Davis isn't going to be the Sox starter or at least I hope not, cause if it is it means PYrz is really sucking or injured.

Ya, but I'm willing to guess in the hot chick ratio department, Fullerton ranks up with the SEC schools However I will say this, Fullerton can't touch them in that department in regards to football games

Guys I'm going to say this once. If anyone thinks this is an issue dealing with the word gay your 100% wrong. If anyone thinks wino is involved in this your wrong. The point was there was a sig that was a 100% attack and bash on someones character and that is not tolerated. Yes, it was removed, but it was just one of a long line of attacks on that users list. This site has had umteen discussions on being gay and I don't care if you think being gay is right or wrong or are indifferent on the subject. The fact is someone bashing someone for being gay won't be tolerated, not one bit. It be like bashing someone for there religion or color. Thats it. Lets not debate the persons characters. And for anyone thinking that you get banned for knocking the mods/admins your dead wrong. How much stuff gets discussed here and sometimes people disagree with us, I've never had a problem with that. I prefer for it via PM's because its a more private discussion that doesn't create this disruption persay but everything gets listened to and talked about and things sometimes change. I'm sorry, I just don't feel the need to explain every action done out in public. Its not polite to that person thats involved in it. Have we ever made mistakes sure, but who hasn't, overall this board is ran damn well and were always open on advice on ways to improve it, but please just send a PM or an email.

No, although during big games it gets pretty loud. Its open air and a smaller stadium so imo no college baseball game will rival a college football game at say the big house or a college basketball game at Illinois or any of the other tough places to play.

I doubt Rollins would go for cheap. However, maybe the Phils feel Polanco can play ss for them and they can then move Rollins and get something of value. I have no idea of their needs, but I bet they'd be interested in Cotts or Marte. I don't know if I'd deal Marte or not though, because I like the pen being a strenght. However even if Marte is dealt I still think the pen is better this year than last year. But I'd say Cotts could be a possibility and you'd figure maybe Willie Harris. Minor leaguers would probably exclude Bmac, Anderson, and Sweeney however you could see Tracey as a guy. The question is would the Phils want major league players or minor league guys. If its a payroll dump maybe its more minor league guys.

Nope, Ahole in my book. I hate the Manning family. I hope Eli and Peyton never win a superbowl and that Peyton somehow catches a case of the "Sucks".
-
I hate Peyton Manning with a passion, but wow is he looking good today. Freaking Broncos have no shot in this one anymore. I was hoping they could somehow pull the upset but there only shot went away when that 3rd down catch was overruled. I fully disagree with the overturning too. It was a catch and instead the Colts immediately got the ball back and moved down field. Regardless Colts would of probably still whooped there asses.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 04:00 AM) So how many people do they draw for a game? I think their record attendance is around 3000. Any given night I'd say between 1000-2000. They should have a huge turnout for the opening weekend Stanford series. I know I'm going to at least two of the games.

Rented Shaolin Soccer. Very funny movie. Its like an asian kunf foo spoof or something. I don't know how to explain it, but we were all laughing while watching it.

Its not a mozilla issue its an issue with ESPN.com. However, that said I was able to get it work last night when talking with qwerty.

QUOTE(farmteam @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) College Baseball is fun stuff. Too bad it's almost impossible for Big 10 teams to go to Omaha. Did anyone see the article in the last BA about the Big 10? It was good stuff. My favorite non-Big 10 team is CS Fullerton. Is that where you're at, Jason? Yep...its a blast getting to go to the games for free as a student. You can basically sit anywhere but the season ticket spots. And there are always seats open behind home.

Your First Place San Diego Chargers!

QUOTE(Winning Ugly @ Nov 29, 2004 -> 10:16 AM) Brees, Gates and company looking like a baby-version of the Colts offense. The NFL is sleeping on them big time. Freaking Chargers....Taking a Dump when it mattered. -
Toast in my book. Its all between the ears too. On a sidenote the Bears signed Nick Setta and sent him to NFLE. I always thought he had a great leg and could turn into a good NFL kicker.

