QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) it should have been a series of short films, but i thought it was hilarious... on the other hand i can't disagree with people who say it was terrible... it was certainly no life aquatic. It was originally just a short film series type thing some college students did. The main actor is like a business major and he did the acting for his buddies as like some college project if I remember. Everytime I watch it, the funnier it gets. I'm still wetting for NetFlix to send it to me so I can burn it.
  2. QUOTE(credescrew24 @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) does anyone know if the spring trainning games covered on Comcast Chicago will be included in the xtra innings package or would u have to have that channel as well ...cause by having the regular channel it cuts off during the game time if u dont have xtra innings during the regular season.... I dont' think xtra innings starts till opening day. I know XM will televise the spring training games but I think thats the only way for us out of towners.
  3. America West or Southwest would be the cheapest most likely. America West's hub is Phoenix area so a lot of times they have some deals. If your lucky you should be able to find something for 180-200 roundtrip, but depending on whether the flights or full it may be a little more expensive.

QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) He told her to put some clothes on.. she puts the veil over her eyes in burqua style. He tells her to get him a beer, but she can't see cuz of the burqua over her eyes. She gets up,trips on the footstool, and...out the window she goes. Now thats an explanation
  5. QUOTE(Mr. Zero @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) Hell yeah it was. The Donkey Kong part had me laughing my ass off. Ya, I fell out of the couch on that scene. It was hillarious. I'd say its the best Simpson episode in the past few years hands down.

I liked it. Some flat parts but the terrorist references were great. My favorite had to be the line about his daughter shaving her armpits and how if the terrorist win that will be the first thing to go. Then when they show Iraq with Ikea furniture and the husband is yelling at his women to get dressed and she runs out the window. Warning, I explain things horribly.
  7. I liked the careerbuilder.com commercials with the monkey's. Those had everyone rolling. There were a couple other good ones, but few and far between. Still way better then last years. What was even better was that the Simpsons was actually funny this week.
  8. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) Evansville Didn't Andy Benes go there? They also had a pretty high pick a year or two back but forget who he was.
  9. QUOTE(farmteam @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) I would really prefer not draft a reliever in the first round. I doubt he'll be there at 15, unless he has a bad spring, but the guy I want is Jeff Clement, a Catcher out SC (that's either Southern Cal or South Carolina, can't remember which...USC, I think). I'd like to get another catcher in the system. If not that, an SS or an SP. In BA, they had us taking a high school SS, can't remember his name though. Bristow, I think. Clement is from Southern Cal. Really good catching prospect who kind of suffers from the same mold as Landon Powell. I think he'll be a high pick but he's a guy that could be a good value pick in the 2nd or 3rd round. I'm a Clement fan though, probably wouldn't take him in the first round though, but there is a whole season of baseball ahead of us.
  10. It seems it was more of a mental issue then it was a physical one. He's supposed to be 100% so the only thing left is to see him pitch and see if he's feeling any pain and if his velocity is back. My thinking is he's done as a prospect, but I could be wrong. I'm probably the harshest poster on the site when it comes to talking about Honel.
  11. Whats everyone doing for the big game? For me its brats and burgers on the grill, nachos, and brownies and of course beer.

    QUOTE(Mr. Zero @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) I'm giving up urinating. I'll tell you all how I'm doing in a week.
  14. Hell the rest of the big 10 is garbage next to the Illini. So come tourney time I'll definately be pulling for the Illini cause right now it looks liek they are the only ones that can make the big 10 look respectable. MSU, Wisc, Iowa, Minn, Michigan are all mediocre in my book with MSU being the best of the bunch. I happen to think MSU, Wisc, and Iowa have the talent to make some noise, but the Illini are freaking legit.
  15. These are freaking hillarious. Great find cheat.
  16. Pats 27 Eagles 24 I think its going to be a good game, and definately a fun one to watch.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) speaking of Weaver if he doesnt sign this year how late will he go in this up coming draft? He should still go top 15. The only question in regards to him will be how much longer will he take and is he still in good shape. Weaver is gonna be a good pitcher, not Prior good, but he's going to be good. He'll be a great selection for anyteam, imo. The reason he'll fall will be because of his signing demands. Hell he could even get grabbed earlier if no other guys really elevate there games.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxmatt @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) Im excited for the start of college baseball. im going to the college world series too. Sweet, I always here that its one of the funnest events in sports to go to. Hopefully you'll get to see my schools team play there again. It would be the first time they'd made it 3 years in a row.
  19. One team to really look out for in my opinion is Long Beach State. I think they are really going to shoot up in the polls over the season because they have a pretty damn good looking pitching staff despite losing Weaver. In fact, had they not lost Weaver, I'd say they would have the best pitching staff in the country. Plus they got Jared Hughes who was a highly rated high school prospect (he was a 16th round pick, and originally committed to Santa Clara). Has a hell of a fastball though.
  20. Forgot to make this thread on Friday, but the season has started for most teams. My Titans beat Stanford on Friday and then again on Saturday to win the series and will go for the sweep today at 1. There offense struggled both games, but so did Stanfords and Fullerton was able to do the little things to pull the game out. To be honest I didn't see much talent on the field in either game, minus Ricky Romero the Titans #1 starter. However, part of that reason is probably due to the fact its the beginning of the season and well it wasn't what I would classify as a pretty game.
  21. If the Sox draft a reliever early, they better make sure he has a power arm because while I'm not a guy thats huge on the radar gun, I do think power relievers have a little greater chance of sucess, especially cause they can come in and strike guys out with runners on base.

I hear XM has more satellites up so you get a little stronger signal, don't know how true it is. Personally I think the music is awful on XM, but thats just me. Only thing it has going for it is Major League Baseball, imo. Also the big ten sports channel is really cool cause it means I can listen to Iowa basketball games, but I just cancelled my subscription and returned my unit. Screw it, I'll just make sure to dvr the games and watch em at some point each day.

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) Watched The Grudge and AVP tonight.. Jason.. I think it was you that told me AVP was great.. and it was. I was glued to the tv. The Grudge, IMO, sucked. Ya, Nuke brought it up and I agreed with him on AVP.
  24. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) I gotta see if Boras will come represent me when I talk to my boss for a raise... Seriously, this shows me enough. If anyone ever doubted it, there is no doubt anymore, Boras is the best freaking agent in all of sports. He could represent me anytime. How the hell did he get Maggs 15 mill a year, I'll never now, but good god he did the job. Maggs should be excited as hell. Obviously he should of still taken the Sox deal (cause they are a better team then the Tigers) but this is definately a quality backup plan.
  25. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 11:26 AM) Cubs Rotation: >Kerry Wood - Overrated, living off his rookie year and 20 SO game VS Astros. >Mark Prior - Phenominal talent but had injury problems last season, but no means is he a guarantee. >Carlos Zambrono - Currently best pitcher on staff, has to get better away from home and control his emotions >Greg Maddux - Getting old, still has some in the tank but showed that he is starting to break down at times last year. >Glendon Rusch - Fluke last year, has to prove that he is a legitiment starter and not revert back to 1 and 12 with a 6.42 era like he had a year ago with milwaukee. Just a little analysis straight from my brain to your computer screen b****es. I still wouldn't have a problem taking there rotation. Cause if that team can get into the playoffs, it won't take much other then some good defense (which they won't get) and some situational hitting (don't really think they are built this way either). Hendry has had a godawful offseason, but at the same team any team with that front four (rotation wise) has a shot, but I don't see them beating the Cards and well I think the wild card comes out of the East this year. I don't think Houston or the Cubs will be threats this year.
