot, imo.

Bulls Vs Rockets Thread
I don't think so just because Cleveland is winning right now and playing really good basketball. Right now, as of today, Ilk is the better center. A year from now that may not be the case and I think two or three years from now it definately won't be the case, but its not like Ilk is too old and is coming to retirement so I really think the Cavs would pass on that type of deal, unless of course James doesn't like Ilk or something along those lines. I also think you can't look past the fact that curry is the worse rebounding center in the league and that probably ticks the hell out of Skiles. Luckily Deng is a good rebounder and AD/Chandler are both very good rebounders (overall the Bulls are a good rebounding team) because if not I don't know if they'd be as kind to Curry. Defensively Eddy has majorly improved this season though.

Farnsworth to Tigers
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) If history tells us anything, this move scares the hell out of me for a Sox fan. This guy has been awesome the past two years that have ended in an odd number(2001 - 4-6 2.74 ERA 1.15 WHIP K/9 of about 11.75, K/BB of about 3.7; 2003 - 3-2 3.30 ERA 1.17 WHIP K/9 of 10.85, K/BB of 2.5). The fact that they apparently got him for nothings is better for them. And if it allows the Cubs to get Dotel, that is an even better move for the Cubs. No matter what Dotel does as a closer, they will have both LaTroy and Dotel, and both are great setup men, bad closers, meaning one will set up, one will close...maybe they'll get lucky and the one that closes will be good. And again, that would be another good move by Beane. Their pen is pretty damn deep with the recent moves they have made, so he is dealing from a position of strength. If he can get a good package of players for Dotel, that is great for them. I do think the team that comes out the worst in this is the Cubs. They are actually going to have to give up good players, are taking on money, and are only 'guaranteed'(I quote that because nothing is a guarantee, but this is as close to one as you can get in baseball) a good setup man. This move fits exactly what Detroit is doing, because they will either be a team that clicks for like 2 months and just gets on fire and plays .700 ball and starts to run away with the division, or they will be trading at the deadline. And I've basically explained my reasoning for the A's...dealing from strength. Good analysis, but I think regardless the Tigers will be holding onto there players at the end of the season. They are trying to build this team for the longer haul and showing the fans of Detroit that they care about winning. I don't know if Detroit has the pitching yet, but they definately have a talented lineup and you gotta like Bonderman and Maroth, but in the end I think there too weak in the starting pitching department. However, you gotta like a pen with Urbina, Percy, and Farnsworth. I still think Urbina gets dealt by the start of the season, but as of now thats a nice looking back end of the pen.

Farnsworth to Tigers
Hendry is really doing a brutal job. Talent wise the Tigers made the best of this deal, however, there is one thing to look at and thats the fact that Farnsworth was allegedly one of the rotten apples in the Cubs clubhouse, along with Sosa. However, I really think Hendry is one of the most overrated GM's in baseball right now. When he first stepped onto the scene he made some good moves, but lately, I really don't know what the hell he's doing.

Technically that deal wouldn't work due to salary ramifications. But Ilkauskas is a pretty damn good center. I think Eddy will turn into a dominate center over the years though. However, I think both teams are pretty happy with there respected players at this time. The only reason Cleveland would drop Ilg is due to his contract, not the way he plays though, imo.

Bears Offseason
Plus franchising him just means he gets paid like the average of the 5 best kickers or whatever and thats not a big deal whatsoever salary wise. As far as the Bears go, look for them to sign WR Travis Taylor relatively quickly.

Bulls Vs Rockets Thread
Just your friendly moderator reminder to debate the facts and not attack one another On a sidenote, my opinion is Z is the better center right now, however, given the choice and considering contracts and such I'd rather have Eddy Curry over the long haul. As long as he stays with the Bulls I really think he's gonna come close to his potential, especially with Skiles and Paxson pushing him.

Chow takes Titans job
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) Did he actually say that? I thought he said it would have "changed his thought process" or something to that effect. There is a difference there...correct me if i'm wrong, i may not have heard everything. He's pissed because he didn't get the Stanford job. He figured for sure he was gonna get that job or Washingtons and now he had to look at another way of fullfilling his career. I think his goal is to coach a year or two in NFL at an OC level, because it is a step up from being an OC at the collegiate rank and then rejoining the college ranks as a head coach. This is obviously a bit riskier but I'm sure he felt as if nothing was happening because this was the 2nd straight year where he was one of the top collegiate coordinators and still failed to get a head coaching gig.