Good hire, next will be a new line coach.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) Durham's a lock to miss some games though. And Iguchi has hit over .330 in his last 2 seasons in a pitcher's park. It's more of a risk, but I think the potential reward of Iguchi would outweigh Durham, but that's just me. If the Sox handle things right though, they will be able to spell Ray with a platoon guy and that should be alright. Personally I think its a great move as long as they don't give up Marte. I think thats probably a little too much, unless they get something else in return that could help them out of the pen. But budget wise, they could basically afford to add Durham's entire contract but no way in hell would I give up Marte for him and take on that big contract. On a sidenote, Durham is under contract at roughly 6.5 this year and the following year is an option year.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) As far as who we could trade back, I would say it's safe to assume the Giants won't pay us anything. They're in no position to be sending cash in deals. So the Sox would have to deal some cash back to fit Ray in our payroll situation. Ray makes 6.5 million in 2005, Figure we have 2-3 million left to spend ourselves and we have to deal 3-3.5 million off the roster. Prospects are out since the Giants don't want them. They're outfield is set, so I can't see Carl going. Sox are no position to deal Garland unless they have a Vazquez deal on the table, or something way the hell out of left field. I'm stumped here.... Willie and a prospect would be my guess. I hope not Marte but I think the Giants would ask for him. However, I think it was rather documented that Ozzie was never all that pleased with Marte. But if the Sox deal Marte they better get another reliever. I don't want to see them weaken the bullpen. I do really want Ray Ray here though. Here is a question though, would it be less of a loss if they then picked up someone like Rob Nenn.

QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 03:58 PM) Has their been any reports in Chicago about Ray coming back to Chicago... Here in San Fran they think the deal will go through. One of the host on KNBR thinks that the Giants wants Damaso Marte in return Jesus, I sure as hell hope not.

From Rotoworld: Robb Nen - R - SF Free agent Robb Nen (shoulder) recently threw off the mound back-to-back days without discomfort. We suppose that's a good sign. The Rockies are trying to sign Nen and give him a chance to compete for the closer's role. However, Nen may wait until next month before making any decisions. Jan. 8 - 2:17 pm et Source: Denver Post Maybe he's worth re-signing for a minor league deal?
-
I could see Chandler still potentially on the block but Curry ain't going anywhere.
-
I'm holding off till Fest, because by then the Sox will have made their final move.
-
Hell, on top of that he scored 95 runs in just 120 games.

First off, no one is going to convince me that Polanco is better than a healthy Ray Durham. Secondly, if the Giants pick up 3 mill each year of the deal then its a fantastic move for the White Sox. Even 2.5 mill each year. The Giants just want to clear up a little payroll and I Don't think its as much about who they get as it is getting his contract off the books cause they added quite a bit in payroll this year. So I'm guessing one of Diaz, Munoz could do it. Some may gripe about that, but not me. Durham gives the Sox a very fast top of the order, but he's also a good OBP guy and still solid defensively. However, if he's picked up, then it becomes obvious someone has to come in to be a backup middle infielder (guy that can play both ss and 2nd). If they are spending that extra money it may just be Wilson Valdez. But Ray is a career .279/.354/.789 OPS; Thats coming from a 2nd baseman. There is no reason not to be excited over the possibility of bringing him back, especially if its the Sox mainly adding payroll and not giving up a stud level prospect (ie Bmac, Tracey, Anderson, Sweeney). In fact last year he hit .289 with 17 HR's (in 120 games) with a .364 OBP, and a .848 OPS Hell just to throw it out there if the Sox wanted Rowand in the 2 hole they could put Durham in the 3 hole. But Durham/Spod or vice versa is a damn improvement over the previous top of the order in my opinion. Get Ray here. Man I'd fall over in excitement if true. I doubt it though because of the payroll implications. My understanding was Ray always liked Chicago but I thought he was a little upset when he got dealt. Maybe those feelings are past him now. I think Ozzie be pretty familiar with him too.

QUOTE(Confederate_48 @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) I just read an article on another board that makes it seem like he would actually pick Chicago over Baltimore Ya, it appears Chicago is his first choice, but you never know. They offered him a 3yr 500K deal which seems like a very fair offer.
-
By the way Ishould say the Trib is saying otherwise and that he'll be the OC by the end of the day.
-
As long as the Bears have a fair offer on the table, he's going to be in Chicago.
