Juan Uribe: What's his status
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) Steff or Mike from SoxFest also mentioned that Everett was in very good shape, so we've got nothing much to worry about on both counts which is good to see. Everett was in fabulous shape.

Sirus and XM in merger talks?
QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) Sirius is probably more recommended "buy" than XMSR right now because they have contracts with Ford, Chrysler, and Howard Stern. Earnings-wise, neither of these companies perform very well and are risky at best. At the same time XM works with Nissan, Honda (and Acura), and all of GM's offerings.

You puff.. yer out!
There will definately be a lawsuit over this.

a team physical
I'm guessing its a relatively minor physical. They probably do MRI and take a look at the players past reports and just make sure they are healthy. I'm guessing its rather non-evasive and the big thing occurs with players that have had health issues, mainly pitchers.

National Compliment Day
Jeckle is a good poster plus he likes Wee Willie and Arow, which is a major plus!!!!

Spring training info thread
I dunno Jim, I love the Phoenix area. But it doesn't mean Tuscon is boring, I just don't know the places to go. We always stay in Phoenix and its a total blast but I guess it all depends. Either way I'll make it up for Tuscon for one game and its about an hour and a half drive. I think the big reason we like Phoenix is that its an hour and a half shorter drive back home mixed with the fact we have easy access to a ton of stadiums.

Donnie Sadler
Salder was signed last season to play in AAA. The guy played like one or two games and was on the roster, but got injured right away and was absolutely useless for the Knights. He was on the active roster for a while and didn't play banged up despite Charlotte's drastic need for bodies (they were horribly handcuffed late last season with injuries) and most of the time they only had like 3 or 4 guys off the bench and that includes position players and the bullpen. If I recall he was released at some point last season with the Knights, but regardless he won't be back this year.

Just read the article I wrote, but Burke and Ozuna/Wilson Valdez are the only guys that have a shot at breaking camp, unless of course a couple injuries pop up.

NHL Lockout over?
QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 07:31 AM) Panthers Thrashers Coyotes Sabres Penguins Blues Mighty Ducks these are the teams that should go.... heh...kidding about the Blues.....sort of..... I don't think the Ducks are going anywhere. They have struggled with attendance the past 2 years or so, but prior to that they were sellout machines and if they can draw in the area. Hell there was a crazy buzz about them during that playoff run and ticket sales were strong at the start of last year but then they fell flat on there faces.

I've been working on an article on FS about this. Its pretty bad though as I've been out of the writers groove, but here's a link. http://www.futuresox.com/phpnuke/modules.p...order=0&thold=0

Sirus and XM in merger talks?
That would be really cool cause then people could get NBA, MLB, and NFL games on Satellite Radio. Of course they could raise prices due to a lack of competition following the merger.

Spring training info thread
I think some of them rent long term stay places, but not positive on that. Hell for all I know some of the players commute. I know PK lives in Phoenix and I bet he stays at his place.

9/13 game plans
If it helps at all, we'll be getting up some more info on the site shortly about this. Give it a couple days, maybe even by the weekend.

Did Anyone here
I'd be majorly pleased with that move, although it may piss off some members of the bullpen. Holy cripes that would give them an insanely deep pen. I doubt the Tigers do it, but if I were a team, I'd definately look into picking up Willie.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) Not likely. I have to work some OT to pay off a little bar tab.. This will be the second year in a row I've missed.. But I have so much going on over the next 2 months and I'm planning a wedding for May also... Lol, I don't think I'll ever see a bar tab that big again, well at least not till next year And that minor league tour is gonna be a major blast then. North Carolina better watch out, cause it won't be the same after were all there (take note steff, for once I used the right there)

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) I think he meant April 2nd since the Sox are not in Milwaukee March 20th either. That makes the most sense cause aren't tickets to those games like 15 bucks for anywhere pretty much. You making it out to Arizona Steff?

I finally saw Hero. Damn was that a really good movie. Highly recommend it. Some really cool martial art scenes and a pretty good story. Warning, you better be able to read if you see the movie though cause it is in subscripts. Its a Japanese movie.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) We are staying up in Scottdale. We are going to the Mariners vs. Sox game on Easter sunday. Peoria is a cool stadium to watch a game. I caught the sox against the padres up there last year. Last year was the first year I saw white sox spring training logo stuff up the phoenix area. Hopefully there is more this year. Ya Perioa is one of the stadiums I really like going to. Usually we head there on a Sunday cause its on our drive back to SoCal. Good food, nice atmosphere. But I think I can say that about pretty much every staidum there. HiCorbett (Rockies), Phoenix Municipal (Oaklands) and HoHoKam (Cubs) are the only facilities I don't really like. I think I dislike the Cubs facility mainly because of the fans, lol.
