  1. Nuke your right, the more they do this the more they further divide their party, imo. The democratic party continues to swing more drastically left and the people are responding.
  2. Hey Hey Hey, California may go democratic, but thats becuase they have Los Angeles and San Francisco. The suburbs go heavily democratic, for example the county I live in is very republican, San Diego county the same way. Most of the counties in the US are red, not just the ones in the midwest people. That article is elitist bulls***.
  3. Wow, I can't believe I didn't turn the game off. The Bulls showed a lot of heart in the comeback. Nocioni showed good defense, rebounding, and hustle and showed some nice finesse although his shot was off and he has poor shot selection (expected for a rookie). Same can be said of Deng, except I think he's going to be a monster. And as far as Hinrich goes, he missed a lot of open shots in the 1st half, but their is a reason he's my favorite player in the league. My god can he hustle and wow did he fight to get the Bulls back in the game. That lineup with Hinrich/Duhon both in the front court was nice. Ben Gordon was eh, If he continues to do what he did in the preseason and this first game, he's going to quickly find himself out of the rotation.
  4. I think if the Sox dealt them Lee or Konerko and got a 3rd team involved to get one of the two giving the Dbacks prospects and you could get Rj. I wouldn't make that deal either. It completely kills this offense. Carlos Lee is already one of the better hitters in all of baseball. He's also emerging into potentially one of the best hitters in all of baseball (some may disagree with me on this).
  5. I don't know if other members are supposed to add to this. But I'd like to mention he was a sleeper pick and didn't have much college experience so he's a little raw. He quite possibly has the best athletic talent of the draft though (catching wise) and shows good power potential as well. Has a good catching body too. But like I said very "raw" for a college player.
  6. Ok, I get the background check, but what the hell does him filing for bankruptcy have anything to do with whether he is capable of mananging the Dbacks. If you ask me thats freaking stupid. Their are many perfectly logical and sensible reasons for filing for bankruptcy. You could have a business and it goes under and a lot of times the best option is to file chapter 9.
  7. I've long been a fan of Armas Jr and I could definately see him brekaing out if he stayed healthy. Showed way more then Pavano ever did in Montreal, but at the same time I think some other team will give up something solid for him.
  8. I stick to my thinking. Carlos Lee is a very valuable commodity, Paul Konerko is a valuable commodity and 10 mill in cash is a valuable commodity. Their is absolutely no way I make this deal. Plus now the Sox have an outfield with Everett in RF, but the problem is we have absolutely zero DH until Thomas comes back, which probably won't be at the start of the season. Konerko and Munoz or Konerko and Diaz (maybe include a guy like Spidale or Rogo) could probably or at least possibly get your Hudson. Why would I possibly give up Carlos Lee and 2 to 3 prospects, plus cash for Eric Byrnes???? That would be nuts, imo.
  9. I think 5 mill a year could work out, especially when you consider all the other names on the market ahead of him. The Sox could be well suited if they sneak in early in Free Agency and sign him.
  10. Way too much money gets thrown around. For example if anyone would simply take on all of Arthur Rhodes contract this upcoming year I'd think they could have him. Yet you have the Cards acquiring that albatross of a contract and giving up 4 mill in cash plus a prospect. THe Sox are giving up two contracts and 6 mill is do-able, imo. However the Sox offense is in trouble now. However you know me, I like the idea of getting Byrnes.
  11. Umm, where does he figure that Drew is gonna get 8 million a year. As far as I'm concerned the Braves would so lock him up if thats the offer he got. He'll more likely get 10-11 per season.
  12. I looked up the stats in one of my first blog articles and based it off 3 runs or less and compared them with hte other top teams in baseball. The Sox were higher, but if you took out that stretch without Maggs/Frank where the Sox offense flat out took a dump you'd find out that they would of essentially been quite near the rest of the other top offenses in scoring 3 runs or less. Our offense was one of the 5 best in baseball and if we lost Konerko it would be a loss, but at the same time, adding a top of the order threat would at least help spell it out.
  13. Ya, he could get a 200 million contract, but I think its more likely he gets a 7 year deal. This could be a very risky proposition, but if the Sox could defer some of the money it may be something they consider. JR has a tendency to tab players as above and beyond the payroll guys, its quite possible either Beltran or RJ are those type of guys.
