Don't be too sure of that Tex...some information can come up on this site or WSI that they may not be aware of, most specifically I'm relating to the minor league info. However, there is a lot of other stuff that comes up. They can get a lot of takes and ideas or just perspective of how the fans feel prior to writing an article. They can definately get ideas too.

Ya wite, Thurston was the reason the Dodgers dealt Grudz to the Cubs a few years back. Unfortunately Thurston didn't excel like the Dodgers expected that year, but he has proved himself in AAA and has very good speed. Solid 2nd base prospect if you ask me and at worse is a good depth move for the minors. However, I don't see the Sox giving up Davis after they just designated Burke for assignment. I guess they didn't have time to work out a deal instead of designating Burke but they definately took a shot. Personally I'd just as well have Burke backing up but the Sox will be in trouble if Pyrz gets hurt, and they don't have Davis.

Mike, if for some reason there is some limit (which I doubt) I'll help pick em up for the people too.

News media stops by, some in the organization, players, but I highly doubt Kenny does.

This doesn't make much sense considering the Sox have Burke off the 40 right now. They'd of never risked that had they been considering dealing Ben. My guess is that its unlikely, but if Depodesta gives up a potential prospect then you may see it happen. Also if it gives Kenny the whiggle room he wants to bring in another infielder then I oculd see it happening. I'm going to throw out the name Joey Thurston.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jan 12, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) Have you ever actually done it and jumped from a moving vehicle? I'm no shrink but maybe your compulsion is based on curiousity and would cure itself if you tried it. As for alarm clocks, I like to set the clock I use to wake me up about 5 minutes fast. This sounds silly since I know it's fast, but in the early hours of the morning, it sometimes doesn't register when I first glance at the clock. I can't really say I've accomplished much in my extra five minutes per day yet, although I'm thinking about writing a book (very slowly). I waive the site of all damages created from Donkey's advice But cheat, if you do get the urge, please film it

Whose to say they'd even detect these things if they are looking heavily for them. From the way it sounded the stuff he was using at Balco was 99.9% undetectable. You'd basically have to know exactly what you were looking for to find it. Regardless I'm like qwerty and think he'll have another huge year, unless he gets hurt or something.

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jan 12, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) I'm more interested in the Q&A sessions and stuff like that than the autographs to tell you the truth. I'm in the same boat. I'm not much of an autograph guy, but I'll probably bring a few baseballs along.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) Yes...Kansas is gonna be undefeated and #2 when they come into Ames. The same Iowa State team that lost to NIU this year :sleep -
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) It's quite simple...your on the team. He said it, not me Alex.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) It really sucks that the bears wasted their second round pick on Tank last year -- I think that Jonathan babineaux could end up being a steal in the DT spot. Babineaux definately has a real good initial burst. Made great strides since shifting positions.

Personally I think the media is completely blowing that incident out of proportion. If they want to talk about Moss, talk about him walking off the field the week before with 2 seconds left against the Redskins. Don't talk about him celebratin after two touchdown dances. I also love how the media fails to mention a Packer tradition in which many of the fans moon the bus as it leaves lambeu following a Packer victory. Moss was just giving a little back and its not like he mooned him. Personally I thought it was actually one of the few times I had some respect for Moss, who while amazingly talented is an assclown, but this past playoff game isn't the reason he's an assclown, imo.

I don't know if you can buy them in advance or not, for some reason I think it can only be a couple days in advance or something along those lines. But you can get the deal either online or at the box office if I recall. Of course someone will quickly post exact details.

I don't use the ignore feature and never will use the ignore feature. That being said its a great feature for those people that just can't get along with a particular poster.

Was I one of the only people who really enjoyed the first two remakes? The first one was a little slower then the original star wars but it kind of had to set the story. I really liked the 2nd but the 3rd one is going to be quite dark and should be absolutely fantastic.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) I know most on this board would probably be in total disagreement with me, but if Kenny got a package of (just using an example) Byrnes, Dotel, and a highly-rated prospect, I'd definitely pull the trigger. Rowand is a solid player, but if some team would have been willing to really, really overpay for him, I'd definitely pull the trigger... Ya, thats the only deal I'd do with the A's and I doubt they would pull the trigger, but I like dotel and once again I like the idea of a strong bullpen and that would definately give the Sox that. But at the same time I like Rowand a ton and think were really just a starting 2nd baseman or shortstop away from having a FANTASTIC offseason.

QUOTE(quickman @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) Well, this year it seems alot of teams are interested in rowand. Understandably. That stated and the fact the Sox hate arbitration and don't like to continue to arbitrate two years in a row, tells me that they could consider trading him. Its not a great situation but if they could get bynes, they could indeed trade arrow away for the pitcher or 2b they want. Who knows its total specuation. I believe I sense that KW is not done. It would be interesting if they acquired Byrnes and Octavio Dotel and were then able to deal Marte or another reliever for a middle infielder. I'd definately agree with that. But I think we both realize its quite unlikely, but with Kenny anything is possible (I mean that in a good way cause I truly think he's always open to finding new ways to make the team better and I love that, although its not panned out thus far I really think it will this year).

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) well next year he should start for the Barons and thats where we find out if he is the real deal... put up good power numbers there and your good enuf to me regardless if he is 24 or 25 or 26... late bloomers are ok with me they have more respect for the game when they get there chance. Thats the dillema. Obviously ROgo will be in Bham, but he may be playing outfield now or at least there is a good shot at that. Still I wonder how many at bats he'll get. I'm guessing he'll be nothing more then roster fodder for the minors, but you never know.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) 10-9 at home. Damn Bulls announcers for saying 6-5...BOO, lol. By the way, I gotta give Harrington credit. I've b****ed plenty about him but he's stepping up when they really need it.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) Iguchi excites me, but KW and his agent are so far apart in negotiations, so I'm not optimistic. I think its all negotiating tactics by both sides. Iguchi will be playing with the Sox or he'll be playing in Japan.

QUOTE(quickman @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) As i have speculated earlier in thread it could mean that the sox would trade Rowand. It seems they are at an impasse with his contract right now, and many teams like him. I am not saying I like it or saying it will happen. If they did sign byrnes, it reopens that door, for a garland and rowand trade to the D back for vasquez. For whatever reason KW is fixated on that guy. I am sure it won't happen. Whats the update on rowands contract? this is why it could happen. I'm guessing they will go to arb or get closer. Although they may of passed some deadline, but I doubt it. I only think that deadline applies to unrestricted free agents not free agents. Worse case the Sox will sign him to a one year deal now and then continue to work out an extension over the offseason.

Plus I really think Kenny loves Arow. YOu never know though, but if they deal Arow they better be getting one hell of a ballplayer in return.
