  1. I gotta admit, Benson has been pitching pretty damn good as of late. I watched a few innings of his start last night and he looked like he had a good curveball and was looking healthy. However, if its true that they want a top prospect and a position player, then they can get lost. If I were Kenny, I'd consider giving up one AAA arm, thats it, unless they want some midlevel prospect.
  2. Look for him to pick up a reliever and possibly a catcher. However if the club is firing on all cylinders, you may see him go relatively quiet, minus another reliever.
  3. I missed it so I don't mind it at all. This was too freaking funny anyway, even if I saw it a first time I'd of appreciated this coming up a 2nd time. God is this great. And Jim...us Soxtalk mods/admins are way cool, you should know being part of the crew

    Alex, u got Xbox right?
  5. However it works nice, when it is slow, I can kind of do my own thing and show up when I want. The beauties of being a loan officer for my own clients and a processor for a few of the agents at the office I'm at.
  6. Quagmire = THE MAN So many great lines of his. If I ever find it, I'm going to get a shirt with a small picture of his head like on the chest area of the shirt and then on the back in quotes "Giggidy Giggidy". I'm thinking the shirt will be blue or yellow or something.
  7. Well since everyone else has jumped out of the woodwork, I'll back down on my statement. Like I say, oldsocks is a good poster, I'm trying to remember what older poster he was...(Jim Fainter/Hex Hudler???). I'm not trying to stop someone from stating their opinion, I was just thinking it was redundant to happen on every post, always stating that another top prospect is going to be given up. Just my 2 cents though, so Oldsocks, just ignore my previous post, but do know my personal preference is that its getting old, lol, but everyones entitled to their opinions and I know I will rant on about things at times too.
  8. I also interviewed Josh Fields of the Barons today Going to be writing up a story on one of the not so talked about bullpen guys. He's put up awesome numbers everywhere he's pitched and I remember seeing at least a few posts with people asking about him.
  9. I wouldn't be complaining if I were paid salary, but since its comission, I gotta make sure I stay at least partially involved.
  10. LMAO...the beauty of loan processing. Lots of down time, so I might as well entertain myself. I've often thought about getting Xtra innings online just so I can watch the games from my office, but then I thought about it and realized I wouldn't get anything done.
  11. Its up as the main story right now. Im gonna put Sean Tracey's interview up later in the afternoon
  12. The question is how do you help them. So many of them are so screwed up in the head that the only way to help them is to put them into some sort of institution, but without permission and what not thats not something we can do and I think a lot of people would be inredibly upset if the US started doing that. Personally I think institutionalizing those that are way screwed up wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, because I think it would be expensive, but at the same time cut costs of af lot of other things like crime and what not down (What can I say, I really don't have that much respect for a lot of homeless people...their are some I do have respect for, but its few and far between). Too often have I handed a dollar or two only to see the guy go across the street and by some booze to solve his problems. After that I basically stopped giving out anything. I'd rather just do something that helps the poor without giving them my money directly. Plus, I just have to ask this question...how hard is it to get off your ass and get a job at McDonalds? Sure your not going to make a lot of money, but damn it its a job.

2k is the craziest poster I've ever seen. One day they will be telling stories about him.
  14. Guys, Kap has been posting through the roof as of late...u guys must of just missed out on it. The important thing is, the steroid abuser 2k4 is no longer the leader
  15. Oh god...Spiffs post count is going to double...I know you love these nascar threads You need to ask Ian about my argument on why Nascar isn't a sport during the roadtrip.
  16. Don't worry, the money will go back to em later near election time when they buy the guy some booze to go vote Kerry. Sorry, I just had to say it.
  17. OMG, Spiff, your new thing under your avie is awesome. He donates his money, so its alright to try and knife Peter

I just downloaded itunes and holy crap does this thing work pretty damn nice. I must admit it. If they end up lowering the price of downloading music or have some unlimited download package where you can burn at a reasonable price, they could make a fortune.

Ya, usually I go around 9.99 unless its something I really like and typically thats for older stuff (I notice older cd's are sometimes more). I figure if I can buy dvd's for 10 bucks, I shouldn't pay more for cd's, hehe.
  21. Chisoxfn replied to hi8is's topic in Soxtalk Awards Archive
Ya, I was huge into downloading a while ago. Now I try to buy cd's if I can. Most of the bands I like have cd's pretty cheap when they first come out. I remember getting Alk trio for like 6 or 7 bucks, same for Yellowcard, Ben Harper and at least a few others. Still, I freaking hate buying cd's, I must admit, lol and rarely will I ever buy from a major record label anymore.

Quick question for you, is the singer for Death Cab for Cutie also the singer for Postal Service? I was thinking Death Cab for Cutie was how I found out about Postal Service, another band I like with a unique sound.

Lol, did they have a song on one of the OC's episodes, cause I unless I'm mistaken I was thinking they are from the Seattle area. They were pretty small up their for quite a while until they kind of started to get more of a following. They got a real unique, but definately enjoyable sound. I'm gonna look for them if they come down here, since u say they put on a good show. I'm also gonna take up your suggestion for Itunes. I remember seeing almost all their Cd's at like 19.99 and I refuse to pay that for a CD, lol. Never used itunes before, so might as well try it out.

Since I'm lame like this, I decided to look up Death Cab, last time I mentioned it here was September 26th 2003..damn time goes by fast. http://www.soxtalk.com/index.php?showtopic...ath%20cab&st=15

holy f***...you are the first person I know thats heard of Death Cab for Cutie. Great stuff. I like their old stuff a lot but Transformention (or whatever its called) was pretty good...although I only have a few of their songs...cd was always pretty expensive. I thought Yellowcard was great, but ya Alk Trio was really good live. I had heard Alk sucks live, but they definately had a lot of energy when I saw them. I think Yellowcard was really pumped, I hear they really step it up anytime they get to play in OC and SoCal in general. Speaking of Death Cab, I don't know if the stie is still like it, but a few months ago they let you listen to most of their stuff and even save some of it. Thats how I have grabbed some of their stuff. Don't know if the site is still that way. Last time I was on their was just around when they were releasing their new cd and they had a few songs available from it.