  14. One thing I did notice was Fox's ticker was a little more up to date time wise. They usually had a few percent higher with the precincts. I also noted that part Potus. I thought Fox's coverage got stronger as the night went on but for most of the early part I was on CNN. Plus everyone says Fox has bias, but Greta is a democrat and O'Reilly is doing everything he can to remain fair and balanced. I think both sides wanted to do as much as they could to make sure they were balanced for the election.
  15. I heard on the radio that Israel is reporting that he's dead (that he has no activity in his brain) but that his heart is still working, so technically he's alive. The hospital he is at is denying this report though. I'm assuming he's in a comma. Either way this is going to be very interesting to see how this situation is handled by Palestinians and Israelites.
  16. Wow, shockingly California is moving on up. My state is freaking retarded.
  17. Just want to throw a little unlikely to happen scenario out there, but how would this be for an off-season. Sox sign Carlos Beltran Sox sign Omar Vizquel Sox Trade for Kevin Brown (pay a very minimal amount of his contract) and give up Arnie Munoz, Felix Diaz, and Joe Borchard Sox probably have to trade one of Lee/Konerko (i'd rather deal Konerko cause Gload would fit in just fine) and they get prospects in this trade plus a good reliever (maybe Juan Cruz and prospects from the Braves). Either way it fills shortstop, it fills the rotation with a potential ace, and gives us a stud cf to market for a long long time. Rowand Omar Beltran Thomas Lee Gload/Everett Crede Catcher Harris/Uribe Rotation Brown Buehrle Garcia Contreras Garland When you think about it, that rotation has a lot of groundball pitchers so maybe it could work out. Brown should pitch well in Chicago, although its a given he'll miss at least a few starts, but as long as he's heatlhy most of the year he gives you a guy thats an ace.
  18. The only commercial that just doesn't seem to get tiring to me is that Mike Vick experience commercial. Man thats just a cool commercial. That and that old beer commercial with the two girls fighting
  19. Umm, I don't know how you say the un-educated vote republican, considering the more money you make (which typically correlates to education) the higher the likelihood that you vote republican. We could talk all day about the reasons why. Is it really because they are smarter or does it have to do with hte fact that republicans tend to be for low taxes which realistically gives the rich a nice windfall (in my opinion rightly so, since they pay the highest amount to the government).
  20. I thought that too, but they were really over-dramatizing. I mean if you want to talk close, lets look at Wisconsin, Iowa, New Mexico. Ohio really wasn't that close, especially when the precint numbers were showing Bush increases in comparison to 2000 in the majority of counties. Just like I was surprised how slow certain stations were to call Florida.
  21. In my opinion Edwards is toast. His seat was up this year in North Carolina and the republican ended up winning. Despite some reports on how loved Edwards was in North Carolina, quite a few polls showed that he was no guarantee to win in fact I heard a few stations yesterday say he wouldn't of won his seat back anyway (hard to say though). I honestly don't think Edwards is going to get re-elected in the senate and I think he'll end up going back to working on law (he is a practicing trial lawyer). Kerry is a lawyer, but I don't think he's a practicing one nor has he been one for a long time (someone can correct me on this if I'm wrong). As far as Edwards goes, he had a lot of momentum in the primaries, but that momentum really seemed to go the other way, especially the more Edwards talked. Remember though, I'm not a democrat so I don't know how their parties supporters feel in regards to Edwards.
  22. I don't know where to post this and if anyone even cares about this. But I was going to see how everyone judged the election coverage and wht station they ended up watching. I figured i'd be watching FoxNews, but to be honset, I thought they did a lousy job on the election. In the end I was shocked to say I watched CNN the most. I thought other then Bill Bradley, and the red head person in CNN News booth (god was she biased) that they did a pretty unbiased job. The only thing I didn't like is how they made a huge deal about making Ohio a green state and how its "Too Close to Call". Anyway just want to give CNN credit. Hell I caught a little CBS and they weren't that bad either. ABC was solid and surpisingly MSNBC did a very good job as well (I'm not a Chris Matthews fan).
