Is he just arbitration eligible? Cause I thought I read at one point that Cleveland wasn't expecting Ronnie Belliard to be with them next year. I thought at one point they were rumored to potentially non tender him, but thats just off memory so I am probably wrong, lol.
-
Ya, 5 players; 2 pitchers, 2 hitters and then one wild card.
-
Gammons was just on ESPN News: - AL Leiter is a free agent and said he may go back to the Mets, but not as likely - Detroit may up their payroll to as much as 70/75 million for next year (Koskie, Percival, Lowe, Clement) - Angels have 40/45 million to spend. Won't give Beltran more per year then they did Vladdy (15 mill per); Angels may be willing to give Varitek that 4th year and then Molina would be moved.
-
Of course the AP had a story and felt it was the Sox that were going to sign him today or tomorrow. We shall see.
-
Way to go Vladdy, you earned it
-
The Bears seem to think it will be more along the lines of 4 weeks, but we shall see.
-
Way retarded. He should be able to do what he wants to as long as he's getting the job done. Listening to music doesn't hurt anyone.
-
This brings up a good point. 16 mill on RJ is it really better then signing a FA and then trading Konerko (who was gonna be dealt for RJ and Garland) for a young ace like Mulder/Hudson, etc. I sure as hell would be excited.
-
I disagree, a healthy Danny Wright is potentially a very very good reliever. Plus Wright is probably one of the best character guys the Sox have. He has an AWESOME attitude.

Thats probably something none of us have thought of but could be a possibility if Uribe/Harris and whoever else is at the middle infield are all producing and EVerett is out of shape and Borchard is still whiffing up a storm. Cheat, I should add, I think the Sox could acquire Ray for not too much, get cahs paid by the Giants and therefor be paying him less then 6 mill. If the Sox want to sign Polanco at 4 mill a year for 2 or 3 years, I'd live, but 3 yr 18 million (i'd PUKE). Of course I'd be even more pissed with Guzman at 2 yr 10 or 3 yr 15 million. I just don't see why everyone is saying the Sox need a shortstop, THEY Don't. What the Sox need is a top of the order guy that can do the little things. Omar Vizquel was that so it made sense, especially since it meant Uribe could be a do it all guy. None of the other shortstops on the market fit that bill, except Nomar, who would be a nice upgrade over Jose (but its unlikely he comes to the Sox), therefor they should put their focus elsewhere. No one is going to tell me the Sox couldn't get Kendall, fill another hole, and not get the Pirates to make it where he would cost 5 or 6 million a year. Imo, Jason Kendall >>>>>> Guzman or Polanco; Sign EY or Larkin as a platoon type player in the middle infield and its all good. Obviously EY would be the easier signing. And we all know Uribe/Harris is a very very good defensive middle infield. The Sox need to focus on finding that OBP (top of the order guy) guy, not finding a shortstop.

Soley because other teams can dump their ridiculous contracts on the cubs or at least thats what they are thinking.
-
Ya they are. Sadly I'll admit I watch One Tree Hill when I see it on. Since I'm working on studying for two tests and working on a 15 minute presentation I got this week I was around and caught tonights episode. The girls are way hot.
-
I thought it was pretty much a given that before any player signs a contract that they undergo a physical and that stuff. Teams may negotiate before checking out his knee, but I don't think they will dot the i's and cross the t's on the contract until he passes the physical.
-
You'd be amazed at what TV does. That Kristen girl isn't that hot. A buddy of mine went out with her and she's just alright. But ya that show is waaaay lame and I'm from right around there.

Rickey/Randy...could it be another Berry/Barry

I don't doubt Contreras stuff so I hope they can turn him around. I mean Weaver turned back into something solid when he went to Los Angeles. The only difference is Weaver had a past MLB experience of success. Hopefully Contreras can pan out, I just think its stupid to give 12 million (this year and next) to a guy that pretty much is an enigma. I long said if Contreras pitched good it would be a good deal, but to me its just too chancy. Trust me, the Yanks are very happy they got Elo because he was only paid this year, Contreras is under contract the next two years.
-
Bahaa, how about we just bring Rock Raines out of retirement. Sox are already paying him to be the base coach anyway, so it be nice and cheap
-
Its all good, unless of course you propose dealing both Konerko and Lee in the same trade
-
The worse part is they tempt them by putting all this good food in front of them. I don't know about overweight people, but if I had delicious cookies and brownies in front of my face everday, I'd of found a new hobby, lol.
-
I'd be against it cause I think their are better things the Sox could spend 6 million on in terms of relievers.
-
I have all the rosters on my computer so we just need to all submit our keepers.
-
Amen to that; Isn't this the last season?
-
Sorry to hear about that Jeckle. Good to hear your ok though.
-
Larry King Live. I just think he's getting senile.

I must admit, I do watch Real World. But other then that and Apprentice (its not that bad, even though I can't watch it cause I think Trump is a deuche) and possibly this rebel billionaire thing, all reality shows are garbage. I must admit, I thought Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire (the one where Fox lied and said he was a millionaire) was hillarious the first time around.
