Tracey = Stud prospect by next year in my book. This guy progressed tremendously over the past season and throws a power fastball and slider iirc. I have it in my notes somewhere but not 100% the slider aspect. Also worked on adding the change to his repetoire. He's not afraid to pitch inside and has what I'd deem a rubber arm at this point. The guys a horse and if he develops like I think he will, him and Bmac will be 1/2 pitcher wise in this organization and both have front of the rotation stuff (1-3 spots). In regards to Pollock, he's an agressive guy. Solid closer, questionable major league prospect at this point. Has a good arm but doesn't top the gun. Slider is nice. I think he'll do quite well in Bham and my guess is they are interested in using him as the closer or at the very least a setup role?

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 23, 2005 -> 11:31 AM) im not a minor league expert but in my opinion i see spidale, Borchard, and escobar at AAA and than Sweeney, Anderson, and Rogo at AA. Personally I'd keep Anderson in AA for a little longer, basically the similar path that I'd like to see BMAC on. I think both could use some more seasoning before making the jump to Charlotte, plus I figure why rush them when I don't expect either to be bolstered into major league roles this season so the best thing to do is prepare them and to me letting them get some more time in AA would be wise. I think Anderson would fall pretty flat in AAA and Bmac may hold his own, but to move him to a hitters park like Charlotte this quick just wouldn't be wise.

He will start in A ball or that would be my guess. I'm thinking he'll start throwing sometime during spring, maybe get in some practice games but my guess is he breaks camp and stays in extended spring training for a couple weeks as the Sox are going to be very careful with his arm. As far as his future goes, he has a chance to be an AWESOME closer, but it depends on his health just as much as it depends on his head and the chances of both working out may not be too likely, but if it does, the guy will be VERY VERY SPECIAL.

Unofficial NIT Hot Chick Contest

Cool idea Rex. If there is anything I can do pinning stuff or whtaever just tell me. -
Your attachment area is probably full. Your allowed like 10 MB, so go in and delete all that stuff in your control panel and then you'll be able to attach things again no problem.

Soxtalk.com has promoted former Testing Board and How Does it Work mod Gashwound, to a position of "modship" at the Sports Bar. Gash, or called Gashie by Heather Lee and unfortunately myself (LOL) has been a hell of a poster and always treats other posters with respect. So Gashie

Come on Bulls, start a new winning streak tonight

Well I thought this deserved the honor to being moved over and pinned for a couple days for those wanting a new Sox wallpaper. Goldie did a badass job on this one.

Those are some really cool pictures.

Just gonna add my two cents. C - My guess is they go with a veteran 1B - Hinton 2nd - Lopez/Gonzo SS - Gonzo/Lopez 3rd - Fields LF - Rogo CF - Anderson RF - Sweeney DH/Utility - Thomas Brice (He'll probably get quite a bit of field time as well) Rotation Bmac Tracey Heath Phillips Not going to garner who the other starters are but Meaux, or Bull could potentially fit in there although hopefully they make it to Charlotte. You could also see Lumsden get pushed, but I'd like to see him get more time in A ball. Bullpen will probably have Matt Smith as one of the anchors. Once again its a tough call because most likely the guys that juts miss Charlotte's squad will slide in and fit in as pretty good relievers with the Barons. I think the Barons will have a fun team to watch.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) I actually was thinking during the game "s***, somewhere jason's yelling at his TV 'i told you kenny!'" -
Bull...its great hearing your insite on Bmac. Heck, who knows more about pitchers then other pitchers. Were all pulling for ya to make Charlotte this season and who knows, maybe a September callup could be in order On a sidenote, you looking forward to potentially re-joining the rotation?

Hinton was acquired by the White Sox earlier this season as the PTBNL in the Carlos Lee for Luis Vizcaino and Scott Posednik deal. He has only played as high as A ball but looked to be a legit hitter (statistically) last season. He strikes out more then you would like and is brutal defensively. However, the only reason he was stuck in A ball is due to the depth the Brewers have at first base in the minors, more specifically Prince Fielder. I don't know if the guy will be a major leaguer, but if Hinton is going to be getting a lot of AB's in Bham.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) holy. s***. my nuts were in my throat that whole 2nd half and OT W, move on. What a horrid shooting night, wow. But we need to learn how to win like that. And greasy, the .7 seconds thing was YOUR OWN TIMEKEEPERS FAULT. not the refs. PROPS TO LUTHER HEAD You know you were sweating it out thinking I may of just been right. Hell, I hate being proud of a loss, but playing Illi like the Hawks did I gotta be happy. s*** though, when its that close you just really wish they could of pulled off the upset. -
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) You guys need to run if I ever show up as a bag checker. 33% with 7 false alarms. Lol, I had 8 False Alarms. I would just guess. When you think about it, we were pretty pathetic when you mix in the fact that we pretty much said something for most bags, lol.

Good info Hi8. I do think Bmac has better then just average stuff, but in comparison he doesn't have one pitch that truly sticks out where you go WOW. What he does is have three good pitches that he can pinpoint. Thats the key. The guy flat out knows where he's throwing and does a nice job mixing pitches. Like Rex has mentioned he needs to learn to throw a few more intentional balls just to keep hitters honest, but in general what makes Bmac so good is his three good pitches (FB, CV, CH) mixed in with great control and a good downward plane he gots on the ball. He has also seen a nice increase in velocity.

66%...boy was I great, lol.

Welcome aboard. However, I hope your referring to Maggs being greedy cause JR ponied up the cash and made a substantial offer to Maggs. Just my 2 cents though. Regardless welcome

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 19, 2005 -> 06:45 PM) Tons of misinformation out there --- Nobody knows -- http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2002/1224/1482132.html That again puts his $$$ due at $8M & 9M, with the yankees picking $3M over the next two. Interpret it as you wish. I'm 99% sure that the Sox will be paying 6 mill a season for the next two years in regards to Contreras.
